A shipping delay is throwing a curveball in the Akron Aeros’ promotional plans.

Local baseball fans — and fans of the baseball movie Major League — will have to wait an extra day to get their Roger Dorn snow globes.

The Akron Aeros announced Saturday afternoon that there’s been a delay getting the promotional globes featuring a figure of Dorn, the fictional Indians third baseman played by Corbin Bersen in the classic movie Major League and sequels.

Instead of receiving a snow globe, the first 1,000 fans at Saturday night’s game will get a numbered voucher, a glossy Bernsen photograph for autographs and a game ticket to Sunday’s game, the Aeros said in a news release. The vouchers will be redeemable for a Dorn globe at Canal Park on Sunday beginning at 12:30 p.m., prior to the scheduled 2:05 p.m. game versus Altoona.

Bersen still is scheduled to sign autographs at Saturday night’s game.
