Akron
Domestic violence/assault

Michael J. Struharik, 50, of East Ralston Avenue, was charged May 15 with domestic violence. Police said Struharik had been transported to the hospital for an arm laceration and while there, repeatedly called a woman and threatened her life. According to reports, he suffered the injury when he broke a window while tearing up the house.

Sean D. Cremi, 21, of Hancock Avenue, was charged May 15 with domestic violence and domestic violence/threat or force. Cremi is accused of choking a woman, throwing her on the couch, pulling her hair and threatening to beat her if she left him.

Jose N. Molina, 26, of Norman Street, was charged May 15 with domestic violence and disorderly conduct. Molina is accused of being intoxicated and becoming violent toward his girlfriend, grabbing a knife and chasing her into a bathroom.

Joseph R. Bedford, 43, of Hazel Street, was charged May 13 with domestic violence. Bedford is accused of punching his mother in the eye and pushing her.

Austin A. Wilson, 26, of Santee Avenue, was charged May 13 with domestic violence and misrepresenting ID. He is accused of grabbing his girlfriend by the hair, punching her several times in the face, throwing her onto the ground and kicking and stomping on her arms. His girlfriend, Jennifer C. Bell, 22, of the same address, was charged with obstructing justice for harboring a fugitive. She is accused of telling police that Wilson was a fugitive on Washington's most wanted list but that she did not report his whereabouts to authorities because she loves him. According to reports, Wilson is wanted for child molestation, sexual assault and escape.

A 13-year-old Bellevue Avenue boy was charged May 8 with assault. A report said he kicked a teacher in the leg after the teacher restrained him because he was running around Goodyear Middle School, 49 N. Martha Ave.

Thefts

An East Thornton Street man told police May 16 that he had been robbed by a man in his 20s. The victim said he invited the man into his house for sexual activity and the man took his cell phone and PlayStation 2 before fleeing.

Thyrrin E. Lewis, 50, of East Market Street, was charged May 15 with robbery and criminal trespass. Lewis is accused of entering the BP at 316 E. Market St. and telling the clerk he was taking beer and there was nothing he could do about it. The report said he placed two cans of beer in his bag and tried to leave, but was confronted by the clerk, who took the beer away from him. Lewis is accused of punching the clerk numerous times in the head and back. Police said Lewis had tried to shoplift while in the store earlier and had been told not to return.

A 13-year-old Brandon Avenue boy was charged May 14 with receiving stolen property and extortion. A report said the boy demanded money from a woman in exchange for her engagement ring, which had been stolen. The boy was given $150 and he produced the ring, reports said.

William C. Oldham, 20, of Delia Avenue, and a 17-year-old Hayden Avenue boy were charged May 14 with aggravated robbery. The two are accused of entering the Delia Market at 964 Delia Ave., with two other people. producing a handgun and threatening a clerk while trying to take money. One of the alleged robbers was shot in the leg.

All-Tech Manufacturing, 1477 Industrial Parkway, reported a theft of barrels filled with steel tubing May 14. The loss was estimated at $3,000.

A Frase Avenue boy, 15, and a Colonial Hills Drive boy, 14, were charged May 10 with theft after they were accused of taking two pairs of jeans and a T-shirt from Value City, 1886 Buchholzer Blvd.

Miscellaneous

A West Market Street man reported ''assault by Web site'' May 16. He told police that Web sites and IPs had been set up and were beaming into his head, causing mental illness and impotence. The man said the sites are located downtown and affect all public officials.

Myron L. Townsend, 21, of Winton Avenue, was charged May 15 with bribery. According to a report, he was stopped for allegedly driving over a curb and was found to be driving under a suspended license. He is accused of offering an officer $100 to get out of the charges.

Personal property left by a homeless man was set on fire May 15 under the bridge at Brown and Corice streets.

A brick was thrown May 15 through a window of a Leora Avenue residence. The brick was wrapped in a note that said, ''You better stop [expletive deleted] my baby daddy before you get what's comin' to you!''

A Herberich Avenue resident found a loaded .40-caliber handgun with a laser sight in his front yard May 14.

Barberton
Arrests

Duante Bryant, 22, of Ninth Street Northeast, was charged May 19 with domestic violence and criminal damaging. He is accused of throwing a chair, and spitting on and trying to punch a resident assistant in the home.

Jesse J. Brown, 31, of Akron, was arrested May 19 on a warrant for felonious assault.

Breaking and entering

Someone broke into the Barberton Jaycees May 12 and stole a roll of copper wire and $10. Tools also were taken from the basement.

Burglary

A door was kicked in and a computer, monitor and wireless modem were taken from an apartment in the 200 block of Fifth Street Northwest between May 16 and 17.

Theft

A Benton Avenue woman reported May 16 that her 1999 GM Sierra truck was taken from her driveway overnight. The truck was involved in a hit-skip accident in Akron.

A 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix was stolen from in front of a home in the 400 block of Hall Avenue on May 16. The vehicle was recovered in Akron after being involved in a hit-skip accident.

Bath Township
Arrests

Steven Kaminski, 24, of Cuyahoga Falls, was charged May 11 with domestic violence, aggravated menacing and criminal damaging. Kaminski's ex-girlfriend told police she was in the 400 block of Bath Hills Boulevard when Kaminski pulled her out of her car by her hair, threw beer bottles on the car and dumped out her purse. She said he took her car keys and fled.
Forgery

Someone altered a check from Cambridge Home Health Care, 4085 Embassy Parkway, then cashed it for an undisclosed amount.

Coventry Township
Forgery

A Manchester Road restaurant owner told Summit County sheriff's deputies that two checks were removed from the restaurant checkbook May 13. One was cashed for $750, while a $1,950 check was recovered uncashed.

Theft

A Surfside Drive resident told deputies May 13 that a pontoon boat worth $15,325 was taken from her residence between May 6 and 11.

Cuyahoga Falls
Thefts

Jason R. Wenzdorfer, 26, of East Tallmadge Avenue, Akron, was charged May 15 with aggravated burglary. Wenzdorfer is accused of kicking in the apartment door of the mother of his child and threatening her.

Brian E. Akel, 18, of Cliffside Avenue, was charged May 15 with theft. Akel is accused of stealing about $300 while working at Marc's, 2900 State Road, by voiding transactions and taking the money.

A break-in was reported May 14 in the 300 block of Broad Boulevard. Someone entered a garage and took two gas ranges valued at $856.

Domestic violence

Christopher D. Wertman, 36, of Myrtle Avenue, was charged May 18 with felony domestic violence and vandalism. He is accused of grabbing his wife and pushing her into a wall and door. He also is accused of kicking out a rear window of the police cruiser.

Fairlawn
Burglary

Someone crawled into an open window at a home in the 200 block of Benson Road on May 15 and took two electric guitars, a video-game system and a video game, worth a total of more than $1,100.

Green
Arrest

Kenneth Higgins, 20, of Manchester Road, was booked at the Summit County Jail on May 10 after he was accused of punching a Clinton man and knocking him unconscious at a Massillon Road bar.

Theft

A Marietta, Ga., man told deputies at Akron-Canton Airport that a travel bag, clothing and a credit card worth a total of $57,200 were stolen May 11.

Breaking and entering

A rototiller and weed trimmer worth a total of $600 were stolen from a Hue Drive home May 13.

Lakemore
Arrest

Richard Curry, 27, of Fourth Street, was booked at the Summit jail May 9. He is accused of pushing a Warren woman several times and hitting her in the face during a confrontation at his home.

New Franklin
Theft

A Melton Avenue resident said a ratchet set and ammo box worth a total of $650 were taken from the bed of her truck.

Norton
Breaking and entering

Someone broke into Donald Lloyd's Hair and Nail Studio, 4085 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road, on May 17. An officer driving by investigated after seeing that the front-door window was smashed. The business was ransacked and about $200 was taken from a cash drawer.

Burglary

A Wadsworth Road resident reported May 17 that he found a basement window on top of the clothes dryer. He said nothing appeared to be missing from the home.

Criminal damaging

Several cars and homes on Johnson Road were reported damaged in a drive-by paintball shooting May 17.

Criminal mischief

A Hemphill Road man reported May 17 that someone hung a dead woodchuck above the door near his garage.
Fraud

A South Cleveland-Massillon Road woman reported May 15 that she received a phone call from a man who said he was a Barberton police officer. He told her to withdraw $2,000 from her checking account, and he would be over to pick it up. She did not withdraw the money.

Menacing

The owner of Jingle Brothers, 3318 Barber Road, reported that a new employee threatened to ''blow the place up'' after the owner disputed the employee's story that he was robbed. The owner said the man was outside his route when he called for assistance with his truck, and $120 in merchandise was missing.

Springfield Township
Passing bad checks

A Uniontown contractor told Springfield police on May 8 that he had done $2,500 worth of work for an Ambre Drive contractor, only to find that the check was returned for nonsufficient funds.

Thefts

Compact discs and electronic equipment worth a total of $875 were reported stolen May 13 from a vehicle parked at a Carper Street home.

A Pickle Road man reported May 11 that while he and his wife were vacationing, someone took his diamond ring worth $1,000 from a bedroom jewelry box.

A .380-caliber pistol and a GPS system worth a total of $556 were stolen from an Albrecht Avenue man's pickup truck on May 9. A window was smashed to get inside the truck.

Burglary

An Onondago Trail man's home was entered through a window May 8 and 20 CDs worth a total of $500 were reported stolen.

Alcohol/drugs

Matthew C. Garred, 30, of North Canton, was charged May 16 with operating a vehicle under the influence, driving left of center and having an expired operator's license.

Heather L. Siciliano, 21, of Linden Street, and Joshua L.R. Fortson, 20, of Windham, were charged May 15 with possession of cocaine and trafficking in drugs. Responding to a domestic dispute call, police reported finding narcotics in plain view. A gun, cocaine, $2,191, a digital scale and empty cellophane bags were found, reports said.

Kyle P. Miller, 26, of First Avenue, was charged May 11 with operating a vehicle under the influence, refusing a breath test, crossing marked lanes and littering from a motor vehicle.

Miscellaneous

A large plastic container with clothing and personal effects was found May 11 on Tallmadge Circle.

Terrance W. Webb, 43, of Ravenna, was charged May 17 with carrying a concealed weapon. Police learned Webb had an active warrant out of Brimfield during a traffic stop. He had a loaded .38-caliber handgun in the console, reports said.

Medina
Arrests

Thomas A. Brown, 39, of Carver Street, was charged May 16 with domestic violence. He is accused of assaulting his daughter.

Michael E. Halstead, 39, of Sullivan, was charged May 16 with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He is accused of taking a vehicle without permission from the 500 block of Birch Hill Drive.

Wadsworth
Arrests

Stephanie Mackiewicz, 25, of West Prospect Street, was charged May 19 with domestic violence. She is accused of assaulting her boyfriend during an argument.

Andrew Beskitt, 43, of Orchard Street, was arrested May 20 on a warrant from Norton. Police got permission from Beskitt's mother to search her home for her son. After the search, officers left, but stayed in the area to observe the home through a thermal imager to see whether Beskitt would return. A police sergeant saw Beskitt's mother at the back door and the lights were turned on and off twice. A short time later, Beskitt walked from the woods back to the house. Police returned to the home and arrested Beskitt.

Theft

A handgun was stolen from a car parked in the 200 block of Westview Avenue May 19 or 20.

Jacob Z. Goldsboro, 18, of Silver Lake, was charged May 18 with operating a vehicle under the influence, other prohibitions and speeding.

Michelle E. Bassa, 21, of Bedford, was charged May 16 with operating a vehicle under the influence and crossing marked lanes.

Jeffrey A. Walls, 23, of Azalea Drive, Ravenna, was charged May 14 with operating a vehicle under the influence and crossing marked lanes.

Ravenna
Drunk driving

Brent M. Chaney, 31, of Hazen Street, was charged May 17 with operating a vehicle under the influence and other offenses.

Portage sheriff
Burglary

A burglary was reported May 15 in the 9200 block of Limeridge Road, Mantua. Reports said the intruder forced through the front door and took numerous small items but ignored valuables.

Warrant arrest

Anthony M. Paternite, 22, of Highland Heights, was charged May 17 with trafficking in drugs.

Streetsboro
Miscellaneous

An Evergreen Drive resident called police May 8 after his Jack Russell was shot in the neck with a BB gun.

Stark County

Canal Fulton
Arrest

Ashley Deal, 18, of Colony Street, was booked at the Stark County Jail on May 9 on a warrant charging burglary, conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property.

Jackson Township
Arrests

George Paparodis, 53, of Columbiana, was picked up at the Mahoning County Jail, then booked at the Stark jail May 13 on a domestic violence warrant alleging telephone threats to a Jackson woman in late March.

Alex Taylor, 25, of Wertz Avenue Southwest, Canton, was jailed in Stark County on May 12 on a warrant for passing bad checks. Canton police made the initial apprehension, then he was booked by Jackson police.

David Smith, 31, of Hancock Street Southwest, Perry Township, was booked at the Stark County Jail on May 10 after a woman said she was assaulted at a Lindbergh Avenue Northwest home, her cell phone was broken and the home phone was disconnected.

Keith Cohen, 20, of Carl Street Northwest, Uniontown, was jailed in Stark County on a felony charge involving the theft of five rings from a Portage Street Northwest residence where he had been staying. He is accused of selling the rings for $100 to a Hartville jewelry shop.

Ryan Murphy, 22, of Oakdale Street Northwest, was jailed in Stark County on May 9 on assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, failure to comply with a police order and traffic violations. The report said he fought with an officer in front of his home, then was captured in the 7800 block of Hills and Dales Road Northwest.

Thefts

An East Sparta woman said May 10 that she placed her purse on her vehicle's roof while putting packages inside and drove off without retrieving the purse. When she returned, the purse and contents, worth a total of $1,161, were gone, and credit cards were used at two different stores before she could cancel them.

A GPS system worth $1,780 was reported stolen May 8 from a car at a Whipple Avenue Northwest car dealership.

The owner of a Hills and Dales Road Northwest coffee shop and cafe reported May 8 that $600 was missing from the cash drawer.

North Canton
Arrest

Zebulin Schoolcraft, 18, of Concord Avenue Southwest, Canton, was arrested in the 1500 block of Portage Street Northwest on May 10. He was accused of firing a 9 mm handgun at a relative outside the latter's West Maple Street home, then fleeing. He was booked at the Stark County Jail on felonious assault, domestic violence, improper discharge of a firearm into a residence and possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Plain Township
Arrests

Pershing Pyle, 59, of 34th Street Northeast, was taken to the Stark County Jail on May 9, accused of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct during an incident on Regent Avenue Northeast.

Jeffrey Jones, 21, of Kalahari Street Northeast, was jailed May 9 on warrants for three counts of domestic violence.

Uniontown
Breaking and entering

A Kaufman Avenue man said May 15 that his garage was entered and an air compressor and other tools, worth a total of $940, were taken.

Theft

An iPod, eyeglasses and a GPS system worth a total of $789 were reported taken from a Cleveland Avenue Northwest man's vehicle.
