BEDFORD HEIGHTS, OHIO: The medical examiner’s office says a suburban Cleveland man who died last month after fighting with officers at a jail had a heart attack.

The death of 38-year-old Omar Arrington-Bey was ruled a homicide, and an investigation is continuing into whether officers at the Bedford Heights jail violated any rules or laws.

The Plain Dealer reports Arrington-Bey had been fired from his job and stopped taking his psychiatric medication on June 21. He was arrested and jailed after an incident at the Lowe’s store that fired him.

After an altercation with officers at the jail, he was placed in a restraint chair and lost consciousness. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
