Oklahoma woman, her 4 young children found slain

By Tim Talley
Associated Press

EL RENO, OKLA.: Authorities are searching for a 25-year-old man in connection with the killings of an Oklahoma woman and her four young children.

Police said today they consider Joshua Steven Durcho a suspect in the deaths of 25-year old Summer Garas and her four children, ages 3 to 7. Police found their bodies Monday after being called to the family's apartment.

State Medical Examiner's office spokeswoman Cherokee Ballard said the deaths were homicides but declined to elaborate.

Durcho's connection to the family was not disclosed. Prison records show he was convicted as a juvenile of car theft and sentenced to four years in prison in 2003 for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Police were searching for Garas' missing car.
