CAMBRIDGE, OHIO: The case against an eastern Ohio man accused of killing a pizza delivery driver will go to a grand jury.
Guernsey County Prosecutor Dan Padden said in an email that 32-year-old Adam Burris waived a preliminary hearing Tuesday in Cambridge Municipal Court. Padden says he expects to present the case to a grand jury, probably in February.
Burris was arrested on a murder charge in the death of 26-year-old Kayla Thompson of Cambridge, about 80 miles east of Columbus. His attorney didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment Wednesday.
Authorities say Thompson didn’t return from a delivery to Burris’ home Dec. 26. The sheriff says Burris was later taken into custody and led authorities to Thompson’s body near a boat ramp at Dillon State Park in neighboring Muskingum County.
