A Boulevard Street man, 22, was charged with tampering with evidence, complicity and willful fleeing. He is accused of leading police on a car chase after failing to stop for a license plate violation. Officers said they saw a passenger throw a bag of suspected crack out a window.
A Russet Lane man, 25, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing weapons illegally, discharging a firearm, obstructing official business, tampering with evidence and drug abuse. The man is accused of firing five shots outside a Circle K on East Market Street and hiding a loaded gun at a Pondview Avenue residence. Officers said he had drugs and a previous domestic violence conviction.
A South Rhodes Avenue man, 21, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Police responded to a robbery call on Diagonal Road and saw a man getting into a car. Officers reported finding a mask and loaded gun in the vehicle.
A Cuyahoga Street man, 47, was charged with receiving stolen property, accused of having a stolen 2005 Freightliner tractor-trailer from Barberton.
A Lovers Lane man, 18, was charged with receiving stolen property. He is accused of having a stolen car while at a Circle K on South Hawkins Avenue.
A Dover Avenue man, 29, was charged with receiving stolen property, driving with a suspended license and reckless operation of a vehicle after officers stopped his car at South and Clay streets. The vehicle was stolen.
An Oakwood Avenue man, 22, was charged with felonious assault. He is accused of stabbing someone in the chest and side.
A man, 18, was charged with breaking and entering, underage consumption and possession of drugs after police said they saw him riding a motorcycle at Johnny’s Towing off Sweitzer Avenue. Police stopped him on suspicion that he was drinking. They reported finding a Vicodin pill.
A Sixth Street Southwest man, 60, was charged with driving under the influence, disorderly conduct and obstructing official business. Police reported the man has five previous convictions for driving under the influence.
A Gibbs Road man, 28, was charged with burglary after witnesses reported seeing a man carrying a flat-screen TV from a Congo Street home. Police arrested the suspect at his home and reported finding the TV and other items that had been taken from the Congo Street home.
A Dover Avenue man, 23, was charged with domestic violence, accused of assaulting a woman who was four months’ pregnant.
A Wildwood Avenue man, 21, was charged with domestic violence, accused of hitting and choking a woman holding a month-old baby.

A Seventh Street Northwest man, 19, was charged with theft and fleeing an officer Jan. 26 after police responded to a call of two men stealing siding from a house on Columbus Avenue. When police arrived, a car fled the scene. A passenger jumped out of the moving vehicle and escaped. The driver crashed into a tree, ran off and was apprehended a short time later.
A man, 37, was charged with aggravated arson and domestic violence Jan. 22. He is accused of setting his living-room floor on fire while his wife and two children were in the home.
A man, 33, was charged with hit-skip, obstructing official business and speeding Jan. 23. He is accused of ramming his SUV into another vehicle and driving off. Police said they found him walking on Wooster Road, wearing no shoes or coat. Officers said he had been drinking.
A man, 35, was charged with domestic violence, accused of assaulting his father.
Burglary
A television and video-game system were reported stolen Jan. 26 from an Iowa Place apartment.
Breaking and entering
Someone broke into a vacant building in the 300 block of Wooster Road North between Aug. 8 and Jan. 23, destroyed a vending machine and defecated in a kitchen sink.
Fraud
A 24th Street Northwest woman reported Jan. 25 that a man made an offer on her house in November. She later discovered that the man had listed her house for sale on several websites, naming himself as the owner.
Thefts
A man reported Jan. 26 he arranged to meet another man outside a home in the 700 block of Robinson Avenue to buy a television. He said when he gave the man nearly $600, the seller went into the house to get the television, but never came back out.
A Herms Court woman reported Jan. 26 that her car was stolen. A neighbor told police he saw a man use a key to enter the vehicle, then drive away.

A Briarhill Drive man reported Jan. 20 that he received a call from a person who said he was with the “Windows service center.” The resident was instructed to download a program so the caller could remotely access the man’s computer and fix some errors. The man later discovered the call was fraudulent.
Phone harassment
A woman reported Jan. 19 that a contractor called her at work and threatened her because he had not been paid by her estranged husband for work done on their home.

Medication was reported missing Jan. 20 from a Copley nursing home.

An Akron cabdriver, 39, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon Jan. 20 after being stopped at Ninth Street and Grant Avenue. The man is accused of having a loaded handgun in the driver’s door panel of his cab.
A Dwight Street woman, 20, an employee of Desiree’s club, was charged with assault Jan. 17 after arriving at work in the 2200 block of Front Street. She is accused of assaulting a female bartender, punching her and biting her thumb. Police said she appeared to be intoxicated.
A Second Street boy, 15, was charged with theft Jan. 20, accused of stealing an iPod from a family member.
Thefts
A man broke into a Ford pickup truck parked at Krieger’s in the 600 block of Graham Road and stole a book bag containing a tablet computer and graphing calculator worth a total of $1,700.
A black 2003 Ford Escort valued at $2,000 was reported stolen Jan. 20 from the 2200 block of Winter Parkway.
A 2003 Chevrolet conversion van valued at $17,995 was reported stolen Jan. 18 from the Don Sitts Auto Sales lot in the 2400 block of Front Street.
Attempted break-in
A Bailey Road man, 28, reported Jan. 23 that someone tried to kick in the door to his home, but fled after realizing the resident was home.

A Doylestown man, 21, was charged with unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance, improper handling of a firearm, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia Jan. 22. During a traffic stop in the 3700 block of West Market Street, police discovered the man was wanted on a Wadsworth warrant. Officers arrested the driver and reported finding marijuana in his pocket and a sawed-off shotgun, shells and a drug pipe in the vehicle.

A Chamberlain Road woman, 25, reported Jan. 23 that she received several threatening text messages.

A Richfield Township man reported Jan. 15 that a snowplow was stolen from a pickup truck parked in a lot on South Miller Road.

A Brook Park woman, 26, was arrested during a suspicious-person stop on Mayfair Road at state Route 619 on a warrant charging felony theft and felony receiving stolen property.

The president of Fluid Power Inc. in the 1300 block of Hudson Gate Drive reported Jan. 10 that an employee had misused the company’s credit card to make $80,000 worth of unauthorized personal purchases between December 2007 and December 2011.

A 40-year-old man from Englewood Drive, Stow, was charged with robbery Jan. 19. He is accused of asking for $2 in change at the IHOP restaurant on South Arlington Road and grabbing an undisclosed amount of cash from the open register.
A 40-year-old man from Sanitarium Road, Lakemore, was charged Jan 17 with two counts of domestic violence — one a felony. He is accused of becoming violent during a quarrel, pinning his wife to the floor and pulling a second victim’s hair.
A Shady Acres Drive man, 20, was charged with domestic violence Jan. 16. He is accused of threatening to kill his stepfather and blow up his house.
A 35-year-old man from South Sunnyfield Drive, Copley Township, was summoned to court Jan. 14, accused of repeatedly phoning and texting a Mogadore woman at Johnny J’s Pub and Grille on East Waterloo Road.
An Akron man, 19, was charged with assault Jan. 14, accused of striking his former girlfriend in the face and head at her home on Grace Road.

A Howard Avenue man reported Jan. 16 that 120 compact discs and tools worth a total of $1,410 were taken from an unlocked pickup truck.
Two semiautomatic pistols, a revolver and shotgun were reported stolen Jan. 14 from a Fifth Street home in Lakemore.

A 40-year-old man from East Emerling Avenue, Akron, was charged Jan. 19 with theft, using crack cocaine and trying to steal $1,100 in goods from Walmart in the 3500 block of Hudson Drive.
A Trudy Avenue man, 26, was charged with domestic violence Jan. 17, accused of giving his brother, 32, a bloody nose and cutting his cheek during an altercation.
A Kent Road man, 27, was charged Jan. 19 with domestic violence at his home.

Counterfeit money
Three counterfeit $50 bills were circulated Jan. 16-21. Police said two fake bills were used to buy groceries Jan. 21 at the Giant Eagle in the 4300 block of Stow Road. Another fake $50 bill was used at Advance America Cash Advance in the 3400 block of Hudson Drive.

A Kentucky man, 23, was charged with burglary Jan. 22, accused of breaking a door window at a home on Northeast Avenue, reaching in and unlocking it.
A 59-year-old man from Page Street, Ravenna, was charged Jan. 18 with drug possession and possessing chemicals used to make methamphetamine.
A 31-year-old man from Lovers Lane, Akron, was charged with domestic violence Jan. 17. He is accused of punching his wife in the back of her head several times at her North Thomas Road home after she suggested he needed medication. The woman fought back, ripped his shirt and scratched his right arm.
Thefts
Seven unlocked cars were ransacked Jan. 16-17 between South Avenue and Southwest Avenue. Four thefts occurred on South, two on Southwest and one on Parkside Lane. Among the items stolen were cash, an iPod, cell phone, GPS unit and a U.S. Army gas mask.
A South Thomas Road man told police that someone broke into his home and stole electronic equipment while he was plowing snow. The intruder broke a small window, unlocked the door and stole a laptop computer and a Nintendo Wii.
A 2011 Ford Edge was reported stolen Jan. 17 from a driveway in the 100 block of Northwood Lane.

A Wooster man, 45, who was wanted in connection with the stabbing of his wife Jan. 21 at their Ogden Drive home, was arrested by the State Highway Patrol on Jan. 24 on Interstate 77 near Marietta. The man was driving a pickup truck reported stolen from Massillon and was arrested on a warrant charging him with felonious assault.
