Persistent group contends United States is being led by foreign-born president

NEW YORK: Six months after Barack Obama's inauguration, a persistent and noisy legion of doubters won't let go of an already debunked claim — that he is actually a foreign-born, illegal president.
The issue has flared again on political blogs, TV news shows and even a town hall meeting, widely circulated on YouTube, in which a Republican congressman was booed for saying Obama is a citizen.
Mainstream Republicans who want the issue to go away are having a tough time stamping it out as the so-called ''birthers'' resurface, with assists from talk show host Rush Limbaugh and CNN's Lou Dobbs.
Some who had initially dismissed the claim as a laughable political sideshow now wonder whether it's gotten out of control.
''I've stopped laughing,'' New York Daily News columnist Errol Louis wrote Thursday. ''Too many political and media leaders are deliberately fanning the flames of ignorance and fear, and they should be ashamed.''
Passions among the birthers run so high that Rep. Mike Castle, of Delaware, was booed by his own constituents at a recent town hall meeting for saying Obama ''is a citizen of the United States.'' He was responding to a woman who waved her own birth certificate, contended Obama was born in Kenya, and shouted out, ''I want my country back!''
Theories that Obama was born abroad abounded during the presidential campaign, even after an official Hawaii birth certificate was produced, along with August 1961 birth notices from two Honolulu newspapers. Numerous lawsuits and emergency appeals were lodged challenging Obama's eligibility to be president, and all were rebuffed.
The Constitution states that a person must be a ''natural-born citizen'' to be eligible for the presidency. The birthers contend that Obama's Hawaiian birth certificate is a fake, and many say he was actually born in Kenya, his father's homeland.
Dobbs has broached the issue several times, saying at one point, ''The questions won't go away.''
And 10 Republican members of Congress have co-sponsored a bill that would require future presidential candidates to provide a copy of their original birth certificate.
One of those congressmen, John Campbell of California, was pressed by MSNBC's Chris Matthews as to whether he believed Obama was a U.S. citizen.
''As far as I know,'' Campbell replied.
John Feehery, a GOP consultant and former press secretary for Dennis Hastert when he was House speaker, suggested that Dobbs and other broadcast figures were seeking to capitalize on the controversy to boost ratings.

Obama may or may not be able to produce a TRUE birth certificate.
Obama may or he may not be a TRUE U.S. citizen.
But there is one thing for certain...Obama IS a closet Muslim.

MaD ~ I respect everyone's choice of faith.
That being said, the Muslims DO NOT respect and offer the same to other faiths!
Through the teachings of their bible it is mandated that they convert the world to the Muslim faith. In their world those who are not of the Muslim faith are infidels that must convert or be killed.
In their faith they believe that one can only gain access to Heaven if their good out weighs their bad or, if they die in a battle of Jihad (killing off the infidels). Thus a big reason for 9/11.
We have heard that there are moderate Muslims. But don't be fooled as these are those waiting orders.

NO! I respect everyone's own choice. I may not believe theirs to be the right one as I don't believe all faiths lead you to the same place. But I also believe a person must come to and accept the belief voluntarily and not out of compulsion.
The Muslims are attempting to dominate and take over the world and have been successful in all but getting their flag to fly over the White House.

fat- Your you tube video was painfully boring, and pure conjecture! Just look at the religious crimes in this country in the name of God, Waco TX! This fiasco gave us the Oklahoma bombing! There are religious exremists everywhere. One could say the same about Christianity taking over the world given the violent crusades...

MaD ~ you should also understand what the plan of Iran is and has been. First you must understand that most Muslims are expecting the return of THEIR messiah known as the Twelfth Imam or the Hidden Imam.
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes he has had a conversation with their messiah who indicated that he would be returning to set up his reign as their messiah.
The Iranian President Ahmadinejad also believes that the messiah told him that though he will be returning in a couple years that he could not come back until certain conditions are met.
1) There must be total chaos through out the world so he the messiah can bring peace. The Muslims believe they must bring about the chaos and are doing so.
2) Israel MUST be wiped of the face of the world. The President of Iran has vowed to do that. Thus we have the reason they want atomic energy aka the back door to nukes.
3) The Great Satan aka United States MUST also be done away with.
Of course, rather than support Israel in their attempt to stop Iran from attaining Nukes, Obama has stated that he believes Iran has the right to atomic energy.
Yet once they do attain the right to atomic energy it is a known fact that they will proceed to the production on nukes and at that point the cat is out of the bag.

MaD ~ you are free to believe what you may. So far we STILL have that right in this country. I do hope that is works out for you in the end.
How ever, I do accept and admit that there are those as were in Waco that are committing crimes in the name of God. That does however, not make them right in what they do.
I have however studied the Muslim faith and what they believe and find it most troubling.
If you find it to be a challenge for all the religious crimes to have been taken place in the name of God one can't help but wonder what you would be thinking when a faith comes to your family and orders them to convert or have their head removed from their shoulders.
Wake up my friend! It’s closer to happening that you want to believe .

Obama DID produce his TRUE birth certificate.
He is a TRUE American citizen.
Obama is NOT a Muslim and it wouldn't matter if he was a Muslim anyways.
Birthers are nutjobs, out of the closet babies who can't handle the fact that this man is our President.
Why is that?
