Ohio native takes second place on 'Project Runway'

By Associated Press

DAYTON, OHIO: An Ohio designer missed it by a thread, placing second on the latest season of TV's Project Runway.

Twenty-four-year-old Dayton area native and University of Cincinnati graduate Althea Harper learned the outcome on the finale that aired Thursday night on the Lifetime channel.

The judges chose to award the $100,000 first prize to fellow contestant Irina Shabayeva.

Harper said on the show that she still considered herself a winner because the experience allowed her to meet great friends and get great advice.

The episodes were taped a year ago but were held up by a legal dispute between Lifetime and Bravo, the network that aired the five earlier seasons of Runway.
