Three to 5 inches of snow could fall over the Akron area on Tuesday, but even more snow is likely in Cleveland, where the two Democratic presidential contenders will be debating that evening.
The National Weather Service is forecasting periods of rain, snow and freezing rain for Northeast Ohio tonight.
That slushy mixture could change to snow Tuesday afternoon. A total accumulation of 3 to 5 inches is predicted for the Akron area.
In Cleveland, where Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will square off in a 9 p.m. debate at Cleveland State University, 4 to 8 inches of snow is anticipated on Tuesday.
A winter storm watch is in effect for Northeast Ohio for Tuesday morning until Tuesday evening, the weather service said.
