A Canton man, 21, of 11th Street Northwest, was charged with obstructing justice and possessing a weapon illegally. Police said he was admitted to Summa Akron City Hospital with two gunshot wounds. He told authorities that he was shot and robbed at Grant and East South streets in Akron. Officers determined that he was shot in an aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and felonious assault in Canton.
A North Main Street man, 22, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, receiving stolen property, possessing weapons illegally and tampering with evidence. Police responding to a fight call at a Moeller Avenue home reported seeing the man run away and throw a gun into woods at Lane Field.
An East Market Street man, 51, was charged with breaking and entering, receiving stolen property, misuse of a credit card and possession of an open container. Police said he was seen inside a closed restaurant on South Main Street. Security cameras captured the man taking $150, 12 credit cards and a bottle of Malibu rum, police said.
A Cleveland man, 53, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and panhandling. Police said he was aggressively panhandling without a license on North Main Street and had a box-cutter knife in his possession.
A Fourth Avenue man, 59, was charged with receiving stolen property following a traffic stop. Police said he was driving on a suspended license in a car whose registration sticker did not match the plate number. Another license plate in the vehicle matched the car but was reported stolen.
A Silver Lake man, 20, of Landon Drive, was charged with felonious assault, and a Baird Street man, 24, was charged with felonious assault and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Police said the two were involved in a confrontation in which a third man was stabbed.
A Robert Street man, 44, was charged with felonious assault after he allegedly stabbed someone during a quarrel at his home.
A 14th Street Southwest man, 30, was charged with felony theft after he allegedly tried to pawn $1,000 in stolen items at a Kenmore Boulevard shop.

Breaking and entering
Two truckloads of empty beer cans, total value $400 in scrap metal, were stolen July 4 from the Barberton Social Club on Sylvester Street along with a $500 motor belonging to a neighbor.
Someone broke into a George Street home July 1 and stole a flat-screen TV and two shotguns, total value $2,365.
Tools and other items, total value $1,240, were stolen June 29 from a 29th Street Northwest home.
Someone broke into an Illinois Place home June 29 and stole a 55-inch TV and other entertainment equipment, total value $1,100.
An East Cassell Avenue woman told police that someone used her debit card to make $900 in illegal purchases. She returned the items when they arrived on her doorstep.
A Glenhaven Avenue man, 18, was charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest July 8 after he allegedly verbally and physically abused his mother, 39, with whom he lives. When officers tried to arrest him, he refused to cooperate until they threatened to use a Taser on him.
A Sweet Briar boy, 15, was charged with domestic violence, running away and possessing drug paraphernalia. After his parents reported him missing, he showed up at home and banged on the front door with a baseball bat. The mother told police that he suffers from mental illness and anger issues.
An Encell Drive woman, 33, told police that the father of her children threw her to the ground, choked her and tossed her around a room July 7.
A Ridgecrest Drive man, 42, told police July 3 that someone has been emptying trash cans on top of his car.

A Home Depot manager caught a man, 30, trying to steal copper pipes. The customer tried to switch tags with less expensive merchandise. If successful, he would have paid $50 instead of $981.
A Bridger Road man, 22, was charged with assault and impersonating a peace officer July 8 at the Old Harbor Inn on Portage Lakes Drive. When a couple left the inn, the suspect asked to see the boyfriend’s ID and said he was a federal officer from Florida on official business, police said. When the girlfriend asked to see the suspect’s identification, he shoved her.
A Mallard Point Drive man, 48, was charged with domestic violence July 6 after he allegedly pushed and kicked a female at his residence.
An Akron man, 48, was charged with domestic abuse June 29 after he allegedly grabbed his wife, 49, by the throat, kicked her in the back and threatened to get a gun and kill her.

Two Akron women, ages 18 and 19, were charged with theft July 8 after they allegedly tried to steal three pairs of sunglasses, total value $444, from Sunglass Hut at Summit Mall. They were banned from the mall for six months.
Two Akron women, 17 and 18, were charged with theft June 28 after they allegedly took $72 worth of clothing from Target. They were banned from the store for six months.
An Akron woman, 48, was charged with theft July 1 after she allegedly concealed meat in her purse and left a store. The steaks were valued at $55.
An Akron man, 23, told police that someone stole his car from a Walmart parking lot July 1. Security cameras captured a girl, 17, entering the vehicle and stealing it. The car was recovered at the intersection of Bellevue and Dover avenues in Akron.
A Giant Eagle manager told police July 3 that someone stole compacted cardboard from the back of the store. Save-A-Lot has reported similar thefts. Total value of the cardboard is $65.

An Akron woman, 23, of Jenkins Boulevard, was charged with felony passing bad checks June 25. Police said she tried to buy $1,495 worth of merchandise from a Canton Road furniture store on an account that had been closed since at least 2008.
A Speedway clerk said a man entered the Canton Road store June 27, asked for a cigar and then pulled a handgun. He fled with the cigar and $378.
An Ambre Drive resident told police June 28 that a man claiming to be her nephew called to say he had been arrested and needed $2,111 wired via Western Union. After sending the money, the woman learned the call was a scam.
An Akron man, 23, and woman, 19, both of Eastwood Avenue, were charged with possessing chemicals used to make methamphetamine and child endangering July 5. Police said the two had receipts for pseudoephedrine, a can of WD-40 and other items during a traffic stop on East Avenue.

Driving under the influence
A Garfield Heights man, 30, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated July 7 after he crashed his 2004 Ford pickup truck into a tree in the middle of Tallmadge Circle. Police reported finding an open bottle of cognac in the truck. The driver, who was not injured, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.207 percent, more than double the legal limit.
A Perry Township man, 28, of Gnau Avenue Southwest, was arrested on an assault warrant July 2 at a Stuhldreher Street Northwest location.
A Canton man, 30, of Dewey Place Southwest, was arrested June 29 on a warrant alleging forgery and theft.
Three customers tried to steal $1,200 in merchandise July 1 from Old Navy on Strip Avenue Northwest, but left the goods behind after one of them became irate and was ordered to leave the store.
A Kent woman left her purse in a fitting room June 27 at the Forever 21 store in Westfield Belden Village Mall. When she returned, $500 was stolen.
