Many Congressional members in serious debt, study shows.

It's no secret that many members of Congress are extremely wealthy, but it may not be quite as well known that many of them are seriously in debt.

A new report by the Center for Responsive Politics shows that numerous Congressional members owed between $238.9 million and $568.3 million to creditors, not including home loan mortages. Some have credit card balances of upwards of $100,000.

No Congressional members from Ohio made the list of those who owed the most. One familiar name was among the top, though: Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who ran for president in 2008.
