An Inman Street man, 48, was charged with possession of heroin after a traffic stop in the 700 block of Carlysle Street.
A 31-year-old Snyder Street man was charged with trafficking in heroin after police said he sold heroin to an undercover police officer.
A Whitney Avenue man, 35, was charged with domestic violence, domestic violence menacing, resisting arrest and disrupting public service after police said he choked his girlfriend in front of her children. When one of the children attempted to call 911, he grabbed the phone and threw it, police said. When officers arrived, he refused to be handcuffed and actively resisted.
A Bedford Court, Brunswick, woman, 19, was charged with felony theft after police said she admitted stealing more than $2,000 from her employer over the past month.
A Crosby Street woman, 29, was charged with domestic violence and felonious assault after police said she went to her mother’s house to steal items. When she was confronted by her brother, she stabbed him twice, police said. The brother was taken to a local hospital, where his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
An East Hopocan Avenue man, 43, was charged Feb. 3 with aggravated menacing after he threatened to kill a man with a knife.
An Eighth Street Northwest resident told police Jan. 31 that someone broke into his house and garage and stole his lawn mower and cash. Total value $600.
An Iowa Place resident told police Feb. 3 that she had filled out an online job application and then was told she would have work after she cashed some checks. The first check for $1,850.85 turned out to be fraudulent and the bank wouldn’t cash it. Police told her the name she was given was likely a fake name and that the job likely was a scam.
A Cherry Street man told police Feb. 4 that a $600 computer was stolen from his residence.
Items valued at $900, including an iPad, were reported stolen Feb. 3 from an Orchard Avenue residence.
On Jan. 31, a woman, who told police she had spent the night at a friend’s home on 27th Street Northwest, discovered that morning that a car she borrowed from another friend had been entered and her purse and contents and three garage door openers, total value $797, had been taken.
Police on Jan. 31 began investigating the theft of $4,185 from a West Tuscarawas Avenue woman’s bank account while she was in the hospital.
A Portage Lakes Drive woman, 21, was arrested Feb. 6 on a warrant charging her with endangering children.
A Rock Creek man reported Feb. 10 he discovered someone used his identity to open an account with a company that then sent the man an IRS earned income form.
A handgun was taken from the bedroom of a Yellow Creek Road home between Aug. 1 and Feb. 10.
A 23-year-old man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. An officer on patrol noticed his red pickup truck stuck in a ditch.
A resident, 63, told police someone had made unauthorized transactions on her credit card. The charges were made at a Bed Bath and Beyond in Florida for the amount of $641.
A 28-year-old woman was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. An officer noticed her SUV sitting on the left side of the yellow line, stopped at the intersection of Medina and Medina Line roads.
A 27-year-old Seventh Street man was charged Feb. 11 with drug abuse. The man’s father told police his son overdosed on heroin. The man was revived and taken to Summa Western Reserve Hospital.
A 35-year-old Fairview Place man was charged Feb. 12 with violating a protection order and resisting arrest. Police said when he was told he was under arrest, he pushed an officer and ran.
Breaking and entering
Someone broke into Falls Feed and Supply, 4111 State Road, between Feb. 8 and 10 and took a safe containing about $250 in cash.
The manager of a Graham Road medical office reported Feb. 7 someone from the office is calling pharmacies with fraudulent prescriptions.
A Meadow Lane man had his identity stolen, according to a Feb. 12 report. Several purchases, totaling more than $1,800, were made from his bank account.
A handgun was stolen from a car parked in the 1900 block of Highbridge Road on Feb. 12.
A Winter Parkway woman reported Feb. 9 someone took her 2000 Chevrolet Malibu from a parking lot.
A Grant Avenue woman reported Feb. 9 someone took $5,500 from a safe in her home.
A Prange Drive woman reported Feb. 10 someone took diamonds and other jewelry, valued at a total of $18,000, from her home.
An Akron woman, 31, was arrested for leaving her child unattended in a parked car Feb. 12. Officers responding to an accident at Walmart noticed the 6-year-old girl sleeping in the back seat. The car was running and unlocked, said police.
A Copley man was issued a summons for depositing snow on the right-of-way Feb. 9. Officers detained him for plowing snow and ice without a snowplowing license.
An Akron teen, 16, was arrested for theft Feb. 8. He stole $316 in merchandise from Walmart. Security noticed him put the items in his basket and try to exit the store without paying. His mother refused to pick him up at the station.
A Woodpark girl, 12, was arrested for theft Feb. 7. She allegedly stole an iPod from her mother’s friend.
A West Firelands Drive man reported Feb. 7 he had fallen ill at Lifecenter Plus, 5133 Darrow Road, the day before and was transported by Hudson EMS. At some point, his belongings were taken. Some were found in a mailbox by a Stow postal employee, but his jacket, shoes and cash were still missing.
During a physical altercation between a Hilltop Drive father and son Feb. 1, the son, 17, allegedly punched his father several times and was charged with domestic violence.
Police are investigating the Feb. 3 report of a Renninger Road man, who said he received a 1099 tax form from a company in Palm Beach, Fla., indicating the resident owed $132,000. The form contained the man’s name and Social Security number. The victim said he never worked for the company.
A Highland Park Drive woman told police Feb. 1 that in going through her mother’s belongings, she discovered two watches, a wedding ring and other jewelry, total value $15,010, missing and believed stolen.
A Leeman Drive man said Feb. 1 that he received a call from two men saying they were from Mega Millions and that he had won a large sum of money and a car. He was told to purchase four $500 gift cards and call them with the numbers, which he did. When they asked for more money to be sent via Western Union to Jamaica before the prizes were delivered, he said no.
Two Akron men, ages 25 and 52, where charged Feb. 9 with breaking and entering and theft. They are accused of breaking into a building on Limestone Mine Road and taking scrap metal.
A 38-year-old Barberton man was charged Feb. 9 with burglary, resisting arrest and theft. Police were called to a Johnson Road home for a burglary in progress and did not find anyone in the house. Officers tracked shoe prints in the snow for two and a half hours, from the backyard into the woods off Hametown Road near Dorothy Avenue, where they found the suspect hiding in a tree.
Police arrested a Samuel Road man, 32, for felony domestic violence Feb. 5 after he argued with his wife and allegedly grabbed her phone and put his hand around her throat. He fled when she grabbed a second phone and called for help. He was arrested at the home three days later.
A Stow resident, 78, of Franklin Road was arrested for carrying concealed weapons and assault Feb. 3 after a Louisville man at Home Depot on South Arlington Road said the suspect threatened to pistol whip him then struck him on the side of the face with a pistol and slapped him on the other side. The suspect was found at Lowe’s on Corporate Woods Parkway with two guns in his truck.
Police arrested a 40-year-old Long Road man for breaking and entering and vandalism after he was found inside the D-Mart on Massillon Road where he fell entering the building through the roof on Jan. 31.
An Akron man, 27, of Hawkins Avenue was arrested for felony theft Jan. 29 after security personnel at Kohl’s on South Arlington Road said he was seen attempting to steal two vacuum cleaners, total value $1,030. He was stopped as he started to exit the store carrying the merchandise.
Breaking and entering
Police said a vacant home on Flickinger Road was entered Feb. 1 and dust masks, a power saw and other items were stolen. No value was listed.
Four tires and wheels, two 4-speed transmissions and other items, total value $3,700, were reported stolen Jan. 31 from a Canton Road resident’s garage.
An Akron City Schools employee said Feb. 7 that her wallet and contents were stolen at Kenmore High School and her credit card was used at the Walmart on South Arlington Road for purchases totaling $208. The case is under investigation.
A 48-year-old Klein Avenue woman reported Feb. 7 that between Jan. 1 and 28, someone used her personal information to open an account with a cable provider.
A 66-year-old North Avenue man was charged Feb. 7 with felonious assault. He is accused of attacking his ex-wife with a knife and a hammer. She received minor injuries.
A Parker Lane woman reported Feb. 11 that after a check she mailed to a doctor went missing, someone began using her checking account to pay utility bills for more than $300.
A client’s jewelry was stolen from a West Avenue business between Jan. 1 and Feb 5.
An Akron man reported Feb. 7 that while at the Venue, 10 Tallmadge Circle, someone took his $250 coat. The thief did empty the pockets first, leaving the man’s cellphone and keys behind.
A Simcox Street woman reported Feb. 7 someone used her debit card to make unauthorized charges totalling $280.
A Lynn Drive resident called police Feb. 10 to report that someone stole items from a car parked in the garage. The garage door opener was also taken.
A Hemlock Court resident returned home on Feb. 10 to find the word “dead” written in blue paint on his front door. The lock was also filled with glue.
Police were called to a Ridge Drive residence Feb. 10 after a husband and wife got into a fight. The wife accused her husband of taking her prescription medication that she had hidden from him.
A Grove Lane woman called police Feb. 7 to report that her bra was missing. She told officers that she suspects the handyman took it.
A locksmith called police Feb. 12 to report that he fielded a suspicious call from a man who said he needed an ignition key made for a car parked at a township motel.
A Good Road resident called police Feb. 11 to report that he noticed footprints in the snow leading from the road to his truck parked in the driveway. A cup full of change was missing.
Police were called to a River Styx Road home Feb. 9 after a teenager refused to come inside. He told officers he was upset that the house smelled like cats.
A 28-year-old Olympus Drive man was charged Feb. 12 with domestic violence.
Police charged a 43-year-old Dodge Street woman with possession of crack cocaine and theft Feb. 7.
A 25-year-old Sagamore Hills man was charged Feb. 9 with abduction.
A residence in the 700 block of Stinaff Street was broken into Feb. 12. Miscellaneous items were taken.
A Maple Heights resident, 19, was arrested in Stark on Feb. 3 after he was stopped by Maple Heights police on Jackson warrants for identity fraud, forging identity cards and grand theft motor vehicle.
Two suspects were being sought Feb. 3 after a theft of $1,088 worth of merchandise from Sears in the Belden Village Mall. A police report showed the pair took the items outside without paying and fled to a vehicle as one person dropped her items. Once inside the vehicle, they tried to pick up the dropped items in the parking lot before fleeing.
A Stark County sheriff’s deputy jailed a Timberview Street resident, 27, for domestic violence Jan. 30 after the officer was told the male suspect pushed a female into a bedroom door, making her believe he was attempting to cause physical harm.
A Carmella Circle Northwest resident, 33, was jailed for domestic violence Feb. 4 for allegedly causing physical harm to her sister with whom she lives.
A domestic violence charge was lodged against a Silverleaf Circle man, 33, who was jailed Feb. 3 after a woman told police he kicked a bedroom door and threatened to put her in a body bag, causing her to fear for her safety.
A Canton man, 22, of Georgetown Road Northwest was jailed Feb. 4 on a warrant for passing bad checks, involving the purchase of a $3,189 riding mower last July.
Police jailed a Massillon man, 40, of Cherry Road Northeast Feb. 4 on warrants for domestic violence, felony receiving stolen property, possession of criminal tools and driving under suspension when stopped on Pittsburg Avenue Northwest. The Jeep had been stolen out of Cleveland, police said.
An East Maple Street boy, 15, was released to his father Feb. 3 after being charged with burglary, breaking and entering, theft and criminal damaging involving a Witwer Street Northeast home Jan. 30. Ammunition, knives and other items, total value $1,051, were reported stolen.
A South Main Street woman, 28, was jailed for domestic violence and felony disrupting public services when arrested Feb. 1 following an incident at the residence.
A Wise Avenue Northeast boy, 14, was charged with domestic violence Jan. 28 after his parents said he and his father argued and the youth tried to hit his father and grabbed a knife and threatened both parents.
A Paige Avenue Northwest man, 54, was arrested Feb. 3 on a domestic violence warrant when found on Brookdale Street Northeast.
When an 18th Street Northwest, Canton, man, 36, was stopped on Middlebranch Avenue Northeast at 53rd Street on Feb. 22, he was arrested on three counts of felony breaking and entering, taking the identity of another and several other charges.
A Demington Avenue Northwest resident, 34, was jailed for domestic violence Jan. 31 when arrested at his home following a domestic incident there.
A Smithville man, 60, was arrested Feb. 11 on charges of burglary and theft after a resident reported that the man took four liters of Pepsi from a home in the 6300 block of Akron Road, Green Township.

Copper pipe worth $1,830 was reported stolen Feb. 11 from a vacant residence in the 11800 block of Fox Lake Road, Green Township.
Scrap metal valued at $320 was reported taken Feb. 3 from Zollinger Sand & Gravel, 11899 Wadsworth Road, Chippewa Township.
Jewelry and two binoculars, total value $1,060, were reported stolen Feb. 9 from a residence in the 7600 block of Leichty Road, Green Township.
A marijuana pipe, a spoon and other items were recovered by police Feb. 6 in a parking lot in the 1300 block of North Millborne Road, Green Township.
A 2005 Dodge pickup truck worth $3,000 was reported taken Feb. 10 from a yard in the 15000 block of North Elyria Road, Congress Township.
A debit card with $63 in charges and $3,960 were reported taken from a purse Feb. 8 at a residence in the 14800 block of Calaboone Road, Chippewa Township.
A handgun worth $400 was reported stolen Feb. 6 from a home in the 18200 block of Withrich Road, Sugar Creek Township.
A Fort Gratiot, Mich., woman, 22, was arrested Feb. 10 on charges of trafficking in drugs, providing fictitious ID and possession of marijuana at a College of Wooster residence. Police recovered two Pennsylvania IDs, marijuana and other items, a report said.
A Wooster man, 34, was arrested Feb. 11 on a charge of burglary after a resident reported that the man forced his way into a home in the 1700 block of Normandy Drive looking for someone who did not live there.
A Wooster man, 48, was arrested Feb. 12 on a charge of violation of a protection order after a Rebecca Street woman reported that he came into her home.
A 32-year-old Apple Creek man was arrested Feb. 8 on a charge of felony domestic violence after a woman, 30, reported that he assaulted her at a home in the 300 block of East Larwill Street. Police recovered a pistol, a report said.
