Former Reagan chief of staff Ken Duberstein told CNN’s Fareed Zakaria this week he intends to vote for Democrat Barack Obama on Tuesday.

Duberstein said he was influenced by another prominent Reagan official - Colin Powell - in his decision.

“Well let’s put it this way - I think Colin Powell’s decision is in fact the good housekeeping seal of approval on Barack Obama.”

Powell served as national security advisor to Reagan during Duberstein’s tenure as chief of staff.

Duberstein spoke with Zakaria about his final days in the Reagan White House. The Reagan official, along with Clinton Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Carter National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski, also discussed the transition process to a new administration.

WHO IS JOHN McCAIN? Read below.

I wish I could say I was surprised by this, but let face it: there were signs. There was John McCain’s long opposition to a national holiday for Martin Luther King, Jr., his use of racial epithets, his love of racist jokes, and the increasingly racist tone of his campaign.

It seems that John McCain was a member and sat on the board of the US Council for World Freedom (”USCWF”), an organization noted for its extreme ideology, racism, and anti-semitism. This organization has been described as “largely a collection of Nazis, fascists, anti-Semites, sellers of forgeries, vicious racialists, and corrupt self seekers.” Why on earth would John McCain associate himself with such a group? Why would he take a leadership position with it?

John McCain’s membership in this group goes a long way towards explaining why his brother Joe McCain goes around referring to everything he doesn’t agree with as “communist.” In the eyes of this group Jews, Blacks and Communists are all pretty much the same thing.

I don’t see how anyone who calls themself a friend of Israel could be involved in any way with such an organization, let alone sit on its board and coordinate its activities. When it comes to racism and anti-semitism, John McCain has a lot of explaining to do.

Well, if we’re going to play the Guilt by Association game, let’s go!

Senator Obama is not being truthful when he says only Americans earning $250,000 will get a tax increase.

Senator Obama plans to let the current 2007 rates lapse. The rates under Obama will return to the higher 2000 level. Senator Obama claims that letting a tax cut lapse is not a "tax increase."

But requiring Americans to pay more taxes than in 2007 amounts to a TAX INCREASE.

For a married family, filing jointly and earning $75,000 a year, this INCREASE will be $3,074.

For a married family, filing jointly and earning $50,000, this INCREASE will be $1,512.

Even struggling American families making just $25,000 a year will see a tax INCREASE-- they'll pay $715 more in 2010 than they did in 2007.

Across the board, ALL WORKING AMERICANS WILL SEE SIGNIFICANT INCREASES in their taxes with Obama's plans.

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money."

Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more.

At the end of the day, I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn.

I guess Obama's redistribution of wealth is easy to swallow until it happens to you.

The middle class cannot become strong again by allowing the government to become an integral part of every aspect of its existence. The government has proven over and over again (see: 1930s, 1960s and 1970s in the US) it is a lousy arbiter of wealth distribution.

The only way the individual can get ahead is by making good personal and financial choices. No one held a gun to the head of a loan applicant to sign up for a mortgage they could not afford. In fact the federal government (led by congressional dems) helped perpetuate the disaster by forcing banks to make bad loans to people who couldn't afford it in order to be "fair" to minorities. People made bad choices and now want the government to bail them out.

Also, the overall economy was expanding and had in fact expanded uninterupted for a record length of time. The housing bubble, caused by the dems, burst which caused this downturn. Other factors included oil prices, which the dems wouldn't help to lower by allowing drilling off the coasts and in ANWR.

Ohio's economy has sucked for years, including when BJC was president, and can be blamed on poor leadership in Columbus, not DC.

Senator Goldwater's granddaughter and the rest of his descendants have endorsed Obama because they can't stomach the sleaziness of the Republican campaign or the philosophy of the 'new' Republicans-today's Republican party is nothing like the Republican party of Goldwater, Rockefeller, and Eisenhower. George W. Bush and Karl Rove have turned a fiscally conservative, socially moderate, small government party into a disgusting machine for the looting of the taxpayers by well connected big businesses like Halliburton and Bechtel. They favor intrusion into private matters such as whether or not a woman should get an abortion, and Palin favors the end of separation of Church and State. McCain clearly would give us more of the same as the current Administration. Their incompetence has given us huge budget deficits and a catastrophic failure of the banking and finance system. No wonder traditional Republicans like George Will and Secretary Powell are leaving the party in droves. The new Republican party's motto should be, "Not your father's Republican Party -Unfortunately!" Vote Obama for a return to sanity and responsibility.

Vote Obama and Vote for four more year of Jimmy Carter's Policies!! Vote for Higher Taxes, Higher Interest Rates, Higher Unemployment, More Dependence on Foreign Oil!!! No one is responsible for their actions!!! Vote for Weaker Military and Weaker standing Overseas!!!

Any Republican who is voting for Obama because of what they perceive has happened to their party in the past eight years was not a true Republican. A vote for Obama, Pelosi and Reid is a vote for a far left wing government that will certainly more intrusive on personal rights than the conservative Pro Life stand.

The Obama campaign has given a few glimpses on how he will govern if he is elected:

Three reporters have been booted from his plane because their papers endorsed McCain.

A TV station in Orlando has been black balled because a reporter asked Joe Biden some tough questions.

Democrat operatives from the great state of Ohio have broken several privacy laws in order to dig up dirt on Joe the Plumber, who's only "crime" was to ask a question of BHO who answered it by stating his true intentions of wealth distribution.

BHO's half brother and aunt are living in slums while he is a millionaire. While he keeps saying we are our brother's keeper. Sounds like he is waiting for the government to help his relatives.

BHO hasn't held a press conference in over a month.

Couple this with all of the secrecy regarding his life (grades at Cambridge and Harvard are sealed, Thesis at Cambridge won't be released, health history not available, original birth certificate not released, Aunt has been told to not talk to press until after the election, etc) and to state he will be an improvement is just wishfull thinking.

The Republican mantra of "feed the rich,starve the poor" just cannot be tolerated any longer. They have literally strangled our goose that lays golden eggs nearly to the point of death. And to think of how they brag about being such good Christians while practicing this abysmal policy,is just simply unfathomable,and an oxymoron.

The American people,and the rest of the world at large,simply cannot afford to be fooled again by their increasingly obvious contempt and malice for all who are not fortunate enough to be included as part of their chosen few.
