Summit County
Akron Drug offenses
Ricky L. Webb Jr., 27, of Laverne Lane, was charged Sept. 26 with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Clark A. Taylor, 36, of Gallipolis, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Jeff E. Rowland, 48, of Canton, was charged with drug abuse. During a traffic stop, police reported discovering crack pipes, drug paraphernalia and a tablet of generic Vicodin.
James W. Rush, 26, of Bloomfield Avenue, was charged Sept. 26 with trafficking in crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine and tampering with evidence. Police said seven rocks of crack cocaine were thrown from a bedroom window, but they found digital scales, 11 grams of crack cocaine and 7 ounces of marijuana packaged for sale in his residence.
Marcus L. Nixon, 26, of Coventry Road, was charged Sept. 25 with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of meth, ecstasy and marijuana, tampering with evidence and obstructing official business. According to reports, police went to a residence in the 1900 block of Newton Street to arrest Nixon on felony warrants. Melissa R. Conley, 18, of Barberton, reportedly delayed opening the door, saying she had just gotten out of the shower. Police said Nixon jumped from a second-story balcony and was chased. Police used a stun gun on him after catching up to him. He reportedly tried to dispose of three bags of meth. Police said they recovered 17 grams of marijuana and ecstasy. Conley and Lavell D. Garrett, 29, of Martha Avenue, who police said was hiding in a bedroom closet, were charged with obstructing justice, a first-degree felony. The charges were elevated because they aided a fugitive who was wanted on first- and second-degree felonies, police said.
Dwight E. Price, 50, of Copley Road, was charged Sept. 24 with possession of heroin following a traffic stop. Police said they saw him leave a suspected drug site. Officers reported that through a car window, they saw him put something in his mouth and swallow. A bag with traces of heroin was found, police said.
Eddie J. Smart, 56, of Vernon Odom Boulevard, was charged Sept. 24 with possession of heroin. Police said they saw Smart stop briefly at a drug location. Two small bundles of heroin were found under his vehicle's passenger seat, police said.
Phelbert R. Lawson III, 20, of Fourth Street Southwest, Michael A. Parish, 20, of Canton, and Martavian J. Thigpen, 18, of Canton, were charged Sept. 21 with possession of crack cocaine and marijuana. During a traffic stop, police said, they saw marijuana in plain view. Crack cocaine was found in an inventory of the vehicle, reports said.
Curtis C. Dixson, 30, homeless, was charged Sept. 19 with trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin, abuse of marijuana and having an open container. Dixson is accused of having 35 small bundles of heroin in his pants and a marijuana blunt and bottle of cognac in the center console.
Theft offenses
A Frederick Boulevard girl, 17, and a Dietz Avenue girl, 17, were charged with theft Sept. 28, accused of hiding clothing valued at $172 in bags at J.C. Penney, 2000 Brittain Road.
A burglary was reported Sept. 28 in the 1000 block of Jason Avenue. Three males were seen exiting a rear door. A computer was missing.
Someone took copper plumbing Sept. 28 from a vacant house in the 200 block of Darrow Road.
A burglary was reported Sept. 27 on Belvidere Way. A VCR, MP3 player, CDs, DVDs and a webcam were taken.
George M. Howes, 22, of Cleveland, was charged Sept. 27 with receiving stolen property and misrepresenting his identity. Police said Howes was sitting in a 2003 Ford Escape that had been reported stolen the day before.
Someone stole 50 feet of copper pipe Sept. 27 from a basement in the 800 block of Avon Street.
Justin M. Evans, 24, of Crosier Street, was charged Sept. 26 with receiving stolen property. Police said Evans was driving a 2000 Dodge Ram that had been stolen three days earlier.
A Lakeshore Boulevard woman told police Sept. 25 that her puppy had been stolen. The dog did not return after the woman let it out at night. The following day, she said, she saw the dog tied up in a yard on Lake Street. When she approached, she saw a man put the dog in a van and leave.
Someone stole copper plumbing Sept. 25 after kicking in the door of a vacant Noble Avenue property.
Kevin J. Polen, 30, of East Hopocan Avenue, Barberton, was charged Sept. 25 with two counts of breaking and entering. Responding to a call of a burglary in progress, officers said Polen was a passenger in a vehicle that left D & R Owens Body Shop and Ace Tire, 465 N. Main St. Police reported finding $3,000 in stolen property in the car.
A burglary was reported Sept. 24 on Fulton Street. Someone removed an air conditioner from a window and took a purse out of the living room.
Superior Drainage, 1175 George Washington Ave., reported a theft Sept. 24 after someone cut a catalytic converter from a company vehicle.
A man told police Sept. 23 that he was robbed at gunpoint while walking behind a building at South Arlington Street and Fourth Avenue. The gunman escaped with $40.
Domestic violence/assault
Deidra A. Krucker, 39, of Anderson Avenue, was charged Sept. 28 with assault. She is accused of grabbing a woman and pulling her out of her apartment. Police said Krucker then scratched the woman's face and cut her gums with an unknown object.
A 14-year-old Socrates Place girl was charged Sept. 27 with two counts of domestic violence; she is accused of throwing punches at relatives.
Ish-Shawloni Maple, 20, of Schiller Street, was charged Sept. 25 with domestic violence. Maple is accused of hitting someone in the face with an open hand and a plastic pop bottle.
Nagib O. Salaheddine, 27, of South Miller Road, Fairlawn, was charged Sept. 23 with felonious assault and aggravated menacing, accused of kicking and punching two people.
Cameron I.E. Nelson, 20, of East Wilbeth Road, was charged Sept. 23 with domestic violence. He is accused of dragging a passenger out of his car by the hair and then punching and choked the person. Nelson also threw a 1-year-old out of the car, police said.
William H. Jones, 66, of North Pointe Drive, was charged Sept. 22 with domestic violence and illegal possession of a weapon. Jones is accused of pulling a gun and making threats in a domestic dispute.
Miscellaneous
Frances Bell, 44, of Windsor Avenue, was charged Sept. 28 with soliciting. She is accused of offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer at South Arlington and Clark streets in exchange for 6 gallons of gas.
Stephanie Collins, 36, was charged Sept. 28 with soliciting and obstructing official business. Collins allegedly offered to perform a sex act on an undercover officer at Crosby Street and Westwood Avenue for $15 to $20.
Dhani L. Dykes, 28, was charged Sept. 26 with criminal trespass after being found asleep in the second-level lobby of a South High Street parking garage, police said.
A 14-year-old Elizabeth Parkway girl was charged Sept. 24 with making a false alarm. She is accused of pulling a fire bell at North High School, 985 Gorge Blvd. Students were evacuated from four floors of the building.
Tammy Bender, 35, of Clarkmill Road, Barberton, was charged Sept. 24 with soliciting, accused of offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer at South Arlington and Johnston streets in exchange for $30.
Nicole Sleeth, 22, of Hammel Street, was charged Sept. 24 with soliciting, accused of offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer at Johnston and Windsor streets in exchange for $21.
Darnell E. Archey, 32, of LaCroix Street, was charged Sept. 22 with kidnapping, rape and burglary. He is accused of dragging a woman into a residence in the 700 block of Johnston Street and sexually assaulting her.
Barberton Arrests
Four juveniles, ages 16 and 17, were charged Sept. 27 with receiving stolen property. A Sixth Street Northwest woman reported that her 2002 Saturn was stolen from her driveway. She called police an hour later to report seeing the youths in the car. When the youths saw her, the driver stopped and ran. She identified three of the occupants. An adult passenger, A.J. Michael Phillips, 20, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and arrested on a warrant from Wayne County.
Child enticement
An 11-year-old girl told police she was walking home from school Sept. 25 on Quincy Avenue when a man in a black pickup truck tried to lure her into his vehicle by telling her he had cookies. She ran away.
Bath Township Breaking and entering
Someone tried to break into Dry Cleaning World, 4003 Medina Road, by prying a drive-through window Oct. 1. No entry was gained, police said.
Burglary
Electronic equipment and instruments were taken Sept. 27 from a home in the 4600 block of Rolling View Drive.
Identity theft
Cambridge Home Care, 4085 Embassy Parkway, reported Oct. 1 that someone created fraudulent checks using its checking account number and routing number.
Theft
A diamond and gold heart pendant necklace, valued at $4,000, was taken Sept. 30 from a home in the 2600 block of Olentangy Drive. Copley Township Arrests Donald W. Walker, 36, of Akron, was charged Sept. 27 with criminal mischief. Police said Walker admitted letting air out of the tires of his ex-girlfriend's car at Residence Inn, 120 Montrose West Ave.
Sara J. Bowman, 22, of Barberton, was charged Sept. 25 with theft. She is accused of stealing $200 while working as a cashier at J.C. Penney, 3742 Brookwall Drive.
Coventry Township Arrests
Joshua Beckmann, 22, of North Bender Street, was charged with domestic violence Sept. 23. He is accused pushing a woman at his residence and knocking a pan of water off a stove.
Robert Ford, 50, of Flynn Avenue, was charged with domestic violence. He is accused of threatening bodily harm to a man and throwing dishes at the man.
Thefts
A Greenbay Drive man reported Sept. 24 that tools valued at $2,275 were taken from a secured garage.
A Dollar Drive resident told deputies Sept. 25 that 110 compact discs and a CD player face plate, total value $1,350, were taken from two vehicles at his home.
Cuyahoga Falls Arrests
Fawn V. Gatlin, 33, of North Howard Street, Akron, and Terrance M. Sibley, 42, of Stoner Street, Akron, were charged with theft Sept 24. They are accused of taking $96.30 in merchandise from CVS, 1711 State Road.
Dean M. Miletti, 36, of Grafton Road, Akron, was charged Sept. 22 with theft. He is accused of taking $39.45 in merchandise from BP, 1205 Main St.
Theft offense
Someone entered Urban Rental, 910 Portage Trail, and stole a checkbook Sept. 26.
Domestic violence
Bradley S. Gross, 36, of Northampton Road, was charged Sept. 27 with domestic violence. Police reported that he grabbed a woman by the neck and slammed her on a porch. He then closed a door to keep the woman out of the house, causing her arm to go through the glass, police said.
Fairlawn Arrests
Joseph Null, 42, of Akron, was charged Sept. 30 with receiving stolen property, willful fleeing, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police attempted to stop the 1981 BMW that Null was driving after discovering through a computer check that the plates had been reported stolen. Police said Null fled from the vehicle in the 2000 block of Barrington Road and was found hiding under a bush. Police said suspected cocaine was found in a cigarette pack that Null threw in a yard.
Jarin R. Bryant, 20, of Akron, was charged Sept. 27 with receiving stolen property and misuse of a credit card. She is accused of using a stolen credit card to buy gift cards from Giant Eagle, 3750 W. Market St.
Green Thefts
A Mayfair Road resident told Summit County sheriff's deputies Sept. 26 that someone stole checks and cashed them for $515.81.
Assorted hunting equipment and accessories, total value $1,070, were reported stolen Sept. 21 from a Bay Path Drive garage.
A Karla Drive man told deputies Sept. 21 that someone made four withdrawals totaling $1,967.60 from his bank account.
Lakemore Burglary
A Huron Avenue resident said DVD movies, video games, a digital camera, a printer and $550 were taken from the residence in a break-in Sept. 22. Total loss was estimated at $2,456. New Franklin Burglaries
A small safe and $5,125 were reported stolen after someone broke into a Center Road home Sept. 22.
Someone broke into a Johns Road home and stole video and electronic equipment Sept. 22.
Norton Burglary
A Hametown Road woman reported Sept. 25 that someone took an antique wooden desk, a computer, cooking utensils, food, linens and a car from her garage. She told police she suspects an ex-boyfriend. She said whoever took the items cooked hamburgers and french fries before leaving.
Springfield Township Arrest
A Woodland Road teen reported that he fought with an intruder who fired a gunshot into a television set Sept. 25. During questioning, the teen admitted he made up the story to keep from getting into trouble with his father. He was arrested and ordered to court for obstructing official business.
Thefts
A representative of a Beechwood Drive business told police Sept. 20 that $12,284 in cash and $600 in tools were stolen.
A Krumroy Road resident told police his yard was turfed and his lawn tractor was taken Sept. 26.
Someone obtained the debit card information of a Pressler Road woman and made $540 in purchases Sept. 24, a day before the theft was reported.
A Wilpark Drive woman told police Sept. 19 that someone withdrew $9,231 from her checking and savings accounts Aug. 19.
Stow Domestic violence
Jason R. Dzubay, 29, of North Howard Street, Akron, was charged Sept. 26 with domestic violence.
Eugene D. Washington, 24, of Echo Valley Drive, was charged Sept. 26 with domestic violence, aggravated trespass, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.
Scott L. Green, 38, of Hartville, was charged Sept. 24 with domestic violence and violating a protection order.
Alcohol offenses
David E. Reeves II, 35, of Hudson Drive, Cuyahoga Falls, was charged Sept. 25 with operating a vehicle under the influence and crossing marked lanes.
David J. Juhasz, 20, of Mentor, was charged Sept. 23 with operating a vehicle under the influence, underage drinking, weaving and crossing marked lanes. Two passengers, Jake D. Fawcett, 19, of Willowick, and Anthony S. Novich, 19, of Willoughby, were charged with underage drinking.
Thomas M. Jenior, 30, of Atwater Township, was charged Sept. 22 with operating a vehicle under the influence, enhanced OVI, driving under suspension and using no turn signal.
Miscellaneous
A 14-year-old Parma girl reported a rape Sept. 24. According to officers, the girl was raped between February 2002 and February 2003 in Stow.
A 16-year-old Lyndhurst Avenue boy was charged Sept. 21 with assault. He is accused of punching a boy in the face several times. The other boy, a 16-year-old Bryn Mawr Drive resident, was charged with disorderly conduct after he taunted the Lyndhurst boy by pouring water in his ear as he slept in study hall.
Michael A. Kudrin, 46, of Progress Park Drive, was charged Sept. 19 with disorderly conduct and impersonating a police officer. Following a road-rage incident at Darrow and Graham roads, Kudrin pulled in front of a woman's car, stopped and got out, officers said. He yelled at the woman and showed her a badge, claiming to be a Cleveland police officer, reports said.
Paula J. Singleton, 48, of Delia Avenue, Akron, was charged Sept. 22 with theft and criminal trespass. She and a 16-year-old girl who lives on West Street in Akron are accused of stealing $347.47 worth of items from Wal-Mart, 3520 Hudson Drive. The two had previously been advised not to be on the premises. The girl was also charged with theft and criminal trespass.
Tallmadge Miscellaneous
Anthony M. Stearn, 20, of Donova Lane, Akron, was charged Monday with theft. Stearn is accused of taking $170.84 worth of alcohol from Acme, 600 South Ave. According to reports, Stearn told police he needed the alcohol for a ''naked party'' at the University of Akron. He said he had spent all his money on rent and didn't want to get ''razzed'' for not contributing to the party, reports said.
Gregory A. Brinson Jr., 32, of Dover Avenue, Akron, was charged Sept. 28 with carrying a concealed weapon and violating a protection order. Police patted down Brinson following a traffic stop on West Avenue and discovered a switchblade knife in his pocket, reports said. Brinson reportedly has a protection order against him that prohibits him from having a weapon.

Medina Arrest
Matthew Perkins, 19, of Lafayette Road, was charged Tuesday with receiving stolen property.
Identity theft
A Squires Court woman reported Sept. 26 that someone is using her deceased mother's identity to secure credit. Wadsworth Arrest
Elijuwon King, 20, of Main Street, was charged Sept. 26 with criminal trespassing. He is accused of refusing to leave Wadsworth High School when told to do so by school officials. King reportedly told police he did not leave because he was waiting for his friends.
Portage County
Kent Alcohol offenses
Thomas J. Levandoski, 24, of Lake Street, was charged Sept. 28 with operating a vehicle under the influence. He refused a breath test, reports said.
Tammy S. Coates, 38, of Northeast Avenue, Tallmadge, was charged Sept. 26 with operating a vehicle under the influence. Coates, who reportedly refused a breath test, has six drunken-driving convictions, reports said.
Antwone D. Brown, 37, of Aberdeen Avenue, Akron, was charged Sept. 21 with operating a vehicle under the influence and driving under suspension.
David H. Jones, 29, of Rhodes Road, was charged Sept. 23 with operating a vehicle under the influence.
Thomas L. Obney, 26, of South Water Street, was charged Sept. 22 with disorderly conduct by intoxication and inducing panic. Obney is accused of saying he had a gun in his waistband.
Ashley A. Gibson, 20, of East Waterford Court, Akron, was charged Sept. 23 with operating a vehicle under the influence.
Domestic violence
Walter V. Richards, 38, of Leonard Boulevard, was charged Sept. 24 with domestic violence.
Michael A. Fraley, 37, of Whetstone Drive, was charged Sept. 23 with domestic violence, accused of punching his wife in the face and shoving her to the floor.

Robert S. Lewis, 21, of South Lincoln Street, was charged Sept. 24 with felonious assault.
Matthew A. Ferritto, 21, of Rhodes Road, was charged Sept. 21 with assault and unlawful restraint.
Vanessa S. Hendricks, 19, of North Canton, was charged Sept. 23 with carrying a concealed weapon a handgun and driving under suspension.
Ravenna Domestic violence
Jeremy R. Tipton, 31, of South Diamond Street, was charged Sept. 25 with domestic violence. He is accused of punching, kicking and elbowing his wife.
Mark E. Boyce, 37, of Diamond Circle, was charged Sept. 22 with domestic violence. Boyce is accused of threatening his father and daughter and breaking a chair.
Arrests
Deanglo M. Frost, 18, of Henderson Street, was charged Sept. 27 with illegal possession of weapons, speeding and driving under suspension. Frost was driving a car that had two loaded handguns in the trunk, reports said.
Kristy L. Cowles, 26, of East Cedar Street, was charged Sept. 21 with assault.
Portage sheriff Arrests
John M. Jones, 30, of South Diamond Street, was charged Sept. 20 with operating a vehicle under the influence.
Denzil Deuley, 46, of Deerfield Township, was charged Sept. 21 with two counts of violating a temporary protection order.
A 14-year-old Kent boy was charged Sept. 22 with sexual imposition and public indecency.
Jason H. Malone, 29, of Cleveland Road, Ravenna, was charged Sept. 21 with forgery, obstructing official business and attempted theft.
Louis M. Rinella, 50, of South Euclid, was charged Sept. 21 with passing bad checks.
Streetsboro Theft
Someone came into the police department Sept. 19 to turn himself in for a crime he committed at Wal-Mart. He told police that he had tried to steal three jerseys but was caught, reports said. He told police that he felt bad and wanted to turn himself in. The matter was not pursued.
Stark County
Canal Fulton Extortion
A Sandlewood Drive resident told police Sept. 24 that someone tried to extort $8,000 from her through an Internet scheme.
Burglary
A North Canal Street home was entered on Sept. 25 while the resident was out, and his Xbox video game, total value $500, was stolen.
Assault
Teresa Calderon, 19, of Independent Circle Northeast, was charged with assaulting a man by biting him and striking him at a local outdoor entertainment center Sept. 22.
Jackson Township Arrests
Robin Thomas, 41, of East Cleveland, was booked into the Stark County Jail after Jackson police reported finding $1,971 in stolen merchandise in her vehicle and another $844 in stolen merchandise on her when she was apprehended at Westfield Belden Village on Sept. 23.
Jeffery Kent, 19, of 28th Street Northwest, Canton, was arrested Sept. 22 on warrants charging forgery and theft with two checks totaling $10,000.
Kenevil Taylor, 33, of 10th Street Northeast, Canton, and Gerald Evans, 29, of 15th Street Northeast, Canton, were jailed Sept. 20 on felonious assault charges after a fight in which a man was struck several times in the head on Dressler Road Northwest.
Identity theft
A township resident told Jackson police Sept. 26 that someone used her identity to open six credit cards on which $14,145 in purchases had been made.
Theft
Thieves struck two clothing stores at Westfield Belden Village at about the same time Sept. 26, escaping with $6,000 in men's shirts. At one store, several men took $1,327 worth of shirts from a table near the door. Moments later, three males grabbed $4,800 worth of men's shirts from another store, fleeing while a fourth man distracted workers.
North Canton Arrests
Keith Kiser, 23, of Bradenton, Fla., was booked at the Stark County Jail on Sept. 28 on two counts of assault, burglary, operating a motor vehicle under the influence and disrupting public services following an incident on Pershing Avenue Northeast.
Kevin Weber, 32, of Wise Avenue Northwest, was taken into custody on a warrant charging domestic violence and inducing panic in an incident Sept. 7.
Unregistered pets
North Canton police and the Stark County Humane Society rounded up 11 unlicensed dogs and 27 cats on Sept. 26 following complaints of noxious odors coming from a Bachtel Street Southeast property. The animals were impounded at the Humane Society.
Thefts
A pay phone assembly, including the casing and pedestal, were stolen from a Market Avenue North parking lot Sept. 24.
A Beechwood Avenue Northeast man said a rear window of a van was broken and tools, total value $4,050, were stolen Sept. 22. Uniontown Dangerous plant
The Uniontown Fire Department took three Canal Fulton residents to Akron hospitals Sept. 20 after they admitted consuming a round, plant-like ball known as jimson weed or angel trumpet. One victim was found sitting in the road at Sweitzer Street and Theeland Avenue, talking incoherently. The other two went to the fire station for treatment and were then taken to a hospital. Police found the plant growing in several places in the community.
Wayne County
Wayne sheriff Arrest
Charles E. Lumbar, 43, of Clinton Township, was arrested Wednesday on charges of burglary, aggravated menacing and violating a protective order. He is accused of breaking into his 44-year-old ex-girlfriend's residence and holding a knife to her throat in the 6400 block of Columbus Road. Breaking and entering
A battery valued at $150 was taken Wednesday from a shed in the 7100 block of Fox Lake Road, Green Township.
Burglaries
A camera, a freezer and a canvas case, total value $770, were taken last month from a residence in the 6400 block of Back Orrville Road, Green Township.
A rear patio door was broken Monday, but nothing was taken at a residence in the 14300 block of Galehouse Road, Chippewa Township. Damage to the door was $100.

Akron Drug offenses
Ricky L. Webb Jr., 27, of Laverne Lane, was charged Sept. 26 with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Clark A. Taylor, 36, of Gallipolis, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Jeff E. Rowland, 48, of Canton, was charged with drug abuse. During a traffic stop, police reported discovering crack pipes, drug paraphernalia and a tablet of generic Vicodin.
James W. Rush, 26, of Bloomfield Avenue, was charged Sept. 26 with trafficking in crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine and tampering with evidence. Police said seven rocks of crack cocaine were thrown from a bedroom window, but they found digital scales, 11 grams of crack cocaine and 7 ounces of marijuana packaged for sale in his residence.
Marcus L. Nixon, 26, of Coventry Road, was charged Sept. 25 with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of meth, ecstasy and marijuana, tampering with evidence and obstructing official business. According to reports, police went to a residence in the 1900 block of Newton Street to arrest Nixon on felony warrants. Melissa R. Conley, 18, of Barberton, reportedly delayed opening the door, saying she had just gotten out of the shower. Police said Nixon jumped from a second-story balcony and was chased. Police used a stun gun on him after catching up to him. He reportedly tried to dispose of three bags of meth. Police said they recovered 17 grams of marijuana and ecstasy. Conley and Lavell D. Garrett, 29, of Martha Avenue, who police said was hiding in a bedroom closet, were charged with obstructing justice, a first-degree felony. The charges were elevated because they aided a fugitive who was wanted on first- and second-degree felonies, police said.
Dwight E. Price, 50, of Copley Road, was charged Sept. 24 with possession of heroin following a traffic stop. Police said they saw him leave a suspected drug site. Officers reported that through a car window, they saw him put something in his mouth and swallow. A bag with traces of heroin was found, police said.
Eddie J. Smart, 56, of Vernon Odom Boulevard, was charged Sept. 24 with possession of heroin. Police said they saw Smart stop briefly at a drug location. Two small bundles of heroin were found under his vehicle's passenger seat, police said.
Phelbert R. Lawson III, 20, of Fourth Street Southwest, Michael A. Parish, 20, of Canton, and Martavian J. Thigpen, 18, of Canton, were charged Sept. 21 with possession of crack cocaine and marijuana. During a traffic stop, police said, they saw marijuana in plain view. Crack cocaine was found in an inventory of the vehicle, reports said.
Curtis C. Dixson, 30, homeless, was charged Sept. 19 with trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin, abuse of marijuana and having an open container. Dixson is accused of having 35 small bundles of heroin in his pants and a marijuana blunt and bottle of cognac in the center console.
Theft offenses
A Frederick Boulevard girl, 17, and a Dietz Avenue girl, 17, were charged with theft Sept. 28, accused of hiding clothing valued at $172 in bags at J.C. Penney, 2000 Brittain Road.
A burglary was reported Sept. 28 in the 1000 block of Jason Avenue. Three males were seen exiting a rear door. A computer was missing.
Someone took copper plumbing Sept. 28 from a vacant house in the 200 block of Darrow Road.
A burglary was reported Sept. 27 on Belvidere Way. A VCR, MP3 player, CDs, DVDs and a webcam were taken.
George M. Howes, 22, of Cleveland, was charged Sept. 27 with receiving stolen property and misrepresenting his identity. Police said Howes was sitting in a 2003 Ford Escape that had been reported stolen the day before.
Someone stole 50 feet of copper pipe Sept. 27 from a basement in the 800 block of Avon Street.
Justin M. Evans, 24, of Crosier Street, was charged Sept. 26 with receiving stolen property. Police said Evans was driving a 2000 Dodge Ram that had been stolen three days earlier.
A Lakeshore Boulevard woman told police Sept. 25 that her puppy had been stolen. The dog did not return after the woman let it out at night. The following day, she said, she saw the dog tied up in a yard on Lake Street. When she approached, she saw a man put the dog in a van and leave.
Someone stole copper plumbing Sept. 25 after kicking in the door of a vacant Noble Avenue property.
Kevin J. Polen, 30, of East Hopocan Avenue, Barberton, was charged Sept. 25 with two counts of breaking and entering. Responding to a call of a burglary in progress, officers said Polen was a passenger in a vehicle that left D & R Owens Body Shop and Ace Tire, 465 N. Main St. Police reported finding $3,000 in stolen property in the car.
A burglary was reported Sept. 24 on Fulton Street. Someone removed an air conditioner from a window and took a purse out of the living room.
Superior Drainage, 1175 George Washington Ave., reported a theft Sept. 24 after someone cut a catalytic converter from a company vehicle.
A man told police Sept. 23 that he was robbed at gunpoint while walking behind a building at South Arlington Street and Fourth Avenue. The gunman escaped with $40.
Domestic violence/assault
Deidra A. Krucker, 39, of Anderson Avenue, was charged Sept. 28 with assault. She is accused of grabbing a woman and pulling her out of her apartment. Police said Krucker then scratched the woman's face and cut her gums with an unknown object.
A 14-year-old Socrates Place girl was charged Sept. 27 with two counts of domestic violence; she is accused of throwing punches at relatives.
Ish-Shawloni Maple, 20, of Schiller Street, was charged Sept. 25 with domestic violence. Maple is accused of hitting someone in the face with an open hand and a plastic pop bottle.
Nagib O. Salaheddine, 27, of South Miller Road, Fairlawn, was charged Sept. 23 with felonious assault and aggravated menacing, accused of kicking and punching two people.
Cameron I.E. Nelson, 20, of East Wilbeth Road, was charged Sept. 23 with domestic violence. He is accused of dragging a passenger out of his car by the hair and then punching and choked the person. Nelson also threw a 1-year-old out of the car, police said.
William H. Jones, 66, of North Pointe Drive, was charged Sept. 22 with domestic violence and illegal possession of a weapon. Jones is accused of pulling a gun and making threats in a domestic dispute.
Miscellaneous
Frances Bell, 44, of Windsor Avenue, was charged Sept. 28 with soliciting. She is accused of offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer at South Arlington and Clark streets in exchange for 6 gallons of gas.
Stephanie Collins, 36, was charged Sept. 28 with soliciting and obstructing official business. Collins allegedly offered to perform a sex act on an undercover officer at Crosby Street and Westwood Avenue for $15 to $20.
Dhani L. Dykes, 28, was charged Sept. 26 with criminal trespass after being found asleep in the second-level lobby of a South High Street parking garage, police said.
A 14-year-old Elizabeth Parkway girl was charged Sept. 24 with making a false alarm. She is accused of pulling a fire bell at North High School, 985 Gorge Blvd. Students were evacuated from four floors of the building.
Tammy Bender, 35, of Clarkmill Road, Barberton, was charged Sept. 24 with soliciting, accused of offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer at South Arlington and Johnston streets in exchange for $30.
Nicole Sleeth, 22, of Hammel Street, was charged Sept. 24 with soliciting, accused of offering to perform a sex act on an undercover officer at Johnston and Windsor streets in exchange for $21.
Darnell E. Archey, 32, of LaCroix Street, was charged Sept. 22 with kidnapping, rape and burglary. He is accused of dragging a woman into a residence in the 700 block of Johnston Street and sexually assaulting her.
Barberton Arrests
Four juveniles, ages 16 and 17, were charged Sept. 27 with receiving stolen property. A Sixth Street Northwest woman reported that her 2002 Saturn was stolen from her driveway. She called police an hour later to report seeing the youths in the car. When the youths saw her, the driver stopped and ran. She identified three of the occupants. An adult passenger, A.J. Michael Phillips, 20, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and arrested on a warrant from Wayne County.
Child enticement
An 11-year-old girl told police she was walking home from school Sept. 25 on Quincy Avenue when a man in a black pickup truck tried to lure her into his vehicle by telling her he had cookies. She ran away.
Bath Township Breaking and entering
Someone tried to break into Dry Cleaning World, 4003 Medina Road, by prying a drive-through window Oct. 1. No entry was gained, police said.

Electronic equipment and instruments were taken Sept. 27 from a home in the 4600 block of Rolling View Drive.
Identity theft
Cambridge Home Care, 4085 Embassy Parkway, reported Oct. 1 that someone created fraudulent checks using its checking account number and routing number.

A diamond and gold heart pendant necklace, valued at $4,000, was taken Sept. 30 from a home in the 2600 block of Olentangy Drive. Copley Township Arrests Donald W. Walker, 36, of Akron, was charged Sept. 27 with criminal mischief. Police said Walker admitted letting air out of the tires of his ex-girlfriend's car at Residence Inn, 120 Montrose West Ave.
Sara J. Bowman, 22, of Barberton, was charged Sept. 25 with theft. She is accused of stealing $200 while working as a cashier at J.C. Penney, 3742 Brookwall Drive.
Coventry Township Arrests
Joshua Beckmann, 22, of North Bender Street, was charged with domestic violence Sept. 23. He is accused pushing a woman at his residence and knocking a pan of water off a stove.
Robert Ford, 50, of Flynn Avenue, was charged with domestic violence. He is accused of threatening bodily harm to a man and throwing dishes at the man.
Thefts
A Greenbay Drive man reported Sept. 24 that tools valued at $2,275 were taken from a secured garage.
A Dollar Drive resident told deputies Sept. 25 that 110 compact discs and a CD player face plate, total value $1,350, were taken from two vehicles at his home.
Cuyahoga Falls Arrests
Fawn V. Gatlin, 33, of North Howard Street, Akron, and Terrance M. Sibley, 42, of Stoner Street, Akron, were charged with theft Sept 24. They are accused of taking $96.30 in merchandise from CVS, 1711 State Road.
Dean M. Miletti, 36, of Grafton Road, Akron, was charged Sept. 22 with theft. He is accused of taking $39.45 in merchandise from BP, 1205 Main St.

Someone entered Urban Rental, 910 Portage Trail, and stole a checkbook Sept. 26.
Domestic violence
Bradley S. Gross, 36, of Northampton Road, was charged Sept. 27 with domestic violence. Police reported that he grabbed a woman by the neck and slammed her on a porch. He then closed a door to keep the woman out of the house, causing her arm to go through the glass, police said.
Fairlawn Arrests
Joseph Null, 42, of Akron, was charged Sept. 30 with receiving stolen property, willful fleeing, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police attempted to stop the 1981 BMW that Null was driving after discovering through a computer check that the plates had been reported stolen. Police said Null fled from the vehicle in the 2000 block of Barrington Road and was found hiding under a bush. Police said suspected cocaine was found in a cigarette pack that Null threw in a yard.
Jarin R. Bryant, 20, of Akron, was charged Sept. 27 with receiving stolen property and misuse of a credit card. She is accused of using a stolen credit card to buy gift cards from Giant Eagle, 3750 W. Market St.

A Mayfair Road resident told Summit County sheriff's deputies Sept. 26 that someone stole checks and cashed them for $515.81.
Assorted hunting equipment and accessories, total value $1,070, were reported stolen Sept. 21 from a Bay Path Drive garage.
A Karla Drive man told deputies Sept. 21 that someone made four withdrawals totaling $1,967.60 from his bank account.
Lakemore Burglary

Norton Burglary
A Hametown Road woman reported Sept. 25 that someone took an antique wooden desk, a computer, cooking utensils, food, linens and a car from her garage. She told police she suspects an ex-boyfriend. She said whoever took the items cooked hamburgers and french fries before leaving.
Springfield Township Arrest
A Woodland Road teen reported that he fought with an intruder who fired a gunshot into a television set Sept. 25. During questioning, the teen admitted he made up the story to keep from getting into trouble with his father. He was arrested and ordered to court for obstructing official business.

A representative of a Beechwood Drive business told police Sept. 20 that $12,284 in cash and $600 in tools were stolen.
A Krumroy Road resident told police his yard was turfed and his lawn tractor was taken Sept. 26.
Someone obtained the debit card information of a Pressler Road woman and made $540 in purchases Sept. 24, a day before the theft was reported.
A Wilpark Drive woman told police Sept. 19 that someone withdrew $9,231 from her checking and savings accounts Aug. 19.

Scott L. Green, 38, of Hartville, was charged Sept. 24 with domestic violence and violating a protection order.

David E. Reeves II, 35, of Hudson Drive, Cuyahoga Falls, was charged Sept. 25 with operating a vehicle under the influence and crossing marked lanes.
David J. Juhasz, 20, of Mentor, was charged Sept. 23 with operating a vehicle under the influence, underage drinking, weaving and crossing marked lanes. Two passengers, Jake D. Fawcett, 19, of Willowick, and Anthony S. Novich, 19, of Willoughby, were charged with underage drinking.
Thomas M. Jenior, 30, of Atwater Township, was charged Sept. 22 with operating a vehicle under the influence, enhanced OVI, driving under suspension and using no turn signal.

A 14-year-old Parma girl reported a rape Sept. 24. According to officers, the girl was raped between February 2002 and February 2003 in Stow.
A 16-year-old Lyndhurst Avenue boy was charged Sept. 21 with assault. He is accused of punching a boy in the face several times. The other boy, a 16-year-old Bryn Mawr Drive resident, was charged with disorderly conduct after he taunted the Lyndhurst boy by pouring water in his ear as he slept in study hall.
Michael A. Kudrin, 46, of Progress Park Drive, was charged Sept. 19 with disorderly conduct and impersonating a police officer. Following a road-rage incident at Darrow and Graham roads, Kudrin pulled in front of a woman's car, stopped and got out, officers said. He yelled at the woman and showed her a badge, claiming to be a Cleveland police officer, reports said.
Paula J. Singleton, 48, of Delia Avenue, Akron, was charged Sept. 22 with theft and criminal trespass. She and a 16-year-old girl who lives on West Street in Akron are accused of stealing $347.47 worth of items from Wal-Mart, 3520 Hudson Drive. The two had previously been advised not to be on the premises. The girl was also charged with theft and criminal trespass.

Anthony M. Stearn, 20, of Donova Lane, Akron, was charged Monday with theft. Stearn is accused of taking $170.84 worth of alcohol from Acme, 600 South Ave. According to reports, Stearn told police he needed the alcohol for a ''naked party'' at the University of Akron. He said he had spent all his money on rent and didn't want to get ''razzed'' for not contributing to the party, reports said.
Gregory A. Brinson Jr., 32, of Dover Avenue, Akron, was charged Sept. 28 with carrying a concealed weapon and violating a protection order. Police patted down Brinson following a traffic stop on West Avenue and discovered a switchblade knife in his pocket, reports said. Brinson reportedly has a protection order against him that prohibits him from having a weapon.

Thomas J. Levandoski, 24, of Lake Street, was charged Sept. 28 with operating a vehicle under the influence. He refused a breath test, reports said.
Tammy S. Coates, 38, of Northeast Avenue, Tallmadge, was charged Sept. 26 with operating a vehicle under the influence. Coates, who reportedly refused a breath test, has six drunken-driving convictions, reports said.
Antwone D. Brown, 37, of Aberdeen Avenue, Akron, was charged Sept. 21 with operating a vehicle under the influence and driving under suspension.

Streetsboro Theft

A Sandlewood Drive resident told police Sept. 24 that someone tried to extort $8,000 from her through an Internet scheme.
Burglary
A North Canal Street home was entered on Sept. 25 while the resident was out, and his Xbox video game, total value $500, was stolen.
Assault
Teresa Calderon, 19, of Independent Circle Northeast, was charged with assaulting a man by biting him and striking him at a local outdoor entertainment center Sept. 22.
Jackson Township Arrests
Robin Thomas, 41, of East Cleveland, was booked into the Stark County Jail after Jackson police reported finding $1,971 in stolen merchandise in her vehicle and another $844 in stolen merchandise on her when she was apprehended at Westfield Belden Village on Sept. 23.
Jeffery Kent, 19, of 28th Street Northwest, Canton, was arrested Sept. 22 on warrants charging forgery and theft with two checks totaling $10,000.
Kenevil Taylor, 33, of 10th Street Northeast, Canton, and Gerald Evans, 29, of 15th Street Northeast, Canton, were jailed Sept. 20 on felonious assault charges after a fight in which a man was struck several times in the head on Dressler Road Northwest.
Identity theft
A township resident told Jackson police Sept. 26 that someone used her identity to open six credit cards on which $14,145 in purchases had been made.
Theft
Thieves struck two clothing stores at Westfield Belden Village at about the same time Sept. 26, escaping with $6,000 in men's shirts. At one store, several men took $1,327 worth of shirts from a table near the door. Moments later, three males grabbed $4,800 worth of men's shirts from another store, fleeing while a fourth man distracted workers.
North Canton Arrests
Keith Kiser, 23, of Bradenton, Fla., was booked at the Stark County Jail on Sept. 28 on two counts of assault, burglary, operating a motor vehicle under the influence and disrupting public services following an incident on Pershing Avenue Northeast.
Kevin Weber, 32, of Wise Avenue Northwest, was taken into custody on a warrant charging domestic violence and inducing panic in an incident Sept. 7.
Unregistered pets
North Canton police and the Stark County Humane Society rounded up 11 unlicensed dogs and 27 cats on Sept. 26 following complaints of noxious odors coming from a Bachtel Street Southeast property. The animals were impounded at the Humane Society.
Thefts
A pay phone assembly, including the casing and pedestal, were stolen from a Market Avenue North parking lot Sept. 24.
A Beechwood Avenue Northeast man said a rear window of a van was broken and tools, total value $4,050, were stolen Sept. 22. Uniontown Dangerous plant
The Uniontown Fire Department took three Canal Fulton residents to Akron hospitals Sept. 20 after they admitted consuming a round, plant-like ball known as jimson weed or angel trumpet. One victim was found sitting in the road at Sweitzer Street and Theeland Avenue, talking incoherently. The other two went to the fire station for treatment and were then taken to a hospital. Police found the plant growing in several places in the community.

Charles E. Lumbar, 43, of Clinton Township, was arrested Wednesday on charges of burglary, aggravated menacing and violating a protective order.
