AKRON: A 26-year-old man died during surgery early Sunday morning after apparently being shot inside a nightclub off Romig Road in Akron.
Police said the male was found collapsed with a wounded abdomen about 2 a.m. outside the Ace of Spades, 2511 Romig Road.
The man’s name was not released Sunday evening. Police said he lived at a Grace Avenue address.
Police said that as of early Sunday evening, no one has been charged in what they are calling a homicide.
Police said there was an altercation inside the Ace of Spades that involved gun fire. The man and others ran out.
No one else was reported wounded, according to authorities.
No weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.
The man died during surgery at 3:35 a.m. at Akron General Medical Center, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s office.
No other information was available Sunday.

AKRON: Metro Parks, Serving Summit County will host a public reception on Jan. 12 to kick off a new photography exhibit.
The reception will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Seiberling Nature Realm to open the 2013 Amateur Photography Exhibit.
Nearly 100 photographs, all taken in the park district, will be on display through May 30.
Hours for the show will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
