Scouts’ anniversary
AKRON: Akron Boy Scout Troop 75 is looking for past members for the troop’s 60th anniversary planned for July 14.
The troop, which meets at Akron’s St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, will hold a golf outing July 14 at Mud Run Golf Course at 2000 S. Hawkins Ave., followed by a picnic at the church at 1361 W. Market St.
The troop will honor three new Eagle Scouts in a ceremony at 3 p.m. March 4 in the chapel at St. Paul’s, bringing to 46 the number of Eagle Scouts in the troop’s history.

Food drive at library
MEDINA: Throughout March, the Medina County District Library will forgive a fine on one overdue item in exchange for a food item benefiting the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank.
While any unopened food item will be collected, only the following “Top 10” needed items can be used to eliminate a fine: Boxed cereal, peanut butter, canned vegetables, canned soup or stew, canned fruit, canned meats, canned juices, paper products, boxed spaghetti or macaroni, and boxed rice or beans.
The initiative is part of the local Harvest for Hunger campaign.
Pancake time
CHATHAM TWP:. The Chatham VFW Post is hosting the Sugar Bush every weekend during March at the VFW Post on 6299 Avon Lake Road.
The event includes all-you-can-eat pancakes and two link sausages.
Hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.
The cost is $6.50 for adults, $3.50 for children 12 and under, and $6 for senior citizens.

Chorus for a Cause
NORTH CANTON: The Children and Youth Chorus for a Cause is hosting a summer musical camp July 9-13 at North Canton Faith United Methodist Church.
Students ages 8-17 are invited to attend the daily day camp.
Local artists will teach vocal music, drama, choreography, costume making and set design, and the week will culminate in a public performance.
Register by Thursday to receive discounted tuition of $95. Afterward, the tuition is $110.

Nominees sought
RAVENNA: Nominations are being sought for the 14th annual Portage Environmental Conservation Awards dinner, which will be held April 21.
Nominees should contribute to Portage County’s environment through education, green business, green development, stewardship and environmental activism. The deadline for nominations is Thursday.
