Domestic violence
Antoine L. Townsend, 25, of Royal Place, was charged July 18 with felony domestic violence and domestic violence-menacing. Townsend is accused of locking a woman in a bedroom, taking her cell phone, then choking her and threatening to kill her.
Succo J. Moore, 31, of Madison Avenue, was charged July 17 with domestic violence-previous. Moore is accused of shoving a woman to the ground.
Eric Knox, 35, of Laird Street, was charged July 14 with domestic violence. Knox was accused of beating a 17-year-old girl with a belt. She had welts on her arm and a buckle mark on her forearm, police reports said. A 16-year-old boy was charged with disorderly conduct. Police said he started a fight with his brother and sister.
An Amherst Street girl, 17, was charged July 13 with domestic violence. She is accused of hitting her father and pushing him down the porch stairs. Police were called to the residence because a fight was reported.
Desmond J. Jones, 22, of Boylston Road, was charged July 13 with domestic violence and criminal damaging. Jones is accused of punching his ex-girlfriend in the chest and attempting to strangle her. He also kicked a TV, breaking it, and threw a laptop on the floor and stomped on it, reports said.
Theft
Chester J. Richmond Jr., 29, of Peerless Avenue, and Charles W. Dempsie Jr., 21, of Chester Avenue, were charged July 16 with robbery. Richmond and Dempsie are accused of assaulting and robbing a man on Sixth Street on June 16. They took the man's wallet, cell phone and $300, reports said.
Ashton D. Sophus, 18, North Main Street, was charged July 16 with burglary. Police said Sophus was observed leaving the scene of a burglary on Murray Avenue with a bag of change.
John L. Belka, 31, of Jason Avenue, was charged July 17 with breaking and entering, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. Belka is accused of breaking into Innes Middle School, 1999 East Ave. Police said they observed Belka carrying copper pipes. Jennifer S. Duecker, 23, also of Jason Avenue, was charged with breaking and entering. Police said Duecker was assisting Belka.
James L. Fowler, 45, of Brook Park, was charged July 17 with breaking and entering. Fowler allegedly forced open a window in the 800 block of Carroll Street and took tools and household items.
A break-in was reported July 15 in the 600 block of Morgan Avenue. Someone entered a basement window and took copper pipe.
A burglary was reported July 12 in the 1300 block of Country Club Road. Someone entered through an unlocked door and took an iPod, two mountain bikes, a video camera and an Xbox.
Gerald E. Tetrick, 44, of East Market Street, was charged July 15 with robbery. Police said Tetrick concealed a six-pack of beer in his bag at Drug Mart, 711 S. Canton Road. When he was confronted by a store security guard, Tetrick swung at him, but missed, reports said.
Animal cruelty
Fred Bowick, 52, of Amherst Street, was charged with cruelty to animals and disorderly conduct. He threw a 1-month-old puppy on the sidewalk, breaking its neck, reports said.
Drug offenses
David J. Richardson, 35, of Silver Street, was charged July 15 with drug abuse, trafficking in cocaine, possession of criminal tools, possession of marijuana, endangering children and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police executed a search warrant at the home and reported finding 73 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, marijuana, pipes and a bong. Three young children were present, reports said. Charles E. Mayfield, 56, of Cole Avenue, was charged with occupying a drug premises.

Dysean L. Carter, 24, of Hart Street, was charged with disorderly conduct and aggravated trespass.
Jeffery Dion, 25, of Greenwood Avenue, was charged July 15 with carrying a concealed weapon and having weapons illegally. Police said a loaded .40 caliber handgun was seen in the center console of Dion's vehicle during a traffic stop.
Bath Township
Burglary
Someone broke through the rear first-floor door and burglarized a home in the 4600 block of Ranchwood Road, according to a report filed July 16.
Misuse of credit card
An employee of Speedway, 9 Cleveland-Massillon Road, is under investigation for allegedly using a customer's credit card to purchase $50 in gasoline for his vehicle.
Copley Township
Arrests
Eric K. Johnson, 30, of Copley Road, was charged July 15 with cultivation of marijuana, tampering with evidence, illegally having a weapon, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana. Police said they executed a search warrant at Johnson's apartment, aided by the Summit County Drug Unit. Police said they found 35 marijuana plants, cultivation equipment, drug paraphernalia, two handguns, crack cocaine and more than $1,600 in cash.
Burglary
Someone broke into a home in the 2400 block of Cleveland-Massillon Road on July 17. Nothing appeared to be missing.
A diamond ring valued at $1,500 and about $400 in cash were reported taken during a July 19 burglary of a home in the 2200 block of Wright Road.
Theft
A 1998 Buick was reported taken from the parking lot of Super 8 Motel, 79 Rothrock Road, on July 19.
A card containing 30 Darvocet tablets, a narcotic painkiller, was found missing from Sumner on Ridgewood, according to a July 18 report.
Coventry Township
Arrest
Thomas Aleman, 48, of Point Drive, was booked into the Summit County Jail on a felony domestic violence charge July 13. He is accused of assaulting a woman at his home.
Theft
A Shook Road man said a PlayStation 3, digital camera and other items, with an estimated value of $1,050, were taken from vehicles parked at the residence July 17.
A bicycle valued at $583 was reported stolen from a Delora Drive front porch July 16, according to the owner.
A laptop computer, GPS unit and satellite radio, with an estimated value of $5,440, were reported stolen from a Wymore Avenue man's car while parked at his home.
Five koi fish, total value $700, were reported missing from a Hyfield Avenue man's backyard pond July 9.
Deputies are investigating a report that someone accessed a West Turkeyfoot Road man's bank account and removed $20,000.

George M. Trehaine Jr., 18, of Winter Parkway, was charged July 19 with felonious assault and tampering with evidence. Police said Trehaine stabbed a man in the stomach, then threw the knife onto the roof of Price Elementary School, 2610 Delmore Ave.
John R. Nist, 25, of North Portage Path, Akron, was charged July 19 with assault. He is accused of punching a woman in the stomach, slapping her across the face and scratching her shoulder.
A Union Street resident told police July 19 that a chemical bottle bomb was found in the front yard.
A 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle valued at $16,000 was reported stolen July 18 from the parking deck near Hibachi Japan.

Arrests
Michael Riddell, 43, of Mayfair Road, was jailed on July 18 on a domestic violence charge. A woman told police she was punched in the face and knocked to the ground during an argument at his home.
Herbert Higginbotham, 43, of South Arlington Road, was booked at the Summit County Jail on July 15 on charges of felonious assault, domestic violence, criminal damaging and operating a vehicle while impaired. Police were told Higginbotham used a vehicle to strike a person, then damaged a second vehicle.
Lawrence Burge, 52, of East Turkeyfoot Lake Road, was jailed on a domestic violence charge July 12. A woman told police she was shoved at his home during a quarrel.
Theft
A Nimisila Road man reported July 9 that $5,530 worth of furniture, clothing, electronic games and other items were missing.

Patrick J. Spilker, 30, of Meadow Farm Drive, was charged July 16 with domestic violence. Police said Spilker held a woman down on the ground.
Thomas B. Rhoads, 41, of Jonathan Drive, was charged July 13 with domestic violence.
Norton
Arrests
Paul Zelei, 44, of Rockcut Road, was charged July 16 with disorderly conduct, violating a protection order and aggravated menacing. He is accused of going to his estranged wife's place of employment on Wadsworth Road and threatening her and her co-workers if she did not give him money for food and cigarettes.
Nicholas Tedesco, 18, of Gardner Boulevard, was charged July 17 with domestic violence and criminal damaging. He is accused of denting his mother's truck and throwing her to the ground when she called 911.
James G. Howd, 46, of Holly Avenue, was charged July 18 with assault, obstructing official business, and disorderly conduct. He is accused of shooting a Hametown Road man, 21, in the arm with a BB gun.
Jerry L. Evans Jr., 41, of Norton Avenue, was charged July 19 with domestic violence. He is accused of slapping his girlfriend, 26.
Breaking and entering
Locks were cut from four storage lockers at Sentry Stor-All, 2995 Newpark Drive, July 19 or 20.
Springfield Township
Arrests
Dorothy Hannaman, 31, of Fritsch Avenue, was booked at the Summit County Jail on July 15 on a charge of felony illegal processing of a drug document. Police said she tried to fill a prescription at a Canton Road pharmacy with a forged document.
George Dismuke, 42, of Cleveland, was jailed July 10. Police said he attempted to pass a counterfeit $945 check at a South Arlington Street retail store.
Theft
A West Park Way resident told police July 11 that someone stole a $600 canvas Bimini cover from his boat.
On July 8, an East Waterloo Road boat shop reported that a boat motor, an engine and a GPS unit, with an estimated total value of $9,318, had been taken from the shop.

Jose L. Baca, 32, of Johnson Road, Kent, was charged July 21 with operating a vehicle under the influence, without an operator's license and outside marked lanes.
Joseph S. Deusanio, 46, of Lynnhurst, was charged July 20 with operating a vehicle under the influence, driving under suspension, outside marked lanes and having an open container.
Daniel W. Flanigan, 22, of East Main Street, Kent, was charged July 18 with operating a vehicle under the influence, outside marked lanes, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs.
Cyle R. Vargo, 22, of Macedonia, was charged July 17 with operating a vehicle under the influence and failure to yield-turning left.
Julie L. Thompson, 29, of Kent Road, was charged July 17 with operating a vehicle under the influence, driving left of center and outside marked lanes.
Cyle W. Volk, 20, of Louise Street, Mogadore, was charged July 16 with operating a vehicle under the influence, possession of drugs, underage possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Donald R. Lattimer, 52, of Adaline Drive, was charged July 16 with domestic violence. He is accused of threatening his wife and attempting to physically harm her.
Glen A. Van Kleeck, 70, of Mac Drive, was charged July 16 with two counts of gross sexual imposition.

Cedric M. McCullen, 38, of South Avenue, was charged July 21 with burglary, domestic violence and violating a protection order. Police said McCullen broke a door window to enter a residence. The resident and her child were locked inside a bathroom.
A burglary was reported July 13 in the 500 block of Morning Star Road. The resident was washing his vehicle in the garage when someone entered the house through a screen door and took a credit card statement and an envelope containing $250 cash.
Domestic violence
Lisa S. Froehlich, 41, of Newton Street, was charged July 19 with domestic violence. Froehlich was accused of punching her husband in the mouth.

Christopher Keger, 22, of Wellington, was charged July 18 with violating a protection order.
Brent Barnum, 24, of Creston, was charged July 21 with domestic violence.
Paul Jugov, 42, of High Point Drive, was charged July 21 with assault. He is accused of assaulting another patron at the Lantern, 665 Lafayette Road.
Robert L. Young, 45, of West Liberty Street, was charged July 22 with obstructing official business. He is accused of lying about his identity to police to avoid arrest on several warrants.

Arrests
Danny Miller, 57, of Barberton, was charged July 20 with domestic violence. He is accused of slapping his estranged wife at her Akron Road home.
Jonathan A. Osborne, 33, of Akron, was arrested July 19 on a parole violation warrant. He also was charged with failure to comply with an order of a peace officer. An officer saw Osborne in a car on High Street and recognized him. The vehicle was pulled over on Interstate 76. Police said Osborne failed to comply with an officer's orders to stay in the car, then had to be told repeatedly to lie on the ground, according to a report.

Drug offenses
Rhonda M. Talafhah, 41, of Old Forge Road, was charged July 13 with two counts of trafficking in drugs and obstructing official business. Jamie M. Novak, 25, of Old Forge Road, was charged with trafficking in drugs and obstructing official business.
Kent
OVI
Christopher R. Dennison, 19, of Aurora, was charged July 19 with operating a vehicle under the influence. Police said Dennison was observed drinking a beer while in the drive-through at Taco Bell, 805 E. Main St.
Christopher M. Goeden, 30, of Shermanwood Drive, Brimfield Township, was charged July 19 with operating a vehicle under the influence and improper lane use. Police said Goeden drove through a turn-only lane.
Samuel D. McNeil, 21, of Mogadore Road, was charged July 20 with operating a vehicle under the influence.
Robert S. Yurchison, 57, of Baird Street, Stow, was charged July 17 with operating a vehicle under the influence and driving under suspension. On July 14, he had been charged with disorderly conduct.
Charles A. Vliet, 23, of Cincinnati, was charged July 14 with operating a vehicle under the influence, driving under suspension, having an open container, littering and unlawful noise.

Wesley Gentry Jr., 53, of Silver Meadows Boulevard, was charged July 20 with felony domestic violence. He is accused of assaulting his wife.
Colin W. McIntyre, 29, of East Main Street, was charged July 20 with possession of drug paraphernalia, menacing and telecommunications harassment.

Michael R. Albaugh, 38, of Ellen Court, was charged July 20 with domestic violence. He is accused of punching and choking his wife.
Veronica Saunders, 33, of Timberview Drive, was charged July 20 with theft and receiving stolen property. Saunders is accused of trying to use a stolen check and bank card at Giant Eagle, 909 E. Main St., which earlier had reported the theft of a wallet. Police said Saunders fled the store, but was found by officers.
Shane D. Fetty, 27, of Chestnut Street, was charged July 17 with assault. Police said Fetty kicked a co-worker in the face. The victim required stitches, reports said.
Robert J. Bergman Sr., 49, of Newton Falls Road, was charged July 16 with operating a vehicle under the influence, refusing a breath test and speeding. Police said Bergman rear-ended another vehicle.

Gary C. Livengood, 34, of Fourth Street, Cuyahoga Falls, was charged July 18 with two counts of criminal nonsupport.
Wesley R. Jenkins Jr., 20, of Brady Lake Road, Ravenna, was charged July 17 with aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs.
Derek E. Chittock, 22, of Berlin Center, was charged July 17 with operating a vehicle under the influence, burglary and receiving stolen property.
Jesse D. Heeter Jr., 26, of East Riddle Avenue, Ravenna, was charged July 17 with two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs and possession of criminal tools.

A motorist pumped $30.06 worth of gas at Sheetz, 9745 State Route 14, and drove off without paying July 11.

Arrest
Lee Bailey, 28, of East Buchtel Avenue, Akron, was arrested and booked at the Stark County Jail on July 16 on a warrant accusing him of felony theft and misuse of a credit card.
Burglary
A Colony Road man said July 12 that a PlayStation 3 and a video game, total value $500, were taken from his home.
Jackson Township
Arrests
Paul Schmucker, 54, of West Boulevard Northwest, was booked at the Stark County Jail July 15 after turning himself in to Jackson police. He had been sought on a warrant charging aggravated menacing and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
Eric Brandenburg, 25, of Traphagen Street Northwest, was jailed on a domestic violence charge July 14. He is accused of throwing a woman to the ground and punching a man in an altercation at his home.
Jacen Geier, 33, of Palmer Drive Northwest, was booked on a domestic violence charge after turning himself in. Geier is accused of refusing to let a woman leave a house and pinning her against a wall on July 13.
Pamela Rampan, 30, of Traphagen Street Northwest, was booked July 12 on a charge of criminal damaging. Police said she argued with a passenger in another vehicle and pounded on the vehicle's window.
Kyndall Actkins, 21, of East Avenue, Akron, was booked July 12 on a warrant charging complicity to robbery. She was arrested by Cuyahoga Falls police.
James Baker, 44, of Wertz Avenue Southwest, Canton, was arrested by North Royalton police and booked at the Stark County Jail on July 7 on a warrant accusing him of receiving stolen property.
Theft
Several vehicles were entered and stereo and other electronic equipment, total value $2,521, were reported taken while parked at a Hills and Dales Road residence July 13.
Citizen band radio and TV equipment, total value $1,197, were reported stolen July 11 from a Portage Street Northwest truck stop.
A Canton woman told police July 11 that cash, a digital camera and other items, total value $652, had been stolen from her vehicle parked at a Sunset Strip Northwest motel.
North Canton

Sara Burghy, 18, of Valley Drive Southwest, was jailed in Stark on a warrant charging forgery and receiving stolen property in connection with a house burglary. Police said she tried to cash a check stolen from a North Canton woman's home.
Myles Muth, 18, of Eighth Street Northeast, Canton, and Brennace Andrews, 19, of Spangler Road Northeast, Plain Township, were each booked on charges of burglary, theft and vehicular trespassing. Police said they entered vehicles on Maplecrest Street Southwest and took loose change, candy bars and other items, total value $198. Muth also was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property.

A wedding ring, other jewelry and a projector video player, total value $9,925, were reported stolen July 14 from an Everhard Road Northwest home.

An Onahom Circle Northeast resident told Stark sheriff's deputies that he was robbed of $11,000 cash during a break-in at his home July 15.
Deputies are investigating a robbery July 9 at a Whipple Avenue Northwest thrift store in which $1,321 was reported stolen.
Breaking and entering
Two toy motorcycles, total value $1,000, were reported stolen from the garage of a 34th Street Northeast home on July 12.

An Estate Avenue woman said she saw two men enter her garage during a garage sale and leave with a $2,000 laptop computer July 11.
