A Wyley Avenue man, 18, was charged with burglary. Police said the man broke into an Oakland Avenue residence and took a computer and three cameras.
A woman from Green, 42, was charged with driving under the influence. Police said the woman was involved in an accident on St. Michaels Avenue. The woman was taken to St. Thomas Hospital and refused to give a blood sample. The woman has a prior felony for driving under the influence and five prior arrests for driving under the influence.
A Watson Road, Maple Heights man, 33, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Police said officers were called to a Safer Plaza residence for a man with a gun. The man was found sitting inside a vehicle. Police reported finding the man in possession of a gun.
A Lindsay Avenue man, 53, was charged with breaking and entering. Police said the man was apprehended while stealing items from a property owner. He was detained by the owner until the police arrived.
A Hillcrest Street man, 20, was charged with robbery. Police said the man was taking items from a vehicle when he was apprehended by the owner of the vehicle. The man began to fight with the owner and ran. The owner grabbed the man’s backpack that contained his identification.
A Delos Street woman, 47, was charged with aggravated robbery and felonious assault. Police said the woman went to another woman’s home and assaulted her. The woman took several pieces of identification belonging to the woman.
A West Miller Avenue man, 28, was charged with aggravated robbery. Police said the man walked up to two men on East Archwood Avenue and robbed them at gunpoint.
An East Avenue man, 22, was charged with misuse of a credit card. Police said the man was caught on video using a stolen credit card at a Circle K on South Arlington Street.
A North Howard Street man, 46, was charged with theft. Police said the man was hired to remove specific items from a North Howard Street residence. While removing the listed items, he took other property worth more than $1,000. The man also took copper pipes from a Manchester Road residence.
An East Archwood Avenue man, 30, was charged with aggravated burglary. Police said the man knocked on the door at a Mack Street residence. When the resident opened the door, the man shoved him inside and put the victim in a headlock. The man also assaulted another man in the residence and then left with a Nintendo Wii video system.
A Wall Street man, 19, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing weapons illegally. Police said the man was observed placing a plastic bag under a trash bin on East Market Street. Inside the bag was a pistol. The observer called the police and turned the pistol over to them. Later the man was observed returning to the trash bin and the police were called. The man was apprehended and police reported finding the man in possession of an empty gun holster.
A Rhodes Avenue man, 49, was charged with disrupting public service. Police said the man got into an argument with a woman. The woman stated that she attempted to call 911 and the man ripped the phone out of her hand. Police said he was in possession of the phone when they found him.
A Bellevue Avenue man, 38, was charged with domestic violence.
A Denver Street man, 42, was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence.
A Merton Avenue man, 34, was charged with domestic violence and violation of a protection order.
An Ira Avenue man, 34, was charged with domestic violence and domestic violence menacing.
A Brady Avenue man, 52, was jailed for felony domestic violence Oct. 27 for allegedly hitting a woman multiple times.
A flat-screen TV, X-Box 360 system and video games, total value $1,249, were reported stolen Oct. 26 from an Oakwood Street home.
Misuse of credit cards
A Barberton woman said Oct. 31 that she was at a party on Fifth Street Southeast when her debit card was used to make purchases totaling $520 and was then placed back in her purse.
Two rings, total value $900, were reported missing Nov. 2 from a 23rd Street Northwest home. The victim told police she last saw the rings Oct. 26 when AMHA workers sprayed her apartment for bugs.
A Parkview Avenue woman said she returned home Oct. 29 to find two TV sets, total value $700, missing from the residence.
A woman reported Nov. 4 she was in the parking lot of a West Bath Road church when her vehicle was approached by a tall woman with short brown hair. The stranger said: “You probably do not recognize me because of my short hair and I have not been to church in a year.” The stranger then got into the passenger side of the vehicle and said she needed $40 to purchase a prescription. The woman gave the stranger $15.
A Kings Court woman, 29, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct Nov. 7. Her boyfriend called the police saying she was damaging property inside and outside his residence. She apparently became agitated when he started having sex with another female in front of her.
A Fairway Park Drive man, 54, told police his ex-girlfriend, 45, stole his passport. He said he left his home on Oct. 31 and found items in his residence damaged, and his passport missing.
An Akron man, 35, was arrested for an active warrant through the Summit County Sheriff Office on Nov. 3. He was also given a citation for driving under suspension. Officers pulled him over after noticing he had a broken headlight.
An Akron woman, 31, told police Nov. 4 that her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend was harassing her through phone calls and text messages. Officers called the ex-girlfriend and told her to stop calling, otherwise a warrant would be issued for her arrest.
A Ponciana Avenue man, 56, was jailed Oct. 19 on an aggravated menacing for allegedly threatening a female Summit County Sheriff’s deputy. The suspect was quoted saying, “If that female deputy that just harassed me gets near me again, I’m going to pull her out of her car and show her what being a black belt is all about.”
A 42-year-old Tallmadge man was arrested on State Road and Broad Boulevard after police found him in possession of suspected heroin.
A 16-year-old Ninth Street boy was charged Nov. 3 with theft. He is accused of stealing a gun from a vehicle in the 100 block of Grant Avenue.
A 47-year-old North Revere Road man was charged Nov. 1 with burglary and resisting arrest. He is accused of breaking into an Akron-Peninsula Road home and resisting officers who arrested him.
An 11-year-old Bolich sixth-grade student was charged Nov. 2 with disorderly conduct. He is accused of jumping on the backs of students and knocking them to the ground.
A 26-year-old 21st Street man was found in a parking lot of a State Road bar after he had been assaulted Nov. 5. He said he does not wish to prosecute.
A 25-year-old Americana Drive woman reported Nov. 4 someone broke into her apartment and grabbed her by the throat.
A Clyde Avenue women reported Nov. 5 someone threw a lit newspaper onto her deck and threw eggs at her house.
A 2004 silver Acura was stolen from a parking lot at 645 Howe Road on Nov. 4.
An Akron woman, 43, was arrested on theft and criminal trespass charges Nov. 7. She allegedly tried to steal $427.28 worth of merchandise by putting the merchandise in Wal-Mart shopping bags and walking out of the store. She was also charged with criminal trespass due to previous attempts at stealing from the store. She was banned indefinitely.
An Akron man, 21, was arrested on theft charges Nov. 7. He allegedly tried to steal a pair of jeans from Dillard’s in Summit Mall. He tried to conceal the jeans under his clothes, but was caught by security cameras. The value of the jeans was $49.99.
A Copley man, 19, was arrested for theft Nov. 4. He allegedly stole a bracelet from Spencer’s Gifts in Summit Mall. The total value of the bracelet was $3.99.
A Wadsworth woman, 30, told police someone had stolen her wallet out of her purse. She said she laid it down in the stockroom at work. She canceled her credit cards, but not before a few unauthorized transactions was made at the Target in Fairlawn and Cleveland.
A Guinevere Circle man told a deputy Oct. 23 that someone entered his home and stole $2,000 cash.
Several checks and a checkbook, total value $3,342, were reported stolen Oct. 22 from a Carlile Drive home.
Breaking and entering
Police met with a man in the 40 block of Clinton Street to take a report of a break-in Nov. 2.
A Mohawk Trail man, 35, was jailed for felony domestic violence Oct. 27 for allegedly punching a male in the head at a Linwood Road residence. The suspect was arrested at his home a short time after the incident.
A Hilbish Avenue female, 15, was booked at the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center on two counts of domestic violence Oct. 29 for allegedly punching her father in the face during an argument Oct. 20.
A $1,200 central air-conditioning unit was reported stolen from a Martha Avenue, Lakemore, home Oct. 30.
A 20-year-old Cherryhurst Drive man was charged Oct. 31 with obstructing official business. He is accused of fleeing from police investigating a domestic incident at his home.
A 28-year-old Akron man was charged Nov. 4 with domestic violence. He is accused of threatening his girlfriend’s 11-year-old son.
A 27-year-old Akron man was arrested on charges of rape and gross sexual imposition after an investigation.
Police are investigating a Nov. 1 report of the sexual assault of a child.
Parents reported Nov. 1 that their 15-year-old daughter had a sexual relationship with a man who is at least 23 years old. Police are investigating.
A Santom Road woman reported Nov. 6 that someone took more than $400 from her checking account without permission.
Five iPods were stolen from Echo Hills School between Aug. 22 and Oct. 31. The iPods are valued at a total of about $1,000.
A 56-year-old former Walmart employee was charged Nov. 4 with theft. She is accused of stealing $600 from the store.
A Manchester Road man, 29, was jailed Oct. 26 when arrested on a warrant charging him with passing bad checks and falsification.
A Canton man, 22, of 14th Street Northwest, was jailed Oct. 25 on a charge of felony theft. He was accused of taking men’s clothing from Macy’s in the Westfield Belden Village Mall on Belden Village Street Northwest where he worked and made fraudulent returns, receiving $1,889 in gift cards and cash.
Breaking and entering
Tools and equipment valued at $1,575 were reported stolen Oct. 29 from a vacant house on Lafayette Street Northwest.
A North Canton woman told police Oct. 30 that her credit-card numbers were used to charge items, total value $3,100, online without her permission.
A Jackson High School student said her $500 iPad was taken from the girls’ locker room Oct. 26.
Police were told Oct. 25 that a man short-changed a cashier $653 as he made a purchase with cash and kept exchanging bills until he left.
Three women entered Coach Leather in the Westfield Belden Village Mall on Oct. 19 and took three Coach purses, total value $894, and left without paying.
A warrant for receiving stolen property led to the Oct. 28 arrest of a Maple Avenue Northeast man, 43, at his home.
A Dorothy Avenue Northeast man, 26, was jailed for domestic violence Oct. 27 for allegedly pushing over a chair on which his father was sitting and punching the victim in the face.
