• Archie the Talking Snowman will debut 7:30 to 10 p.m. Friday. After that, the display will be operational from 6 to 8 p.m. Fridays, noon to 8 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays, as well as noon to 8 p.m. Dec. 26 and 28.
• The Holiday Lighting Ceremony will be 7 p.m. Friday and will include a pyrotechnic and fireworks display.
• The Welcome Santa Holiday Parade will be 11 a.m. Saturday on Main Street.
• The Winter Farmer’s Market will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 15 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 16.
• Other activities at Lock 3 Park include ice skating, a 150-foot sledding hill, a holiday market, food and drinks, train rides and local Akron history and toy exhibits.
• Sponsors include Medical Mutual, Chapel Hill Mall, Goodyear, Bridgestone, the Akron Community Foundation and other local businesses that together paid most of the costs of the Lock 3 festivities.
