Green student accused of threatening teachers

Beacon Journal staff report

GREEN: A Green High School junior has been charged with six counts of aggravated menacing after pictures of six teachers were posted on his Facebook page along with the single word “murder,” officials said.

Dalton Holmes, 18, was arrested soon after school officials learned of the posting Friday and called the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Holmes was released Tuesday after posting bond and is awaiting a court date.

Meanwhile, his mother, Kelly Holmes, was arrested Wednesday and charged with crimes related to the incident, sheriff’s spokesman Bill Holland said.

Kelly Holmes is accused of menacing and intimidation of a witness through a Facebook message, Holland said.

He did not know details.

Holland said Dalton Holmes posted nine pictures.

Because the photos are considered the property of the school district, he has also been charged with a single count of theft.
