Assault
Jeremiah J. Dewitt, 27, of Michigan, was charged Feb. 2 with two counts of disorderly conduct and assault on a peace officer. Police said they saw Dewitt hiding in the Polsky parking deck on South High Street. When they approached him, he allegedly punched an officer in the face. Police said they used a Taser on Dewitt three times before he complied.
Shanna T. Lee, 22, of Winton Avenue, was charged Feb. 6 with assault after she allegedly struck a woman repeatedly with a high-heel shoe. The two are dancers at Gatsby's, 2500 Romig Road, police said.
Domestic violence
Shirla L. Brantley, 41, of Avon Street, was charged Feb. 6 with domestic violence and threat of force after she allegedly hit her daughter with a radio, pulled her hair out and threatened to beat and kill her.
Thomas L. VanMeter, 35, of Talbot Avenue, was charged with domestic violence Feb. 6 after he allegedly hit a woman in the head multiple times.
Herman Matthews Jr., 40, of Kenmore Boulevard, was charged with domestic violence Feb. 5 after he allegedly hit his live-in partner several times in the face. He is on probation for domestic violence, police said.
Sonsire Y. Burris, 19, of Callis Drive, was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence Feb. 4 after she allegedly hit her boyfriend several times with unknown objects before stabbing him. Police said the man was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence because he originally pushed her into a counter, causing her to cut her chin.
Gary G. Hite Jr., 38, of Turner Street, was charged Feb. 2 with domestic violence, aggravated menacing, using weapons while intoxicated and having weapons illegally. Police said Hite brandished a loaded handgun during a quarrel.
Drug offenses
Marlin Bowick, 41, of Whitney Avenue, was charged Feb. 8 with drug abuse of cocaine, possession of criminal tools and packaging for sale. Police executing a search warrant reported finding a bag of crack cocaine, a bag of marijuana, empty bags and two digital scales.
Adolph H. Owens, 20, of Mallison Avenue, was charged Feb. 5 with trafficking in drugs. A South Rhodes Avenue boy, 17, was charged with trafficking and obstructing official business. An officer reportedly saw a drug transaction on the street. Police reported finding a bag containing 13 grams of marijuana.
Carl A. Campitelli, 39, of Melbourne Street, was charged Feb. 4 with illegal manufacture of methamphetamine, illegal assembly of chemicals, and possession of criminal tools. Police were at Campitelli's residence regarding a possible meth lab and were invited inside by Campitelli, who volunteered to show them that no lab existed. Police said they observed tubing, paint thinner and glassware and smelled a strong chemical odor in the basement.
Aaron T. Williamson, 22, of Mercer Avenue, was charged Feb. 3 with participating in a criminal gang, receiving stolen property and drug abuse of crack cocaine. Williamson allegedly had a stolen automobile and crack cocaine. Police said he is a member of the Hilltop 7714 Crips.
Abduction
Alton E. Cody, 75, of Mogadore Road, was charged Feb. 7 with abduction, aggravated menacing and obstructing. Police said Cody pointed a shotgun at a man's chest and backed him out of a residence into a backyard. He then threatened to kill him regarding thefts from a junk yard, police said.
Weapons charges
Robert D. Mitchell, 22, of Bisson Avenue, was charged Dec. 6 with carrying a concealed weapon. Police said they stopped Mitchell's car as he drove the wrong way on a one-way street. Officers reported finding a .380 caliber handgun under his seat.
Burglary
Dale A. Terrell, 33, no known address, was charged Feb. 1 with aggravated burglary after he allegedly entered a Shelby Avenue home through a window. Residents yelled when they heard an intruder, causing him to run downstairs and push his way out the front door. Officers said Terrell dropped items as he ran. He had just been released from prison Jan. 9 on a burglary conviction, police said.
Theft charges
Gretchen E. Clark, 38, of West Dartmore Street, and Delta M. Miles, 35, of Tarbell Street, were charged with felony theft Feb. 5. They are accused of taking merchandise from Family Dollar, 1750 S. Main St., over six weeks.
Thefts
A woman stole a human hair wig Feb. 2 from Broadway Beauty, 1591 S. Hawkins Ave. She put the $199 wig on her head and ran out of the store.
Miscellaneous
Endalkachew K. Weldegebrael, 29, of Sherman Street, was charged Feb. 6 with disorderly conduct. When bouncers escorted him out of a bar, he allegedly called 911 to state that he didn't understand why he was kicked out.
Tracy Bradley, 44, of East Crosier Street, was charged Feb. 5 with having an open container, public indecency and criminal trespass. Police said Bradley was passed out with his genitals exposed at Hennessy Funeral Home, 552 N. Main St.

Arrests
Marcus M. White, 19, of 10th Street Northwest, was charged Feb. 11 with assault and menacing. Officers were called to a Third Street apartment when two children ran to a neighbor's apartment, screaming that their mother was being beaten. Police said they found White on the stairs of the apartment, shoving the children's mother into a wall. While being escorted to a cruiser, White reportedly said he was going to ''blow the place up.''
Burglary
Jewelry and a PlayStation were taken Feb. 5 from a home in the 500 block of Wilson Avenue.
Coventry Twp.
Arrests
Toshia O'Neal, 33, and Jacinta Pruitt, 40, both of Cleveland, were booked Jan. 31 at the Summit County Jail after O'Neal allegedly tried to obtain a driver's license in Pruitt's name so she could take a GED test for Pruitt. O'Neal signed the license using Pruitt's name, but the permit was denied, deputies said.
Burglary
Someone forced open a door Feb. 5 and took a $1,400 laptop computer from a Waterside Drive residence.
Theft
A Canton woman said she learned Feb. 2 from a Manchester Road bank branch that someone had acquired her personal information and removed $597 from the account.

Domestic violence/assault
James A. Craig, 18, of Villa Avenue, Akron, was charged Feb. 10 with felonious assault on a law enforcement officer, vandalism, resisting arrest and felony fleeing. Craig allegedly tried to drive away from police and later kicked one officer and elbowed another. While in the police cruiser, he reportedly kicked out a rear window.
Richard A. Broadwater, 53, of Kelsey Drive, was charged Feb. 7 with domestic violence after he allegedly punched his son in the face and head.
Janel D. Taylor, 24, of South Hidden Valley Road, was charged Feb. 4 with domestic violence after she allegedly grabbed her children's grandmother by the arms and twisted them.
Weapons charge
Robert Keck, 24, of Sobul Street, Akron, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon Feb. 10 after he allegedly brought a loaded 9mm handgun to work at Red Lobster, 1090 Graham Road.
Robbery
An aggravated robbery was reported Feb. 5 at KFC, 2050 State Road. Two males entered the store, showed a handgun and demanded money. The robbers left with nothing.
Fairlawn
Theft
A Uniontown woman, 46, reported Feb. 8 that someone stole her debit card and made unauthorized transactions. She said the same thing happened to a co-worker at a local dry-cleaning company.

Arrests
Ryan Sullivan, 19, of East Hopocan Avenue, Barberton, and a Woodcrest Avenue youth, 16, were charged with attempted burglary and criminal damaging after a witness reported seeing them break a window at a Hightower Drive house Feb. 6.

A Madora Avenue woman said someone entered her home Feb. 4 and stole a $900 laptop computer.

James Neely, 23, of Belle, W.Va., was charged with assault and criminal trespass Feb. 2 following an altercation with a woman after visiting his infant daughter.
Norton
Menacing
A Hawaii Avenue resident reported Feb. 9 he received a phone call from a man who told him he owes $1,300 for a pound of marijuana he purchased. The resident denied buying marijuana and told the man he had the wrong number. The caller threatened to ''shoot up'' the man's residence.
Theft of drugs
A Barberton man, 29, reported Feb. 1 his girlfriend took a prescription written to him, had it filled at CVS Pharmacy, 4195 Cleveland-Massillon Road, then used all of the pills.
Vandalism
Twelve windows were broken Feb. 11 at Norton High School.

Arrests
Eliah Cooper, 25, of Coach Lane, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly grabbed a woman by her coat and pushed her next to a truck outside a Canton Road doughnut shop Feb. 4.
Shonteir Johnson, 21, of Marcy Street, Akron, was charged with robbery after he allegedly took $43 worth of clothing and jewelry from a South Arlington Road discount store and tried to strike a security associate Feb. 2.
Thefts
Someone took a 6- by 12-foot trailer valued at $2,000 from the back lot of a South Arlington Road business Feb. 6.
A Wadsworth woman said she left her car Feb. 4 at an East Waterloo Road business. It was gone the next day, along with 50 compact discs and a car seat, total value $13,100.
A Wilpark Drive resident said a set of diamond earrings and a diamond necklace, total value $800, were taken from a jewelry box in her home during the last several months.
An Akron man said someone entered his pickup truck Jan. 29 and took $550 while it was parked at a South Arlington Road restaurant.
Forgery
A South Arlington Road discount store representative said three men entered the store Jan. 31 and cashed three checks, total value $2,247, without identification being obtained. The fraudulent checks were drawn on a Norton corporation.

Jerry A. Kracker, 50, of Kent Road, was charged Feb. 10 with operating a vehicle under the influence and physical control.
Nicole M. Johnson, 33, of Echo Valley Drive, was charged Feb. 9 with operating a vehicle under the influence and crossing marked lanes.
Timothy Cope, 31, of West Main Street, Kent, was charged Feb. 9 with operating a vehicle under the influence, open container, marked lanes, weaving and refusing a breath test.
Miscellaneous
A Country Club Lane girl, 14, was charged Feb. 8 with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. While in science class, the student reportedly set another girl's strand of hair on fire. Several more strands started burning before she extinguished it, reports said.
Paul J. Eberling, 19, of Herrick Park Drive, Hudson, was charged Feb. 5 with disorderly conduct. According to reports, Eberling simulated a sex act on numerous occasions at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.

A 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix was stolen Feb. 11 from Serpentini Chevrolet, 140 West Ave. A woman called the dealership from Goodyear Heights to inform the business that she saw a male driver stop the vehicle, tear off the Serpentini tag and drive off.
Josef Kostelenski, 58, of Sunset View, was charged Feb. 8 with domestic violence and child endangering after he allegedly struck his granddaughter.

Arrests
Several juvenile teens were charged with delinquency by reason of underage consumption of alcohol and trespassing when police broke up a loud party Feb. 10 in the 200 block of Abbeyville Road.
Burglary
Someone entered a home in the 200 block of Abbeyville Road through an unlocked front door and left through a back sliding glass door. A lighted candle was found and lights were turned off in the home. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Wadsworth

Phillip Lycans, 45, of Wooster, was charged Feb. 12 with assault. He is accused of grabbing a boy, 15, around the neck and throwing him to the ground at an East Walnut Street home.

Drunken driving
Michael L. Mize, 23, of Deerfield, was charged Feb. 6 with operating a vehicle under the influence. Mize allegedly stopped on Tallmadge Road next to a crash scene. An officer asked him if he was observing the accident or having vehicle problems. Mize reportedly said the vehicle had stalled and he could not get it into gear.
Animal cruelty
Diane Silbaugh, 55, of Old Forge Road, was charged Feb. 11 with cruelty to animals. Brimfield police and Portage Animal Protective League conducted an unannounced inspection of Never Rest Ranch and found a deceased horse, reports said. A judge subsequently granted an order to remove all the horses from the ranch.

Drunken driving
Trent A. McNutt, 30, of Toledo, was charged Feb. 6 with operating a vehicle under the influence and speeding. He refused a breath test, reports said.
Gayle S. Whittier, 51, of West Main Street, was charged Feb. 6 with operating a vehicle under the influence, failure to yield and refusing a breath test. Police said Whittier pulled out of a driveway and almost struck a police cruiser.

Brian A. Shilling, 22, of Morris Road, was charged Feb. 4 with domestic violence after he allegedly choked and pushed his girlfriend.
Michael J. Dmytryk, 22, and Christopher J. Kikel, 20, both of University Avenue, were charged Feb. 4 with discharging a firearm and unlawful noise after allegedly firing a potato gun. Jonathan M. Buchert, 20, of the same address, was charged with complicity and unlawful noise.

A Garrettsville man told police Feb. 9 that he saw a UFO at Newell Ledge and Pierce roads. He said he saw a large object with lights all the way around its wings in the sky. It was moving slowly and made no noise, reports said. It traveled south toward the Ravenna Arsenal, the man said.

Robert S. Profancik, 37, of Westlake, was charged Feb. 9 with operating a vehicle under the influence, refusing a breath test, operating without reasonable control and crossing lanes of travel. Police said Profancik forced four cars off the road.
Streetsboro
Jeremiah Lawrence, 31, of Mantua, was charged Jan. 29 with disorderly conduct and public indecency. Police were called to the 1600 block of state Route 303 regarding a man trying to enter a residence. Police reported seeing an intoxicated Lawrence defecating in the yard.

Daniel Blackburn, 31, of Gayle Place Southwest, Canton, was charged with two counts of felony theft after he allegedly took $1,663 worth of watches, clothing and jewelry from a Westfield Belden Village store Feb. 4 and 5.
