Summit County
Akron Drugs
Four people were charged Oct. 4 with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia: Marva L. Davis, 38, of West State Street, Barberton; Kathy Hunt, 41, of Doyle Street; Ronald Keith, 40, of Hammel Street; and Bert A. Veal, 41, of Seward Avenue. Veal is accused of answering the door of a residence in the 500 block of Crosby Street with a crack pipe in his hand. Police said they saw several people hiding in a bedroom, where they found crack cocaine and four crack pipes.
Roberto A. Gonzalez, 40, and Francisco R. Reyes, 43, both of West South Street, were charged Sept. 30 with having open containers of beer, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said the two drove away from a known drug house on Bachtel Avenue. Officers reported finding open cans of beer, a rock of crack cocaine in a cigarette pack and a crack pipe in the car.
Anthony R. Pope, 23, of West Market Street, was charged Sept. 29 with trafficking in drugs, possession of drugs, possession of marijuana, carrying a concealed weapon, illegal possession of weapons and tampering with evidence. Police said Pope ran from them on Baughman Street but was apprehended after he fell. A .38-caliber handgun and a bag containing 2.7 grams of crack cocaine were found on him, officers said.
Domestic violence/assault
William A. Thompson, 37, of Chalker Street, was charged Oct. 5 with domestic violence. He is accused of punching a woman in the face and hitting her with a hammer.
A man reported Oct. 4 that he was stabbed outside Club 631 at 671 N. Howard St.
Antoinette L. Smith, 33, of Bachtel Avenue, was charged Oct. 4 with felonious assault and domestic violence. She is accused of stabbing a man in the back in a custody dispute.
Edward R. Nagy, 33, was charged Oct. 4 with domestic violence, accused of hitting, kicking and choking a man.
Letroy L. Graham, 24, of West York Street, was charged Oct. 4 with domestic violence, accused of hitting a woman several times in the face.
Patrick M. Palmer, 22, of Vaniman Street, was charged Oct. 4 with aggravated burglary, domestic violence and assault. He is accused of forcing his way into a residence and shoving and kicking a woman.
Kimberly A. Wheeler, 31, of Breiding Road, was charged Oct. 3 with domestic violence, accused of striking a man in the head with a pot.
Raymond C. Hill, 24, of Allyn Street, was charged Oct. 2 with domestic violence. He is accused of slapping a woman in the face several times.
Edward J. King Jr., 43, of Cliffside Drive, was charged Oct. 1 with domestic violence, accused of slapping a woman in the mouth.
Richard T. Gamble, 26, of Celtic Street, was charged Oct. 1 with domestic violence.
Milissa M. Morris, 33, of Yale Street, was charged Oct. 1 with assault, accused of kicking an officer three or four times. The officer was hit once in the chest and once in the groin, reports said.
A 27-year-old man arrived at Akron General Medical Center, 400 Wabash Ave., with a gunshot wound to his upper leg Sept. 29. He refused to provide information about the shooting.
Rapes
A woman told police Oct. 1 that she was raped by two males at a Talbot Avenue residence.
A rape was reported Sept. 28 as having occurred Sept. 15 on Spicer Street, police said.
Robberies
Kevin B. Fisher, 27, was charged Oct. 2 with aggravated robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, failing to comply and obstructing official business. Police said Fisher was waiting in a woman's vehicle when she left Giant Eagle, 484 Waterloo Road, and he took her car at knifepoint. Fisher led police on a short chase before getting into an accident at Bruner and Clark streets, officers said. Police said he ran and eventually hid under a car on Matthews Street, where he was apprehended.
Alvin L. Brown, 40, of Orrin Street, was charged Sept. 29 with aggravated robbery. Police said the robber demanded money from a clerk at Pizza Serena, 232 E. Cuyahoga Falls Ave. Police said he had his hand in a bag that was pointed at the clerk, indicating he had a weapon. He reached into an open register, took $270, thanked her and left, police said. Officers apprehended Brown a short time later with $265 in his pocket.
A man told police that two men hit him Sept. 28 and took his cell phone at South Main and East Mill streets.
Burglaries
James E. Edwards, 24, of Eastwood Avenue, was charged Oct. 3 with burglary. He is accused of prying open the door of a Boulevard Street residence, pouring bleach onto the carpet and taking keys and a cell phone.
A burglary was reported Sept. 29 in the 600 block of Roslyn Avenue. A resident told police that $20,000 in $100 bills was taken from a dresser.
A break-in was reported Sept. 29 at Fleet Maintenance Service, 1350 Kelly Ave. Someone broke a window to get in and took $600 from a cash box.
Thefts
Long's Auto Haus, 765 S. Arlington St., reported Oct. 3 that three catalytic converters had been cut off vehicles parked on the lot.
Frank A. Knupp, 27, of Massillon Road, was charged Oct. 1 with theft. He is accused of taking a bottle of whiskey from the Acme store at 2420 Wedgewood Drive.
Latonya C. McGhee, 20, of Wilmot Street, was charged Oct. 1 with theft. She is accused of concealing clothes under her shirt at Spencer Gifts, 2000 Brittain Road.
Brandy S. Brown, 27, of West Sunset View Drive, was charged with theft Sept. 28. She is accused of pushing a shopping cart containing unpaid merchandise worth $354 out of J.C. Penney, 2400 Romig Road.
Miscellaneous
Christine J. Foster, 27, of Litchfield Street, was charged Oct. 5 with soliciting. She is accused of offering to perform a sex act for an undercover officer at Buchtel and Middlebury avenues.
David A. Sines, 46, was charged Oct. 4 with disorderly conduct by intoxication after police said he was found passed on a sidewalk on East Market Street. He had urinated on himself and was unable to walk without help, police said. The day before, police said, he was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass after he was found passed out next to the CSX track.
Jeffery A. Gabet, 51, of Pitkin Avenue, was charged Oct. 3 with menacing, accused of threatening a neighbor.
Marvin G. Watson, 44, of Andrew Street, was charged Oct. 2 with carrying a concealed weapon after police reported seeing him drive the wrong way on Raymond Street. They said they found a .22-caliber handgun in the vehicle's center console.
A resident of the 1200 block of Tonawanda Avenue told police Oct. 2 that she discovered a bullet hole in her bedroom ceiling and a bullet on a table.
Someone shot eight bullets into a vehicle parked in the 900 block of Bloomfield Avenue on Oct 1.
Louis G. Bucey, 52, of Lloyd Street, was charged Oct. 1 with discharging a firearm and illegal possession of a weapon. Police responding to a domestic disturbance said Bucey was found sitting on a couch holding a shotgun. In a brief standoff, police said, Bucey was seen loading the shotgun. He then surrendered, reports said.
Hector M. Zepada, 43, of Johnston Street, was charged Sept. 30 with discharging a firearm, illegal possession of a weapon and failing to secure dangerous ordnance. Zepada is accused of firing a shot in the air to scare off children. The gun was found in a toy box in the home, police said.
Brett L. Schultz, 23, of Hillman Road, was charged Sept. 30 with using a weapon while intoxicated. Police reported Schultz brought a shotgun to the Last Quarter bar, 1895 Triplett Blvd., after a man threatened him. Schultz told police he realized he had made a mistake, and he took the gun home.
A school employee reported animal cruelty Sept. 29 at Seiberling Elementary School, 400 Brittain Road, after a class's pet hamster was found floating in a bucket of water.
George P. Garkovich, 24, of Beardsley Street, was charged Sept. 29 with illegal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance. Police said Garkovich had a sawed-off shotgun within arm's reach on a couch under a blanket.
Someone put sugar in the gas tank of a vehicle parked Sept. 27 on South Toby Terrace.
Barberton Arrests
Dale E. Connell Jr., 23, of Akron, was charged Oct. 9 with felony domestic violence.
Timmy Graham, 39, of Doylestown, was charged Oct. 7 with assault after he allegedly pushed a co-worker at Marco's Pizza, 139 Wooster Road N. Graham told police he thought his co-worker ''disrespected'' his wife.
Aggravated robbery
A man entered Big Lots, 161 Wooster Road N, on Oct. 2 and handed a clerk a note that read, ''This is a hostile situation.'' The clerk and a co-worker took the man to an office, where he demanded cash. He fled with $700.
Burglary
More than $300 and video games were among the items taken during a home burglary Oct. 7 in the 300 block of Third Street Northwest.
Suspicious person
A Herms Court woman told police Oct. 4 that a man picked up her 2-year-old son and sat him down next to him as they rode on a Metro bus. She said the man said her son was ''clean and beautiful.'' She told police she grabbed her son and took him to sit with her, while the man continued to ask her questions about the boy.
Bath Township Arrests
Three people were charged Oct. 1 with transient vending without a permit. Jason Iorio, 23, of Arizona; Joshua Gohr, 24, of Florida; and Richard Hixenbaum, 19, who gave no address, were selling magazines door to door. All were using different sales pitches touting fundraising for different organizations. The three were working for Integrity Promotions of Texas. Cuyahoga Falls Theft offenses
Thompson Electric reported a theft Oct. 2 at a job site in the 3700 block of State Road. Twenty pieces of PVC pipe, worth $1,729, were stolen.
A burglary was reported Oct. 1 in the 2200 block of Sutton Drive after someone entered a dog door and took a laptop, PlayStation 3 system and video game. The items were valued at $2,160.
Miscellaneous
William J. Boggs, 20, of Seventh Street Northwest, Barberton, was charged Sept. 29 with felonious assault after he and two juveniles allegedly attacked a 23-year-old man on Winter Parkway. The victim suffered a collapsed lung. The juveniles, both 17, are from Sterling and Smithville. Both were charged with felonious assault.
Lindsey E. Schmidt, 22, of Sixth Street, was charged Sept. 21 with public indecency. According to reports, Schmidt walked into her former place of employment, Sunoco, 2113 State Road, where she allegedly exposed her breasts and fondled them. Police said she was recorded on the store video and witnesses also observed the act.
Brian A. Donaldson, 22, of Notre Dame Avenue, was charged Sept. 30 with disorderly conduct by intoxication. Police said they found Donaldson lying unconscious on his porch.
Fairlawn Arrests
Danny Larry, 47, of Cleveland, was arrested Aug. 8 on traffic charges and misdemeanor warrants from Norwalk and a probation violation from Huron County. Officers stopped Larry on Interstate 77 for an equipment violation. A computer check revealed he had no driving privileges. He was cited with driving under suspension.
Sexual assault
A 26-year-old woman reported Oct. 7 that she was sexually assaulted the night before by a man who offered to give her and her girlfriend a ride home. She said the man drove them to his home on Grenfal Road. Her friend told police that while she was going to the restroom, the man pulled the victim into a bedroom and assaulted her.
Theft
A store clerk reportedly confessed to making fraudulent returns while working for Life Uniform in Summit Mall. She admitted taking $400 to $500 between July and October, police said.
Green Rape
Summit County sheriff's deputies were investigating the Sept. 29 report of a Uniontown woman who said that two men gave her 15-year-old daughter alcohol and raped her at a residence near the victim's home.
Theft
A Springfield Lake Boulevard resident told deputies Sept. 29 that a shed he used on Lindakay Drive was forced open and a pizza oven and assorted tools, worth a total of $10,350, were taken.
Aggravated menacing
A South Arlington Road man, 51, told deputies Sept. 29 that he was confronted at his home by two men armed with rifles and handguns. He escaped through the brush but suffered cuts and abrasions, which were treated by Green paramedics.
Forgery
A Mayfair Road woman reported Sept. 27 that a check was stolen from her and forged for $913.
Hudson Miscellaneous
Robert J. Clark, 44, of Atterbury Boulevard, was charged Oct. 3 with assault. He was accused of attacking his father-in-law.
Michael H. Riller, 28, of Hidden Lake Drive, Stow, was charged Oct. 3 with operating a vehicle under the influence after a crash at Brubaker's Pub, 5823 Darrow Road.
Lakemore Theft
The manager of a Canton Road residence discovered Oct. 1 that an overhead furnace was taken. Load-bearing beams and overhead garage doors were damaged. A floor drain was filled with cement. Loss was estimated at $7,500.
Burglary
A Mohican Boulevard resident said someone entered her home Sept. 26 through a bedroom window and took a debit card plus $1,500 from a lockbox.
Norton Theft
Victor Cart, 21, of Akron, and Kurt Deluca, 20, were charged Oct. 9 with breaking and entering and theft. Police said they found the two changing a flat tire behind Wind Beneath My Wings Church, 3081 Barber Road. Inside the car were items reportedly taken from a boat at Norman and Sons Body Shop, 3053 Barber Road, and from trucks at the church.
Identity theft
A Hillier Road woman reported Oct. 3 that someone used her information to secure a credit card. The card was used to charge about $50 in Washington.
Springfield Township Thefts
Two women and two girls were arrested Sept. 30 after a security worker reported seeing them take $643 in clothing from a South Arlington Road store. Sachet Carter, 18, of Nome Avenue, Akron, and Chevella Wilder, 22, of South Arlington Road, were charged with theft and summoned to Akron Municipal Court. A Safer Plaza girl, 16, and a Newton Street, Akron, girl, 14, were summoned to Summit County Juvenile Court and released to their mothers.
A Swartz Road resident said his utility trailer was taken from a neighbor's yard between Sept. 30 and Oct. 2. Total value was estimated at $1,000.
Burglary
Tools and other items, worth a total of $785, were reported stolen Sept. 30 by an Albrecht Avenue resident, who said someone entered his home through a rear window.
Stow Alcohol/drug offenses
James R. Orlando, 29, of Lillian Road, was charged Sept. 30 with speeding and operating a vehicle under the influence.
Brandon W. Wright, 27, of West Main Street, Kent, was charged Sept. 30 with operating a vehicle under the influence.
Luis A. Holguin-Juarez, 20, of Uniontown, was charged Sept. 29 with operating a vehicle under the influence, underage drinking, driving left of center and failing to use a turn signal.
Ryan A. Perrotta, 25, of Wyndham Ridge Drive, was charged Sept. 28 with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in marijuana, drug possession, possession of prescription drugs and having tinted windows. A K-9 unit reacted to his car during a traffic stop and police reported finding 18 grams of cocaine, 24 grams of marijuana and $1,765.
Thefts
A break-in was reported Oct. 2 at Spectrum Surgical, 4575 Hudson Road. Police said someone pried open a garage door and took tools.
Robert E. Ezell, 35, of Ashtabula, was charged Oct. 1 with theft and fleeing and eluding. Police said Ezell stole a $900 TV from Radio Shack, 4288 Kent Road. Police also charged Ashley N. Hayes, 21, and Lawrence A. Molek, 40, both of Niles, with complicity to theft.
Kathleen E. Jameson, 40, of Roosevelt Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls, was charged Oct. 1 with theft. Jameson was accused of taking 15 $5 gift cards from Target, 4200 Kent Road, where she was employed.
Bilal S. Muhammad II, 23, of Bedford, was charged Sept. 27 with theft and falsification. Police said Muhammad reported that he was robbed at gunpoint at Aldi's, 3804 Fishcreek Road, but it was an attempt to conceal an $8,600 theft.
Rape
Two Stow women told police Sept. 29 that they were raped by a family member.
Medina County
Medina Arrests
Sandra Forcier, 45, of Chippewa Road, was charged Oct. 3 with felony theft.
Marlon Johnson, 32, of Medina, was charged Oct. 4 with telephone harassment.
Sherisha Law, 24, of North Harmony Street, was charged Oct. 3 with two counts of obstructing justice.
Elijah K. Medley, 31, of Canal Fulton, and Aaron Medley, 22, of Copley, were arrested Oct. 4. Elijah Medley was charged with drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business. Aaron Medley was charged with two counts of driving under suspension and obstructing official business.
Medina sheriff Theft
A forklift valued at $65,000 was stolen from a construction site at Stony Hill Church, 276 Stony Hill Road, Granger Township, Oct. 7. The forklift was found in Hinckley two days later.
Wadsworth Arrests
Brett A. Harris, 35, of Third Street, was charged Oct. 2 with threatening domestic violence after he allegedly threatened to harm his girlfriend.
Burglary
Someone broke into a home in the 600 block of Sweetwater Drive on Oct. 7. Nothing appeared to be missing. The intruder left a vulgar note on a table.
Tools were taken Oct. 6 or 7 from a garage attached to a home in the 400 block of Tulip Trail.
Theft
Taylormade and Cobra golf clubs, worth a total of $2,600, were taken Oct. 6 or 7 from a truck in the driveway in the 300 block of Ivanhoe Avenue.
Portage County
Brimfield Township Theft offenses
Jacqueline A. Pifer, 45, of North Adams Street, Akron, was charged Sept. 30 with the theft of a TV valued at $1,009 from Wal-Mart, 250 Tallmadge Road. Terrance L. Owens, 25, of South Van Buren Avenue, Barberton, and Christine M. Pagan, 26, of Selzer Street, Akron, were also charged with theft.
A burglary was reported Oct. 3 at an office at Relax Inn, 4423 State Route 43. Someone took $2,215.
OVI
Susan J. O'Brien, 45, of Alphada Avenue, Akron, was charged Oct. 1 with operating a vehicle under the influence, endangering children and having an open container. Police said they saw O'Brien vomiting out of her vehicle on the side of Tallmadge Road. A 3-year-old boy was in the back seat without a seat belt, reports said. Police said O'Brien told them she had urinated in her shorts because her grandson scared her. Police saw an open bottle of alcohol in the cup holder, reports said.
Kent Alcohol offenses
Amanda J. Pitman, 21, of Randolph Road, Mogadore, was charged Oct. 5 with operating a vehicle under the influence and having no taillights.
Rebecca L. Stuntz, 58, of Spaulding Drive, was charged Sept. 29 with operating a vehicle under the influence. Police said she drove left of center on Silver Meadows Boulevard, almost causing an accident with police.
Casey M. Beswick, 20, of Alpha Drive, was charged Sept. 29 with operating a vehicle under the influence.
Arson
Kevin M. Cushin, 20, of South Willow Street, was charged Sept. 30 with arson after he allegedly threw an aerosol can into a couch fire. He wanted to see it explode, reports said.
Ravenna Alcohol/drug offenses
Jason C. Ellis, 36, of Elm Street, was charged Oct. 4 with operating a vehicle under the influence, and refusing to take a breath test.
Theresa F. Karasek, 43, of South Walnut Street, was charged Oct. 2 with disorderly conduct by intoxication and resisting arrest. Police said Karasek was abusive during booking, spit on an officer and grabbed an officer in the groin during a struggle.
Hobart B. Ayers, 54, of Blitz Road, Kent, was charged Oct. 3 with operating a vehicle under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and not using turn signals.
Kim W. Hysell, 50, of King Street, was charged Sept. 29 with operating a vehicle under the influence, refusing a breath test and not having taillights.
Jonathon D. Svarney, 25, of Girard, was charged Sept. 29 with operating a vehicle under the influence and failing to obey traffic control devices. Svarney allegedly drove through two red lights on Main Street and refused a breath test.
Assault/domestic violence
Joseph H. Copley, 52, of South Walnut Street, was charged Oct. 2 with assault. He is accused of hitting a juvenile in the face in front of the courthouse. He was intoxicated, police said.
William J. Grotemeyer Jr., 42, of Elm Street, was charged Sept. 28 with domestic violence. He is accused of hitting a child in the head, causing a cut.
Keith D. Cassi, 37, of Jones Avenue, was charged Oct. 1 with felonious assault.
Theft
Kenny M. Stemple Jr., 23, of Van Buren Avenue, was charged Oct. 3 with theft. He is accused of taking two bottles of alcohol from Giant Eagle, 909 E. Main St. Portage sheriff Warrants
Joshua L. Davis, 25, of West Highland Avenue, Ravenna, was charged Oct. 4 with aggravated possession of drugs and receiving stolen property. Davis was arrested Sept. 4 in Alabama and was extradited to Portage County.
Will Colbert, 52, of Hopkinson Avenue, Ravenna, was charged Sept. 26 with trafficking in cocaine.
Robert S. Lewis, 21, of South Lincoln Street, Kent, was charged Sept. 27 with felonious assault.
Phillip E. Battles, 42, of Tallmadge Road, Kent, was charged Sept. 28 with domestic violence, possession of cocaine, criminal damaging and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Stark County
Canal Fulton Arrest
Donald Solaro, 32, of Sixth Street, Akron, was transported from the Summit County Jail to Canal Fulton Oct. 3 on warrants charging two counts each of forgery and fraud. He was booked at the Stark County Jail.
Theft
Four kayaks, worth a total of $1,155, were reported stolen Sept. 30 from the Canal Fulton Livery, 219 W. Cherry St.
Jackson Township Arrests
Malachi Rushin, 23, of Foxhaven Avenue Northwest, was booked at the Stark County Jail on Oct. 2 on a domestic violence charge. Police said he hit a woman in the eye at his home.
On Oct. 2, Canton police arrested John Michalek, 43, of McKinley Avenue, Canton, and turned him over to Jackson Township police on a warrant charging forgery. He was booked at the Stark County Jail.
Theft
A resident of Henry's Mill Circle, Canton, told Jackson police a briefcase, stun gun, pen and a leather portfolio, worth a total of $1,000, were stolen from his car at a Dressler Road Northwest business Sept. 30. A few hours later, all but the stun gun was recovered by police behind a Whipple Avenue Northwest business.
North Canton Arrests
Three juveniles, two age 17 and one 16, were booked Sept. 29 at the Stark County Juvenile Attention Center after North Canton police arrested them following a break-in at a Valley Drive garage. A neighbor saw four youths enter the garage, and several items were left outside. Police watched for their return to pick up the items, but instead apprehended three about an hour later in a car containing other stolen items. A fourth suspect is still being sought.
Thefts
An Ellesmere Avenue Northwest woman reported a laptop computer stolen from her home Oct. 5. No value was listed for the computer.
A Canton man, 28, said someone took his cell phone, stereo and other items, worth a total of $850, from a car parked Sept. 29 on Terrace Road Northwest.
Uniontown Trademark counterfeiting
Uniontown police ordered a Cincinnati woman, 35, to leave the Hartville Flea Market on Sept. 29, accusing her of selling knockoff purses with the names of Gucci, Coach, Louis Vuitton and Prada. No charges were filed, but more than 11,000 purses and wallets were seized for evidence. The vendor said the purses had been purchased in New York.
Burglary

Wayne sheriff Arrests
Darrin J. Keeling, 38, of Chippewa Township, was arrested Oct. 7 on a felony charge of domestic violence. He is accused of striking his 34-year-old wife at their home on Portage Road.
Gregory R. Price, 39, of Sterling, was arrested Oct. 8 on a charge of felonious assault. He is accused of driving his father's 1996 Toyota into a 20-year-old man in the 13800 block of Kauffman Avenue, Milton Township. The victim suffered severe injuries to his chest and face, police said.
Domestic violence
A 29-year-old woman reported Oct. 7 that she jumped from a car that her husband was driving at Doylestown and Shorle roads, Chippewa Township. The woman told a deputy that she feared for her life after her husband grabbed and pushed her against a car window.
Theft
A four-wheeler and two crossbows, worth a total of $3,450, were reported stolen Oct. 9 from a garage in the 3100 block of Welty Road, East Union Township.
A four-wheeler valued at $3,125 was taken Oct. 9 from a garage in the 2300 block of Eby Road, Baughman Township.
A saw, air compressor and other tools, worth a total of $2,610, were reported stolen Oct. 6 from a home in the 12200 block of North Elyria Road, Congress Township.
The sheriff's office was told Oct. 4 that tenants at a home in the 5700 block of Camp Road, Chester Township, took two microwaves, a sweeper and a coffee table when they moved.
Two radios, a television and clothing were reported stolen Oct. 5 from a truck in the 1300 block of Blachleyville Road, Wooster Township.
A circular saw, five gallons of gasoline and $1,100 were reported stolen Oct. 5 from a home in the 13000 block of Mark Path, Chippewa Township.
Wooster Arrests
Charles D. Crosby, 49, of Wooster, was arrested Oct. 9 on a charge of disrupting public service after he allegedly refused to stop calling 911.
Kenneth W. Rinard, 29, of Orrville, was arrested Oct. 6 on charges of burglary and possession of a controlled substance. He is accused of breaking a bedroom window at a residence in the 600 block of Palmer Street. Police said Rinard was arrested at the scene trying to take prescription medications and two pairs of tennis shoes.
Burglary
A Nintendo game, 10 games and six controllers, worth a total of $780, were taken Oct. 8 from a home in the 500 block of North Grant Street.
Theft
A purse with items valued at $590 was taken Oct. 7 from an unlocked car in the 300 block of West Liberty Street.
Summit County
Akron Drugs
Four people were charged Oct. 4 with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia: Marva L. Davis, 38, of West State Street, Barberton; Kathy Hunt, 41, of Doyle Street; Ronald Keith, 40, of Hammel Street; and Bert A. Veal, 41, of Seward Avenue. Veal is accused of answering the door of a residence in the 500 block of Crosby Street with a crack pipe in his hand. Police said they saw several people hiding in a bedroom, where they found crack cocaine and four crack pipes.
Roberto A. Gonzalez, 40, and Francisco R. Reyes, 43, both of West South Street, were charged Sept. 30 with having open containers of beer, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said the two drove away from a known drug house on Bachtel Avenue. Officers reported finding open cans of beer, a rock of crack cocaine in a cigarette pack and a crack pipe in the car.
Anthony R. Pope, 23, of West Market Street, was charged Sept. 29 with trafficking in drugs, possession of drugs, possession of marijuana, carrying a concealed weapon, illegal possession of weapons and tampering with evidence. Police said Pope ran from them on Baughman Street but was apprehended after he fell. A .38-caliber handgun and a bag containing 2.7 grams of crack cocaine were found on him, officers said.
Domestic violence/assault
William A. Thompson, 37, of Chalker Street, was charged Oct. 5 with domestic violence. He is accused of punching a woman in the face and hitting her with a hammer.
A man reported Oct. 4 that he was stabbed outside Club 631 at 671 N. Howard St.
Antoinette L. Smith, 33, of Bachtel Avenue, was charged Oct. 4 with felonious assault and domestic violence. She is accused of stabbing a man in the back in a custody dispute.
Edward R. Nagy, 33, was charged Oct. 4 with domestic violence, accused of hitting, kicking and choking a man.
Letroy L. Graham, 24, of West York Street, was charged Oct. 4 with domestic violence, accused of hitting a woman several times in the face.
Patrick M. Palmer, 22, of Vaniman Street, was charged Oct. 4 with aggravated burglary, domestic violence and assault. He is accused of forcing his way into a residence and shoving and kicking a woman.
Kimberly A. Wheeler, 31, of Breiding Road, was charged Oct. 3 with domestic violence, accused of striking a man in the head with a pot.
Raymond C. Hill, 24, of Allyn Street, was charged Oct. 2 with domestic violence. He is accused of slapping a woman in the face several times.
Edward J. King Jr., 43, of Cliffside Drive, was charged Oct. 1 with domestic violence, accused of slapping a woman in the mouth.
Richard T. Gamble, 26, of Celtic Street, was charged Oct. 1 with domestic violence.
Milissa M. Morris, 33, of Yale Street, was charged Oct. 1 with assault, accused of kicking an officer three or four times. The officer was hit once in the chest and once in the groin, reports said.
A 27-year-old man arrived at Akron General Medical Center, 400 Wabash Ave., with a gunshot wound to his upper leg Sept. 29. He refused to provide information about the shooting.
Rapes
A woman told police Oct. 1 that she was raped by two males at a Talbot Avenue residence.
A rape was reported Sept. 28 as having occurred Sept. 15 on Spicer Street, police said.
Robberies
Kevin B. Fisher, 27, was charged Oct. 2 with aggravated robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, failing to comply and obstructing official business. Police said Fisher was waiting in a woman's vehicle when she left Giant Eagle, 484 Waterloo Road, and he took her car at knifepoint. Fisher led police on a short chase before getting into an accident at Bruner and Clark streets, officers said. Police said he ran and eventually hid under a car on Matthews Street, where he was apprehended.
Alvin L. Brown, 40, of Orrin Street, was charged Sept. 29 with aggravated robbery. Police said the robber demanded money from a clerk at Pizza Serena, 232 E. Cuyahoga Falls Ave. Police said he had his hand in a bag that was pointed at the clerk, indicating he had a weapon. He reached into an open register, took $270, thanked her and left, police said. Officers apprehended Brown a short time later with $265 in his pocket.
A man told police that two men hit him Sept. 28 and took his cell phone at South Main and East Mill streets.
Burglaries
James E. Edwards, 24, of Eastwood Avenue, was charged Oct. 3 with burglary. He is accused of prying open the door of a Boulevard Street residence, pouring bleach onto the carpet and taking keys and a cell phone.
A burglary was reported Sept. 29 in the 600 block of Roslyn Avenue. A resident told police that $20,000 in $100 bills was taken from a dresser.
A break-in was reported Sept. 29 at Fleet Maintenance Service, 1350 Kelly Ave. Someone broke a window to get in and took $600 from a cash box.
Thefts
Long's Auto Haus, 765 S. Arlington St., reported Oct. 3 that three catalytic converters had been cut off vehicles parked on the lot.
Frank A. Knupp, 27, of Massillon Road, was charged Oct. 1 with theft. He is accused of taking a bottle of whiskey from the Acme store at 2420 Wedgewood Drive.
Latonya C. McGhee, 20, of Wilmot Street, was charged Oct. 1 with theft. She is accused of concealing clothes under her shirt at Spencer Gifts, 2000 Brittain Road.
Brandy S. Brown, 27, of West Sunset View Drive, was charged with theft Sept. 28. She is accused of pushing a shopping cart containing unpaid merchandise worth $354 out of J.C. Penney, 2400 Romig Road.
Miscellaneous
Christine J. Foster, 27, of Litchfield Street, was charged Oct. 5 with soliciting. She is accused of offering to perform a sex act for an undercover officer at Buchtel and Middlebury avenues.
David A. Sines, 46, was charged Oct. 4 with disorderly conduct by intoxication after police said he was found passed on a sidewalk on East Market Street. He had urinated on himself and was unable to walk without help, police said. The day before, police said, he was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass after he was found passed out next to the CSX track.
Jeffery A. Gabet, 51, of Pitkin Avenue, was charged Oct. 3 with menacing, accused of threatening a neighbor.
Marvin G. Watson, 44, of Andrew Street, was charged Oct. 2 with carrying a concealed weapon after police reported seeing him drive the wrong way on Raymond Street. They said they found a .22-caliber handgun in the vehicle's center console.
A resident of the 1200 block of Tonawanda Avenue told police Oct. 2 that she discovered a bullet hole in her bedroom ceiling and a bullet on a table.
Someone shot eight bullets into a vehicle parked in the 900 block of Bloomfield Avenue on Oct 1.
Louis G. Bucey, 52, of Lloyd Street, was charged Oct. 1 with discharging a firearm and illegal possession of a weapon. Police responding to a domestic disturbance said Bucey was found sitting on a couch holding a shotgun. In a brief standoff, police said, Bucey was seen loading the shotgun. He then surrendered, reports said.
Hector M. Zepada, 43, of Johnston Street, was charged Sept. 30 with discharging a firearm, illegal possession of a weapon and failing to secure dangerous ordnance. Zepada is accused of firing a shot in the air to scare off children. The gun was found in a toy box in the home, police said.
Brett L. Schultz, 23, of Hillman Road, was charged Sept. 30 with using a weapon while intoxicated. Police reported Schultz brought a shotgun to the Last Quarter bar, 1895 Triplett Blvd., after a man threatened him. Schultz told police he realized he had made a mistake, and he took the gun home.
A school employee reported animal cruelty Sept. 29 at Seiberling Elementary School, 400 Brittain Road, after a class's pet hamster was found floating in a bucket of water.
George P. Garkovich, 24, of Beardsley Street, was charged Sept. 29 with illegal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance. Police said Garkovich had a sawed-off shotgun within arm's reach on a couch under a blanket.
Someone put sugar in the gas tank of a vehicle parked Sept. 27 on South Toby Terrace.
Barberton Arrests
Dale E. Connell Jr., 23, of Akron, was charged Oct. 9 with felony domestic violence.
Timmy Graham, 39, of Doylestown, was charged Oct. 7 with assault after he allegedly pushed a co-worker at Marco's Pizza, 139 Wooster Road N. Graham told police he thought his co-worker ''disrespected'' his wife.
Aggravated robbery
A man entered Big Lots, 161 Wooster Road N, on Oct. 2 and handed a clerk a note that read, ''This is a hostile situation.'' The clerk and a co-worker took the man to an office, where he demanded cash. He fled with $700.
Burglary
More than $300 and video games were among the items taken during a home burglary Oct. 7 in the 300 block of Third Street Northwest.
Suspicious person
A Herms Court woman told police Oct. 4 that a man picked up her 2-year-old son and sat him down next to him as they rode on a Metro bus. She said the man said her son was ''clean and beautiful.'' She told police she grabbed her son and took him to sit with her, while the man continued to ask her questions about the boy.
Bath Township Arrests
Three people were charged Oct. 1 with transient vending without a permit. Jason Iorio, 23, of Arizona; Joshua Gohr, 24, of Florida; and Richard Hixenbaum, 19, who gave no address, were selling magazines door to door. All were using different sales pitches touting fundraising for different organizations. The three were working for Integrity Promotions of Texas. Cuyahoga Falls Theft offenses
Thompson Electric reported a theft Oct. 2 at a job site in the 3700 block of State Road. Twenty pieces of PVC pipe, worth $1,729, were stolen.
A burglary was reported Oct. 1 in the 2200 block of Sutton Drive after someone entered a dog door and took a laptop, PlayStation 3 system and video game. The items were valued at $2,160.
Miscellaneous
William J. Boggs, 20, of Seventh Street Northwest, Barberton, was charged Sept. 29 with felonious assault after he and two juveniles allegedly attacked a 23-year-old man on Winter Parkway. The victim suffered a collapsed lung. The juveniles, both 17, are from Sterling and Smithville. Both were charged with felonious assault.
Lindsey E. Schmidt, 22, of Sixth Street, was charged Sept. 21 with public indecency. According to reports, Schmidt walked into her former place of employment, Sunoco, 2113 State Road, where she allegedly exposed her breasts and fondled them. Police said she was recorded on the store video and witnesses also observed the act.
Brian A. Donaldson, 22, of Notre Dame Avenue, was charged Sept. 30 with disorderly conduct by intoxication. Police said they found Donaldson lying unconscious on his porch.
Fairlawn Arrests
Danny Larry, 47, of Cleveland, was arrested Aug. 8 on traffic charges and misdemeanor warrants from Norwalk and a probation violation from Huron County. Officers stopped Larry on Interstate 77 for an equipment violation. A computer check revealed he had no driving privileges. He was cited with driving under suspension.
Sexual assault
A 26-year-old woman reported Oct. 7 that she was sexually assaulted the night before by a man who offered to give her and her girlfriend a ride home. She said the man drove them to his home on Grenfal Road. Her friend told police that while she was going to the restroom, the man pulled the victim into a bedroom and assaulted her.
Theft
A store clerk reportedly confessed to making fraudulent returns while working for Life Uniform in Summit Mall. She admitted taking $400 to $500 between July and October, police said.
Green Rape
Summit County sheriff's deputies were investigating the Sept. 29 report of a Uniontown woman who said that two men gave her 15-year-old daughter alcohol and raped her at a residence near the victim's home.
Theft
A Springfield Lake Boulevard resident told deputies Sept. 29 that a shed he used on Lindakay Drive was forced open and a pizza oven and assorted tools, worth a total of $10,350, were taken.
Aggravated menacing
A South Arlington Road man, 51, told deputies Sept. 29 that he was confronted at his home by two men armed with rifles and handguns. He escaped through the brush but suffered cuts and abrasions, which were treated by Green paramedics.
Forgery
A Mayfair Road woman reported Sept. 27 that a check was stolen from her and forged for $913.

Robert J. Clark, 44, of Atterbury Boulevard, was charged Oct. 3 with assault. He was accused of attacking his father-in-law.
Michael H. Riller, 28, of Hidden Lake Drive, Stow, was charged Oct. 3 with operating a vehicle under the influence after a crash at Brubaker's Pub, 5823 Darrow Road.
Lakemore Theft
The manager of a Canton Road residence discovered Oct. 1 that an overhead furnace was taken. Load-bearing beams and overhead garage doors were damaged. A floor drain was filled with cement. Loss was estimated at $7,500.
Burglary
A Mohican Boulevard resident said someone entered her home Sept. 26 through a bedroom window and took a debit card plus $1,500 from a lockbox.
Norton Theft
Victor Cart, 21, of Akron, and Kurt Deluca, 20, were charged Oct. 9 with breaking and entering and theft. Police said they found the two changing a flat tire behind Wind Beneath My Wings Church, 3081 Barber Road. Inside the car were items reportedly taken from a boat at Norman and Sons Body Shop, 3053 Barber Road, and from trucks at the church.
Identity theft
A Hillier Road woman reported Oct. 3 that someone used her information to secure a credit card. The card was used to charge about $50 in Washington.
Springfield Township Thefts
Two women and two girls were arrested Sept. 30 after a security worker reported seeing them take $643 in clothing from a South Arlington Road store. Sachet Carter, 18, of Nome Avenue, Akron, and Chevella Wilder, 22, of South Arlington Road, were charged with theft and summoned to Akron Municipal Court. A Safer Plaza girl, 16, and a Newton Street, Akron, girl, 14, were summoned to Summit County Juvenile Court and released to their mothers.
A Swartz Road resident said his utility trailer was taken from a neighbor's yard between Sept. 30 and Oct. 2. Total value was estimated at $1,000.
Burglary
Tools and other items, worth a total of $785, were reported stolen Sept. 30 by an Albrecht Avenue resident, who said someone entered his home through a rear window.

James R. Orlando, 29, of Lillian Road, was charged Sept. 30 with speeding and operating a vehicle under the influence.
Brandon W. Wright, 27, of West Main Street, Kent, was charged Sept. 30 with operating a vehicle under the influence.
Luis A. Holguin-Juarez, 20, of Uniontown, was charged Sept. 29 with operating a vehicle under the influence, underage drinking, driving left of center and failing to use a turn signal.
Ryan A. Perrotta, 25, of Wyndham Ridge Drive, was charged Sept. 28 with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in marijuana, drug possession, possession of prescription drugs and having tinted windows. A K-9 unit reacted to his car during a traffic stop and police reported finding 18 grams of cocaine, 24 grams of marijuana and $1,765.
Thefts
A break-in was reported Oct. 2 at Spectrum Surgical, 4575 Hudson Road. Police said someone pried open a garage door and took tools.
Robert E. Ezell, 35, of Ashtabula, was charged Oct. 1 with theft and fleeing and eluding. Police said Ezell stole a $900 TV from Radio Shack, 4288 Kent Road. Police also charged Ashley N. Hayes, 21, and Lawrence A. Molek, 40, both of Niles, with complicity to theft.
Kathleen E. Jameson, 40, of Roosevelt Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls, was charged Oct. 1 with theft. Jameson was accused of taking 15 $5 gift cards from Target, 4200 Kent Road, where she was employed.
Bilal S. Muhammad II, 23, of Bedford, was charged Sept. 27 with theft and falsification. Police said Muhammad reported that he was robbed at gunpoint at Aldi's, 3804 Fishcreek Road, but it was an attempt to conceal an $8,600 theft.

Two Stow women told police Sept. 29 that they were raped by a family member.

Sandra Forcier, 45, of Chippewa Road, was charged Oct. 3 with felony theft.
Marlon Johnson, 32, of Medina, was charged Oct. 4 with telephone harassment.
Sherisha Law, 24, of North Harmony Street, was charged Oct. 3 with two counts of obstructing justice.
Elijah K. Medley, 31, of Canal Fulton, and Aaron Medley, 22, of Copley, were arrested Oct. 4. Elijah Medley was charged with drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business. Aaron Medley was charged with two counts of driving under suspension and obstructing official business.
Medina sheriff Theft
A forklift valued at $65,000 was stolen from a construction site at Stony Hill Church, 276 Stony Hill Road, Granger Township, Oct. 7. The forklift was found in Hinckley two days later.
Wadsworth Arrests
Brett A. Harris, 35, of Third Street, was charged Oct. 2 with threatening domestic violence after he allegedly threatened to harm his girlfriend.
Burglary
Someone broke into a home in the 600 block of Sweetwater Drive on Oct. 7. Nothing appeared to be missing. The intruder left a vulgar note on a table.
Tools were taken Oct. 6 or 7 from a garage attached to a home in the 400 block of Tulip Trail.
Theft
Taylormade and Cobra golf clubs, worth a total of $2,600, were taken Oct. 6 or 7 from a truck in the driveway in the 300 block of Ivanhoe Avenue.

Brimfield Township Theft offenses
Jacqueline A. Pifer, 45, of North Adams Street, Akron, was charged Sept. 30 with the theft of a TV valued at $1,009 from Wal-Mart, 250 Tallmadge Road. Terrance L. Owens, 25, of South Van Buren Avenue, Barberton, and Christine M. Pagan, 26, of Selzer Street, Akron, were also charged with theft.
A burglary was reported Oct. 3 at an office at Relax Inn, 4423 State Route 43. Someone took $2,215.
OVI
Susan J. O'Brien, 45, of Alphada Avenue, Akron, was charged Oct. 1 with operating a vehicle under the influence, endangering children and having an open container. Police said they saw O'Brien vomiting out of her vehicle on the side of Tallmadge Road. A 3-year-old boy was in the back seat without a seat belt, reports said. Police said O'Brien told them she had urinated in her shorts because her grandson scared her. Police saw an open bottle of alcohol in the cup holder, reports said.
Kent Alcohol offenses
Amanda J. Pitman, 21, of Randolph Road, Mogadore, was charged Oct. 5 with operating a vehicle under the influence and having no taillights.
Rebecca L. Stuntz, 58, of Spaulding Drive, was charged Sept. 29 with operating a vehicle under the influence. Police said she drove left of center on Silver Meadows Boulevard, almost causing an accident with police.
Casey M. Beswick, 20, of Alpha Drive, was charged Sept. 29 with operating a vehicle under the influence.
Arson
Kevin M. Cushin, 20, of South Willow Street, was charged Sept. 30 with arson after he allegedly threw an aerosol can into a couch fire. He wanted to see it explode, reports said.
Ravenna Alcohol/drug offenses
Jason C. Ellis, 36, of Elm Street, was charged Oct. 4 with operating a vehicle under the influence, and refusing to take a breath test.
Theresa F. Karasek, 43, of South Walnut Street, was charged Oct. 2 with disorderly conduct by intoxication and resisting arrest. Police said Karasek was abusive during booking, spit on an officer and grabbed an officer in the groin during a struggle.
Hobart B. Ayers, 54, of Blitz Road, Kent, was charged Oct. 3 with operating a vehicle under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and not using turn signals.
Kim W. Hysell, 50, of King Street, was charged Sept. 29 with operating a vehicle under the influence, refusing a breath test and not having taillights.
Jonathon D. Svarney, 25, of Girard, was charged Sept. 29 with operating a vehicle under the influence and failing to obey traffic control devices. Svarney allegedly drove through two red lights on Main Street and refused a breath test.

Joseph H. Copley, 52, of South Walnut Street, was charged Oct. 2 with assault. He is accused of hitting a juvenile in the face in front of the courthouse. He was intoxicated, police said.
William J. Grotemeyer Jr., 42, of Elm Street, was charged Sept. 28 with domestic violence. He is accused of hitting a child in the head, causing a cut.

Joshua L. Davis, 25, of West Highland Avenue, Ravenna, was charged Oct. 4 with aggravated possession of drugs and receiving stolen property. Davis was arrested Sept. 4 in Alabama and was extradited to Portage County.

Canal Fulton Arrest
Donald Solaro, 32, of Sixth Street, Akron, was transported from the Summit County Jail to Canal Fulton Oct. 3 on warrants charging two counts each of forgery and fraud. He was booked at the Stark County Jail.
Theft
Four kayaks, worth a total of $1,155, were reported stolen Sept. 30 from the Canal Fulton Livery, 219 W. Cherry St.
Jackson Township Arrests
Malachi Rushin, 23, of Foxhaven Avenue Northwest, was booked at the Stark County Jail on Oct. 2 on a domestic violence charge. Police said he hit a woman in the eye at his home.
On Oct. 2, Canton police arrested John Michalek, 43, of McKinley Avenue, Canton, and turned him over to Jackson Township police on a warrant charging forgery. He was booked at the Stark County Jail.
Theft
A resident of Henry's Mill Circle, Canton, told Jackson police a briefcase, stun gun, pen and a leather portfolio, worth a total of $1,000, were stolen from his car at a Dressler Road Northwest business Sept. 30. A few hours later, all but the stun gun was recovered by police behind a Whipple Avenue Northwest business.
North Canton Arrests
Three juveniles, two age 17 and one 16, were booked Sept. 29 at the Stark County Juvenile Attention Center after North Canton police arrested them following a break-in at a Valley Drive garage. A neighbor saw four youths enter the garage, and several items were left outside. Police watched for their return to pick up the items, but instead apprehended three about an hour later in a car containing other stolen items. A fourth suspect is still being sought.
Thefts
An Ellesmere Avenue Northwest woman reported a laptop computer stolen from her home Oct. 5. No value was listed for the computer.
A Canton man, 28, said someone took his cell phone, stereo and other items, worth a total of $850, from a car parked Sept. 29 on Terrace Road Northwest.

Uniontown police ordered a Cincinnati woman, 35, to leave the Hartville Flea Market on Sept. 29, accusing her of selling knockoff purses with the names of Gucci, Coach, Louis Vuitton and Prada. No charges were filed, but more than 11,000 purses and wallets were seized for evidence. The vendor said the purses had been purchased in New York.
Burglary
Several rings and other jewelry, worth a total of $3,300, were reported stolen Sept. 29 by a Dogwood Street woman, who said someone entered her home through an open garage door.

Wayne sheriff Arrests
Darrin J. Keeling, 38, of Chippewa Township, was arrested Oct. 7 on a felony charge of domestic violence. He is accused of striking his 34-year-old wife at their home on Portage Road.
Gregory R. Price, 39, of Sterling, was arrested Oct. 8 on a charge of felonious assault. He is accused of driving his father's 1996 Toyota into a 20-year-old man in the 13800 block of Kauffman Avenue, Milton Township. The victim suffered severe injuries to his chest and face, police said.
Domestic violence
A 29-year-old woman reported Oct. 7 that she jumped from a car that her husband was driving at Doylestown and Shorle roads, Chippewa Township. The woman told a deputy that she feared for her life after her husband grabbed and pushed her against a car window.
Theft
A four-wheeler and two crossbows, worth a total of $3,450, were reported stolen Oct. 9 from a garage in the 3100 block of Welty Road, East Union Township.
A four-wheeler valued at $3,125 was taken Oct. 9 from a garage in the 2300 block of Eby Road, Baughman Township.
A saw, air compressor and other tools, worth a total of $2,610, were reported stolen Oct. 6 from a home in the 12200 block of North Elyria Road, Congress Township.
The sheriff's office was told Oct. 4 that tenants at a home in the 5700 block of Camp Road, Chester Township, took two microwaves, a sweeper and a coffee table when they moved.
Two radios, a television and clothing were reported stolen Oct. 5 from a truck in the 1300 block of Blachleyville Road, Wooster Township.
A circular saw, five gallons of gasoline and $1,100 were reported stolen Oct. 5 from a home in the 13000 block of Mark Path, Chippewa Township.
Wooster Arrests
Charles D. Crosby, 49, of Wooster, was arrested Oct. 9 on a charge of disrupting public service after he allegedly refused to stop calling 911.
Kenneth W. Rinard, 29, of Orrville, was arrested Oct. 6 on charges of burglary and possession of a controlled substance. He is accused of breaking a bedroom window at a residence in the 600 block of Palmer Street. Police said Rinard was arrested at the scene trying to take prescription medications and two pairs of tennis shoes.
Burglary
A Nintendo game, 10 games and six controllers, worth a total of $780, were taken Oct. 8 from a home in the 500 block of North Grant Street.
Theft
A purse with items valued at $590 was taken Oct. 7 from an unlocked car in the 300 block of West Liberty Street.
