Theft offenses
A burglary was reported March 28 in the 1100 block of Ericsson Avenue. A TV and video games were taken.
Wendell Norris Jr., 35, of the 200 block of Wildwood Avenue, was charged March 28 with grand theft auto and receiving stolen property. When stopped at Mallison Avenue and Vernon Odom Boulevard, police said they discovered Norris was driving a 1998 Honda Accord that had been stolen the day before from a parking lot.
A man entered Fat Billy's, 635 Grant St., displayed a weapon and demanded money, but fled empty-handed.
A man was robbed March 27 while walking on West Market Street. Police reports said a male assailant struck him and demanded his money. The victim suffered a wound on his hip from an unknown object, reports said.
Andrew M. Dawson, 21, of the 500 block of East State Street, Barberton, was charged March 27 with receiving stolen property/auto and possession of criminal tools. Police said he was in possession of a stolen 1996 Chrysler Concorde and a screwdriver used to operate the car. Glen L. Yerkey, 20, of the 1700 block of Highview Avenue, was also charged with receiving stolen property/auto. Yerkey knowingly drove and had the car in his possession, reports said.
Three males approached two men March 27 while walking on Barbara Avenue and displayed handguns. A police report said the gunmen said, ''You know what time it is,'' and told the victims to empty their pockets. When one of the victims said they would have to shoot him, he was struck in the face with a gun. The robbers got away with cell phones and money.
Someone broke into a Collier Road residence March 27 and stole a plasma TV and a satellite receiver.
Danielle B. Newell, 19, and Donald A. Rice, 46, of the 1300 block of Niagara Avenue, were charged March 26 with felony theft. The two were accused of concealing $641.67 of merchandise in an empty baby stroller at Sears, 2400 Romig Road.
A burglary was reported March 26 in the 100 block of Locust Street. Two video game systems, a cell phone and a hard drive were reported stolen. The burglar gained entrance by pushing an air conditioner through the window.
A robbery was reported March 26 on West South Street. Three males approached a man who was walking to the store. One hit the victim multiple times in the head with a pipe wrench and took his wallet.
Two pump jacks valued at $3,000 and various construction equipment valued at more than $2,000 was reported stolen March 26 from a work site on 11th Street Southwest.
A robbery was reported March 26 on 13th Street Southwest. Three males approached a man from behind, and asked to use his cell phone. The report said the man handed the phone to one of the robbers who acted as if he made a call then handed the phone back to the victim. One of the other robbers then displayed a gun and told the man to ''give it up.'' The report said the victim was told to lie on the ground and hand over his phone, then the robbers ran away.
According to a police report, a male followed a man into his Mallison Avenue residence March 26, went upstairs, put a gun to the man's head and demanded money but the victim said he didn't have any. The robber checked the man and then fled empty-handed.
A robbery was reported March 25 on Koerber Avenue. Police said three armed males wearing masks kicked in the door and looked around the apartment. According to the report, $388 was taken from a resident's purse and as the robbers were leaving another resident arrived home and was robbed of $30 at gunpoint. Police said the robbers rifled through the victim's car and then fled in a blue vehicle.
A burglary was reported March 25 on West York Street. Someone entered through an unlocked door and stole a 9mm handgun.
Daniel C. Ott, 70, of the 3200 block of Shade Road, was charged March 25 with breaking and entering and felony theft. Ott was accused of entered a Romayne Drive residence that was for sale on Feb. 3 and taking a refrigerator and dishwasher. According to the report, he was confronted by an off-duty officer but was able to flee. The officer, however, obtained his license plate number.
A break-in was reported March 24 in the 1100 block of Bellows Street. Copper pipe was taken from the basement of a vacant house.
A break-in was reported March 24 at Yard Sale, 922 Kenmore Blvd. A laptop and digital camera were reported stolen.
Carlos D. Scurry, 32, of Cleveland, was charged March 24 with receiving stolen property. Police stopped Scurry at Victory and South streets and reportedly discovered he was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier that had been stolen in a Cleveland robbery.
Ashley S. Brantley, 20, was charged March 22 with theft. While employed at First Merit on North Main Street in July 2005, Brantley left for lunch and never returned, reports said. Her drawer was reportedly $3,100 short.
Domestic violence/assault
A Peckham Street boy, 16, was charged March 27 with domestic violence and domestic violence/threat or force. The boy allegedly threatened to burn down the house and tore phones out of walls. When his mother fled the house, he reportedly chased her into a neighbor's yard, grabbed her by her shoulders and tried to drag her back into the house.
Felicia Powe, 22, of April Court, was charged March 27 with felonious assault. Powe is accused of stabbing a woman in the chest and shoulder area.
Timothy J. Seeman, 23, of the 800 block of Stanwood Avenue, was charged March 27 with domestic violence. Police said Seeman choked his wife, who had a scratch and redness on her neck.
An Oxford Avenue girl, 15, was charged March 27 with domestic violence after she punched her mother in the jaw, police said.
Lavaile D. Thomas, 20, of the 300 block of Noble Avenue, was charged March 26 with domestic violence. Police said Thomas choked and punched his girlfriend multiple times. The woman had a bite mark on her face and red marks below each eye, reports said.
Princeston A. Jones, 21, of the 800 block of East Wilbeth Road, was charged March 25 with domestic violence. He choked and punched a woman in the face, reports said.
Larry W. Byrd, 50, of the 700 block of Allyn Street, was charged March 24 with domestic violence. Byrd is accused of biting a woman on the arm and pulling out her hair.
Galen L. Thompson, 32, of the 800 block of Johnston Street, was charged March 22 with domestic violence. Thompson is accused of punching a woman numerous times, choking and slapping her on Jan. 12. The woman had visible injuries on her face and neck, reports said.

Donte L. Mason, 18, of the 100 block of Grand Avenue, was charged March 27 with aggravated menacing. Mason is accused of threatening to rape a Kenmore High School student.
Therman K. Thomas, 36, of the 1000 block of Belden Avenue, was charged March 26 with carrying a concealed weapon and having a weapon illegally. Police stopped his vehicle near Kenmore Boulevard and Eighth Street and found a loaded .380 handgun, reports said.
Tana C. Moorer, 25, of the 900 block of Fried Street, was charged March 24 with carrying a concealed weapon/knife and drug abuse/crack. According to a report, police stopped Moorer's vehicle, found she was driving under suspension and discovered a knife with trace amounts of crack cocaine in her purse.
Richard A. Grass, 34, of the 600 block of Johnston Court, was charged March 24 with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police found methamphetamine, pipes, a straw and multiple bags and bindles with trace amounts of methamphetamine, reports said.
Matthew J. Pal, 32, of the 900 block of Morningview Avenue, was charged March 22 with carrying a concealed weapon, improperly handling a firearm and handling a weapon while intoxicated. Police found a loaded pistol in Pal's rear pocket during a traffic stop, reports said.

Benjamin Stupar, 20, of Shoreline Drive was booked at the Summit County Jail on an assault charge and a 17-year-old youth was booked at the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center following a fight with two others at Portage Lakes Drive Plaza on March 20.

Theft offenses
Police were told two males stole two laptops valued at $1,869.92 on March 29 from Circuit City, 1120 Main St.
Renay M. Webb, 21, of the 800 block of Cliffside Drive, Akron, was charged March 29 with theft and possession of drug abuse instruments. Police said she stole $139.90 worth of party supplies from Party City, 278 Howe Ave., and had a hypodermic syringe in her bag.
Police were told two males forced their way into a residence March 28 on Ninth Street, punched a man in the face, head and ribs, demanded money and fled with $40.
A break-in was reported March 28 at Little League North, 4001 Wyoga Lake Road where police were told 10 sets of catcher's gear, 50-60 bats, 10 helmets and a batting net valued at $2,503 were taken.

Tommy Gibbs, 28, of Honeymoon Drive was charged with domestic violence on March 27. Police said he was booked at the Summit jail after a woman said that during a fight at the home he hit her with a crib, threw a glass of water on her and threw her out of the house.
Coni Somosko, 41, of East Comet Road was jailed in Summit for domestic violence March 24 after a man said she struck him in the neck and face at the residence.
Burglary
A Pinewood Way man said someone broke a window at his home and stole several pieces of jewelry valued at $2,300.
Breaking and entering
A Samoa Drive man reported March 25 that four tires, total value $505, were taken from a padlocked storage shed on East Turkeyfoot Lake Road.
Thefts
Summit sheriff's deputies are investigating the theft of $38,800 in cash over the last three months from a Massillon Road check cashing business. A female employee from Canton was accused of the theft and fired, according to a report.
A $1,200 TV was reported stolen March 26 from a Mayfair Road resident's vehicle.

Gregory J. Chambers, 40, of the 10300 block of Wellman Road, was charged March 29 with domestic violence. He was accused of threatening a woman.
Michael S. Valore, 24, of the 10000 block of Delores Drive, Streetsboro, was charged March 25 with two counts of domestic violence and child endangering.

Timothy J. Considine, 59, of the 700 block of Morgan Avenue, Akron, was charged March 31 with operating a vehicle under the influence, and failure to control.

Teresa Copen of Church Street was booked at the Summit jail March 26 for assault and criminal damaging after she allegedly pinned a Springfield Township police officer's leg between the door and door jamb as he questioned her about damage to a split rail fence.

A 13-year-old Akron boy from Thornton Street was arrested at a South Arlington Street discount store March 21 after store personnel accused him of stealing video games and DVSs, valued at $527

A Killian Road man told police March 24 that his bank account number was used by someone to make purchases totaling $558.

An Albrecht Avenue woman reported her car stolen March 26 before she also discovered that two rings, total value $5,500, were missing from the home.

Justin A. Brown, 19, of the 1300 block of Herberich Drive, Akron, was charged March 26 with operating a vehicle under the influence, having expired registration and an obstructed view.
Mark A. Clemens, 30, of Chagrin Falls, was charged March 25 with operating a vehicle under the influence and speeding.
Gerald M. Hickman, 43, of the 600 block of Taylor Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls, was charged March 23 with operating a vehicle under the influence, two counts of driving under suspension and carrying a concealed weapon.
Tabitha M. Doppelhauer, 23, of the 4400 block of Kent Road, was charged March 23 with operating a vehicle under the influence and crossing marked lanes.

Dennis Kearns, 21, of the 2000 block of Lavada Drive, Akron, was charged March 29 with aggravated assault, aggravated menacing and aggravated criminal trespass. Kearns allegedly choked and punched his girlfriend.
A catalytic converter was reported stolen March 25 from a delivery van at Susan's Coffee, 580 Kennedy Road.

Drug offenses
Blake Keller, 18, and Shaun Xenias, 18, of Kent, were charged March 25 with trafficking in drugs. Anthony Embacher, 18, of Kent, was charged with complicity to trafficking. Christopher Fogel, 18, of Stow, was charged with possession of marijuana. Police said they received a confidential tip about possible drug activity at a fast food restaurant on state Route 43, in the vicinity of a school.

William C. Kinsey, 29, of the 2600 block of Elmwood Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls, was charged March 29 with operating a vehicle under the influence and refusing a breath test.
Shannon D. Hudson, 19, of Cleveland, was charged March 27 with operating a vehicle under the influence and driving left of center.
Domestic violence
Patrick O. Adair, 21, of Chagrin Falls, was charged March 30 with domestic violence. Adair struck the mother of his child in the face with his knee, reports said.
Jane F. Onyao, 32, of the 800 block of Lawrence Court, was charged March 29 with domestic violence.
Jennifer L. Krakora, 24, of the 200 block of South Prospect Street, was charged March 30 with domestic violence.

Alison Rippey, 29, of the 100 block of North Sycamore Street, was charged March 30 with domestic violence. She slapped and spit on someone, reports said.
Ilya Shpilman, 22, of the 100 block of North Walnut Street, was charged March 29 with domestic violence. Shpilman choked his girlfriend and pushed her into a wall, reports said.
Ryan S. Daily, 29, of the 4400 block of Lovers Lane, was charged March 29 with domestic violence. Daily punched his girlfriend in the eye, reports said.
Danielle M. Calabrese, 23, of Macedonia, was charged March 29 with domestic violence. Calabrese is accused of hitting her boyfriend in the mouth and kicking him in the groin.

Donald L. Simons, 44, of the 3400 block of Concord Road, was charged March 31 with operating a vehicle under the influence, refusing a breath test, not using a turn signal, not wearing a seat belt, driving under suspension and having an open container.
Kody M. Osco, 30, homeless, was charged March 27 with three counts of theft, receiving stolen property and resisting arrest. Police said Osco broke into several vehicles and took items. He then led police on a short foot pursuit, reports said.

Timothy R. Jenkins, 46, of Warren, was charged March 28 with robbery and felonious assault.
Astarte Avilla, 31, of California, was charged March 28 with two counts of complicity to robbery.

Police were investigating a March 23 report by an 18-year-old resident that she had been sexually assaulted at a South High Street location.

A Streby Street resident said a dirt bike and seat cover, total value $950, were stolen from his home March 26.

Arrests
Camille Brown, 37, of Akron was booked at the Stark County Jail on a Jackson felony theft warrant March 22 after she was stopped by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and turned over to Jackson Police.
Dottie Young, 50, of Mount Pleasant Road Northwest was stopped by personnel outside a Westfield Shoppingtown Mall store on March 21 and accused of concealing unpaid items in her purse. According to a report, when stopped, she pulled a knife and cut her left arm. She was treated at an area hospital and then booked at the Stark jail on charges of theft and carrying a concealed weapon.
Safecracking
Someone threw a brick through the window of a Whipple Avenue Northwest restaurant sometime between March 22 and 24 and forced open a safe from which an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.
Passing bad checks
A spokesperson for a Mega Street Northwest discount store reported March 25 that a man tried to cash a $997 stolen check, but employees had been alerted and when the cashier tried to stall him the man became nervous and fled without the check.
Thefts
On March 24, police began investigating the theft of 15 sets of wiring taken from trucks of a Whipple Avenue Northwest vending company. The wiring, total value $825, operated refrigeration units on the vehicles.
Two women were being sought for stealing 16 pairs of sweatpants, total valued at $1,020, from a Westfield Shoppingtown Mall women's store. A report indicated the sweatpants were there when the two women were in the store earlier, but they were missing later after the two had been in the store a second time and bought nothing either time.
A Jackson resident said someone removed the catalytic converter, valued at $1,773, from his pickup truck while parked on Shakertown Drive Northwest on March 22.
A South Boulevard Northwest man told police March 22 his vehicle's catalytic converter, valued at $800, was stolen while the station wagon was parked outside his residence.
A catalytic converter, valued at $750, was stolen off an SUV parked at a Hills and Dales Road Northwest residence on March 21.
A Canton woman told police on March 21 that money, her purse and other items, total loss $680, were stolen from her vehicle while parked at a Hills and Dales Northwest residence facility.
A Canton man said someone took his $600 pair of sunglasses from his vehicle while he was at a Whipple Avenue Northwest nightclub March 20.

A Wickham Drive Northwest woman told deputies March 24 that someone took $889.75 out of her bank account without her permission.

Korey McCreery, 28, of West Maple Street was jailed on a domestic violence charge after a relative said he was injured when wrestled to the ground by McCreery at a Rose Lane Southwest residence.
Theft
A Holl Road Northeast resident told police March 24 that she dropped an envelope containing $600 cash through a door slot of an apartment complex office, but the manager contends the envelope wasn't there when he checked.

A Canton woman said her car was parked at a Whipple Avenue Northwest location March 26 when a window was smashed in her vehicle and electronic equipment, total value $2,660, was taken.
Stereo TV equipment, total value $1,100, was reported stolen March 23 from a Homedale Avenue Northwest home.
A Canton woman told deputies March 19 that $782 was stolen from her while she was at a Convenience Circle Northwest motel.
A Glenhill Avenue Northeast man reported March 18 that a catalytic converter, total value $500, was stolen off his vehicle at a Harrisburg Road Northeast used car lot.

A 17-year-old boy, of Woodland Street Southwest, Hartville, was booked at the Stark County Juvenile Attention Center on March 21. He is charged with carrying concealed weapons for having two knives in his possession when stopped by police at King Church Avenue after he threatened to injure his brother's co-worker after the brother was injured in a work-related accident.
