AKRON
iPad buyer robbed
AKRON: An Akron man who answered a Craigslist ad for an iPad wound up being robbed by two men Wednesday night.
The man, 22, was not injured during the robbery at a business parking lot in the 200 block of East Exchange Street.
He told police he agreed to meet a man at 5 p.m. and purchase an iPad he found listed on the Internet classified ad website for $210.
When they met, the man shoved the customer, claimed he was armed and wanted money. A second robber then reached into the man’s pockets and took the cash, a cell phone and keys.
The two robbers ran to a black Pontiac Bonneville parked near Sumner Street and drove away.
Police say the robbers were two black men in their early 20s. One was stocky and wore a black hooded sweatshirt. The other was thinner and wore a black coat or hooded sweatshirt.
