Sgt. Chris LaFond of the Montville Police Department drives a skid car to demonstrate skid recovery, one of the techniques that are taught to teens who attend the Take Control program, during a media event at Westfield Insurance on Thursday, in Westfield Center. The program, which is supported by the Ehrbar Angels Foundation, MStar Foundation and Westfield Insurance, is a three-hour class for licensed teen drivers between the ages of 16 and 19 that offers certified police officer instruction in collision avoidance, emergency braking and more.
