Police say Akron woman drove through crowd during fight

Beacon Journal staff report

An Akron woman faces a string of charges after police say she drove her car through a crowd Saturday morning.

Authorities say they were called to a report of a large fight between a group of females at 5:30 a.m. at Cole Avenue and Hammel Street.

Officers say five females complained that Roamonaye M. Carr, 18, of Talbot Avenue intentionally struck them with the car she was driving. One of the victims was Carr’s sister.

Three of the women were taken to Akron-area hospitals for treatment for undisclosed injuries. Two others were treated at the scene.

Carr was apprehended at the intersection of Sixth and Talbot avenues. She is charged with five counts of felonious assault and one count of driving without a license.
