Turner Classic Movies to air political films
If this has given you the urge to watch movies about politics, you don’t need to make a trip to the video store. Turner Classic Movies is showing political films on Friday nights in October, as well as airing an hourlong special, Hollywood Goes to Washington.
The special, which includes clips from movies and interviews with filmmakers and critics, next airs at 10 p.m. Friday on TCM. Movies on that night include Born Yesterday (1950), The Great McGinty (1940) and I Married a Witch (1942).
Among the other titles in the series are A Face in the Crowd (1957), The Glass Key (1942), Flamingo Road (1949), Advise & Consent (1962), All the President’s Men (1976) and Seven Days in May (1964).
