Old clothing was transformed into spectacular classics at Goodwill’s seventh annual Taste of Vintage Thursday evening at Quaker Station in downtown Akron.
Some 400 guests indulged in culinary treats from area restaurants and enjoyed a showcase of fashions from Goodwill’s Vintage Collection. The evening also honored Don and Cindy Misheff for their service to the community.
Mark and Sue Whitlam served as the 2012 honorary event chairs. Guests could bid on holiday bling, as well as art and wine packages.
This year’s models were Jennifer Arch, Gina Ardillo, Jeanine Black, Renee Booher, Madeline Bozzelli, Denise Bracken, Samantha Bricker, Samantha Buemi, Danielle Cantrell, Betty Dalton, Kelly Frank, Amy Glomski, Roseanne Henderson, Leianne Neff Heppner, Joanna Hughes, Margaret Lazzerini Jordan, Marilyn Keith, Anne Lazzerini, Tracy Mathia, Kim McFarlane, Yelena Meltok, J.J. Mesko-Kimmich, Don and Cindy Misheff, Erin Misheff, Kaitlyn Misheff, Julie Moldvay, Mary Morgan, Judy Moyer, Gina Nash, Linda Nuosci, Mike Pasternak, Kim Rice, Suzy Ruper, Cherie Shechter, Beth Sherwood, Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer, Danyelle Sweitzer, Barry Thoman, Heather Thoman, Michelle Thomas, Sylvia Trundle, Michelle Woodard and Jessica Zuschin.
“I love the variety of foods,” said Beth Gerberich, who attended with her husband, Mark. Kristina Housley said, “I have been to this before and I love to chuckle at what we used to really wear.”
Laura Miller coordinated the fashion show, and Lynn Parmentier volunteered as the collection seamstress.
Vicki Prussak, Phil Ferguson and Chris Demlow enjoyed the festivities. Demlow said, “I love the dresses, the crowd and the energy here.”
Sue Wilson and Tim Daugherty of Rubber City Radio emceed this year’s event.
