Man suffers burns, cuts after returning to burning trailer to save dogs in Green

Beacon Journal staff report

A man suffered serious injuries after he went back into his burning trailer to save three dogs Tuesday night in Green, according to a report by WEWS-TV.

The station reported that three adults living in the trailer in the 4100 block of Massillon Road managed to escape, but one man tried to save the animals.

He was overcome by smoke and flames and had to break out windows to escape. He received second-degree burns and cuts to his hands and arms, firefighters said.

All three people were taken to area hospitals. The other two people living in the trailer were treated for smoke inhalation and minor injuries.

WEWS reported that one dog emerged from the smoldering trailer. New Franklin and Jackson Township departments assisted Green.
