BARBERTON: The intersection at Fifth Street NE and Fairview Avenue in Barberton will be closed for sewer repairs starting 6:30 a.m. on Monday.
The work is expected to last up to 10 days.
Maxwell’s Recycling and the Sun Inn will remain open for business.
Officials say no homes will be affected by the road closing.
Detours will be posted around the work site.
BRECKSVILLE: The Cuyahoga Valley Regional Council of Governments will host a program by Tom Tyrell of the Great Lakes Biomimicry Collaborative on Wednesday.
The program will run from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in room 670 at the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, 8001 Brecksville Road.

Burglars take jewels
HARTVILLE: Police are looking for two people who entered the Hartville Coin & Jewelry store in the 1000 block of Edison Street Thursday morning and took an undisclosed amount of jewels.
Uniontown police said the entry through a window was at 3:30 a.m. and the thieves left in a red sport utility vehicle.
One intruder was described as a light-skinned black man, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, 200 to 225 pounds, wearing a mask, black pants and a black jacket.
Police do not know if the second intruder is a male or female but is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches and between 120 and 140 pounds.
A reward of $5,000 is offered for information leading to conviction. Call 330-699-6444.
MUNROE FALLS: The City Park and Recreation Board is seeking new members.
Board members oversee public park uses and policy, advise on operations and maintenance of parks, and make recommendations to city officials.

‘Stuff the Bus’
STOW: The Stow-Munrow Falls school district’s transportation department has joined forces with the high school’s student council to collect nonperishable food items for the Haven of Rest shelter in Akron.
The “Stuff the Bus” event kicked off this week in front of the high school, 3227 Graham Road.
Students set a goal of 10,000 items, but need the public’s help to reach that total.
Community drop-off times next week are: 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
