Arrests

A Henry Street man, 28, was charged with breaking and entering after police said he used a tool to open a side door of a neighboring residence, entered the house and took items.

A Second Avenue man, 40, was charged with burglary and resisting arrest after he allegedly tried to break into a side door of a Reed Avenue home and kick in a garage door at an Austin Avenue home. Police apprehended him after a long chase on foot.

Personal property was taken Aug. 23 from a home in the 2000 block of Revere Road.

Arrests

A Barberton man, 51, was charged Aug. 17 with sexually assaulting a boy. The youth drew attention when he broke a window of the man’s car in an apparent attempt to get a cell phone to call 911.

A Wadsworth woman, 23, was charged with domestic abuse Aug. 20 after she allegedly attacked her mother, 44. Officers said they found the daughter intoxicated outside an apartment building.

A Cleveland woman, 40, was charged with theft and obstruction of official business after she allegedly tried to steal goods from the Home Depot on West Market Street. Officers reported finding $293 in stolen Walmart merchandise in her possession.

Arrests

A Searl Street woman, 24, was charged Aug. 21 with drug possession. She allegedly had two different narcotic pain pills.

A High Street man, 20, was charged with threatening domestic violence Aug. 22 after he allegedly threatened his sister.

Burglary

A home in the 200 block of Victor Avenue was burglarized Aug. 19.

Child endangering

A passing driver directed an officer’s attention to a toddler, wearing only a diaper and T-shirt, who was chasing a dog on Grant Street about 7 a.m. Aug. 17. The officer saw the dog run into an Eighth Street home through an open door. The toddler’s father was asleep in the home. The case was referred to Summit County Children’s Services.

Fraud

A Second Street man reported Aug. 22 that he cashed a check he received from someone he does not know and wired some of the money to a South Carolina address. He later discovered the check was fraudulent.

Identity theft

An Edward Avenue woman reported Aug. 19 that someone used her identity to open a credit line with an Internet company. The amount due on the account was nearly $5,000.

Misuse of a credit card

A Ninth Street man reported Aug. 20 that he left his debit card in the ATM at a State Road bank. The card was taken and used to make more than $200 in illegal transactions.

Arrests

An Akron woman, 19, was charged with theft Aug. 19 after she allegedly stole a bottle of perfume and some Hello Kitty earrings from Claire’s Boutique at Summit Mall. The total value was $21.

A Buffington Road man, 31, was arrested on a warrant charging possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia Aug. 18. Police learned about the warrant when responding to a domestic call in which he tried to stop his girlfriend from leaving him.

A Columbus man, 24, and a Columbus woman, 29, were charged with theft Aug. 17 after they allegedly stole a Bose headset worth $349.

An Akron woman, 36, was charged with cruelty to animals Aug. 17 after she left a dog in her car while shopping at Macy’s in Summit Mall. The temperature in the car exceeded 102 degrees, police said.

Theft

A Fairlawn Country Club employee told police that someone broke into the pool house Aug. 20 and stole the keys to a liquor cabinet, three bottles of liquor and a pool gate.

Fraud

A Westfield Bank employee told police Aug. 15 that someone cashed a fraudulent check for $993.

Someone broke into a vacant home in the 6400 block of Stone Road and took copper pipes.

Theft

A Grant Street man reported Aug. 22 that several items were stolen from his garage. Estimated loss was $1,400. He suspected a homeless man who had been staying in a mobile home on the property.

A Graham Road man, 56, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 23.

Sexual assault

An Akron woman, 32, told police Aug. 22 that a man touched her inappropriately through her clothing while she was sleeping in a Kent Road residence.

Assault

A Crystal Cove Circle man, 49, told police Aug. 17 that he was punched in the face by another man.

Identity theft

A McTaggart Road woman reported Aug. 20 that someone she knows has been using her identity.

Computer hacking

A Tall Grass Circle woman told police Aug. 17 that someone hacked into her computer and deleted files and emails.

Tallmadge

Arrests

A Barberton man was charged with tampering with evidence and possession of heroin Aug. 16 following a traffic stop on South Avenue. An officer reported seeing the man reach into his pocket and put something into his slushy drink. Police found small bags containing suspected heroin residue.

Breaking and entering

Someone broke into the restrooms at the Summit County Fairgrounds, 229 E. Howe Road, and stole copper pipes valued at $1,000.

Burglary

A computer was stolen from an apartment in the 200 block of Thomas Road.

Misuse of a credit card

A Craig Drive woman told police Aug. 21 that someone used her credit card to make unauthorized transactions totaling more than $400.

Arrests

A First Street woman, 21, was charged Aug. 23 with falsification after she allegedly gave police a false name because she thought there was a warrant for her arrest.

A Mills Street man, 41, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 23 after he allegedly assaulted his wife.

Menacing

A woman told police Aug. 21 that someone is stalking her.

Unauthorized use of firearms

A Stephanie Circle resident reported Aug. 21 that someone shot a gun at the house. No one was injured.

Arrests

A Streetsboro man, 25, was charged with driving under suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana Aug. 20.

A South Euclid man, 24, was charged with receiving stolen property Aug. 18.

A Loop Road man, 20, was charged with attempted burglary, resisting arrest and underage drinking Aug. 19.

Breaking and entering

A flat-screen television was taken Aug. 18 from a West Main Street business.
