The Ohio Department of Transportation will hold two public meetings this week to talk about installing noise walls in northern Summit and southern Cuyahoga counties.
The state agency will hold an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Northfield Center Town Hall, 9546 Brandywine Road, to discuss installing noise barriers along ramps between state Route 8 and Interstate 271 in Macedonia and Northfield Center Township.
The noise barriers are intended to reduce highway traffic noise in neighborhoods along Hazel Drive, East Oakmont Way and North Oakmont Drive.
The cost is expected to be $5.6 million and begin during summer 2014.
ODOT will hold a meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bedford Heights Community Center, 5615 Perkins Road, Bedford Heights, to discuss installing noise walls along I-271.
The proposed walls would run between Miles Road and the Summit County line in Warrensville Heights, Bedford Heights and Oakwood.
The sessions will be an open house format where participants can look over information about the projects, ask questions and submit comments.
