Beacon Journal staff report
Northeast Ohio's top manufacturing organization has a new chief.
David M. Fouts was named president and chief executive officer of MAGNET, the Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network.
The economic development group has a product development team, training programs, an incubator and a host of resources aimed at helping the region's manufacturers grow.
''Our challenge is to partner with industry and economic development organizations across the region to build the infrastructure that will enable manufacturers to be globally competitive,'' Fouts said.
Fouts has 30 years of management and consulting experience in the automotive, consumer products and general manufacturing industries. He spent 28 years at Ernst & Young before leaving to create his own consulting firm, Towpath Partners.
Fatima Weathers, who has been acting president during the search, will remain with MAGNET as chief operating officer.
