Veterans hall inducts 2 from area

Two local veterans have been inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame. U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Phyllis A. Fitzgerald, 72, of Coventry Township, is a veteran of the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve. She served in Operation Desert Storm and as chaplain of the Summit County American Legion Council and commander of the American Legion Garfield Post 566. She is a past member of the St. Francis de Sales Parish Council and is a member of the Portage Lakes Community Council.

Motorcyclist, 41, killed

AKRON: A 41-year-old Akron man died about 5 p.m. Saturday when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on Copley Road.
