McCain to appear in Ohio with Lance Armstrong

By Associated Press

COLUMBUS: Presidential hopeful John McCain will be in tandem with Lance Armstrong at the cycling champion's cancer summit getting under way in Columbus.

Republican McCain plans to talk about his plans for furthering the fight against cancer and take questions during a town hall meeting with Armstrong Thursday evening.

Armstrong's four-day Livestrong Summit at Ohio State University will train about 1,000 cancer survivors and others to raise money and awareness about cancer.

McCain's trip will be his eighth to Ohio as his party's presumptive nominee.

Democrat Barack Obama also was invited by Armstrong's foundation but declined because of his weeklong overseas trip.
