MEDINA: The Medina County Health Department has a new environmental health director.
Colin Johnson will oversee such programs as food safety, plumbing and septic inspections, mosquito control and nuisance animal complaints.
Johnson comes to Medina County from the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, where he most recently served as supervisor for waste and wastewater programs. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Baldwin Wallace University and his master’s in public health from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine/Cleveland State University.
“This was more than an opportunity for career growth,” said Johnson, who has lived in Medina since 2005. “It’s also a chance to help make my hometown a safer and healthier place to live and work.”
