Heavy snow possible
The National Weather Service warns that a potential snowstorm is coming that could bring 6 to 8 inches of snow to some parts of Northeast Ohio.
A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect tonight through Saturday afternoon for much of northern Central and Northeast Ohio.
The weather service said snow will spread across the area this afternoon and evening with moderate to heavy snow possible at times.
Anywhere from 6 to 8 inches of snow is possible with heavier amounts likely toward the Lake Erie shoreline, the weather service said.
There is also a small chance of sleet and freezing rain.

Stow man missing
AKRON: Akron police are asking for help with their search for a 58-year-old Stow man who was last seen Saturday at a Wedgewood Drive shopping plaza in Akron.
Timothy Heil weighs about 260 pounds and is 6 feet 4 inches tall. He has short brown hair, a fair complexion and wears glasses.
He was driving his 1996 green Chevy Suburban with Ohio license plate DCM-5915.
Anybody with information on Heil's whereabouts is asked to contact Akron police at 330-375-2490.
Office moves
AKRON: The Akron West Social Security office, currently at 1655 W. Market St., is moving to 2166 Romig Road.
Business services will be limited at the current location from Jan. 12-16 because of limited computer and telephone access during the relocation process.
Officials recommend business be conducted online if possible.
The Web site is http://www.socialsecurity.gov.
Telephone service is available from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. by calling 800-772-1213 weekdays.
The new office will open Tuesday, Jan. 20, with the same hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
The branch manager is Tracey Griggs.
Fatal robbery arrest
AKRON: Police have charged a second man with robbery as part of the investigation into the December shooting death of a 21-year-old man.
Police are still investigating the killing of Rashan C. Lewis of East Brookside Avenue, who was shot once in the head with a small-caliber weapon, authorities said.
Lewis' body was found Dec. 21 in his mother's vehicle in a parking lot along Sixth Avenue.
Police said Thursday they have charged Kenneth D. Cash, 21, of Akron, with one count of aggravated robbery. Police say Cash was observed leaving the scene where Lewis was robbed and killed.
Last month, police arrested Allen Walker, 24, of Akron, on aggravated robbery charges. Police say he confessed to the robbery being planned.
Police Lt. Rick Edwards said detectives are still trying to determine who shot Lewis.
Anyone with information can call 330-375-2490.
Robber sentenced
AKRON: Summit County Common Pleas Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer on Thursday sentenced an Akron man to six years in prison after he pleaded guilty to kidnapping and aggravated robbery in October for a March 21 incident.
Jemar Simmons, 18, was convicted by a jury for his role in an attack on an Akron man with what appeared to be a hammer. An unknown accomplice attacked the victim with a knife.
The two beat the man in front of his 4-year-old daughter, then left with the child. When confronted by police, Simmons let go of the child's hand and fled.
The second man never was identified. Simmons refused to give information about him.

Copley wants RTA
COPLEY TWP.: Residents would be willing to take the bus instead of their cars to get to nearby shopping venues if the service were available.
This finding as part of the township's Comprehensive Land Use Plan committee meetings in recent months prompted trustees Wednesday to ask Summit County's Metro Regional Transit Authority to establish bus service in Copley.
The resolution outlines a proposed bus service that township residents could take to Akron, to Cleveland and to regional shopping centers.
In addition, it asks the RTA to establish a Park-n-Ride facility in the township.
Township Administrator Peggy Spraggins said the resolution's timing could be pivotal because the RTA is in the process of changing all of its routes and looking at its five-year plan.
CUYAHOGA COUNTY
Agency leader hired
CLEVELAND: Cuyahoga County commissioners hired a new leader for the Children and Family Services department on Thursday.
Deborah Forkas will begin heading the agency, which protects the county's abused and neglected children, on Monday.
The position pays about $125,000 a year.
Forkas, 51, replaces James McCafferty, who became county administrator in July.
Forkas most recently worked as an assistant director in Summit County's child welfare department. She has had experience working in Cuyahoga County.
Forkas takes over the agency at a time when the county is making budget cuts that could lead to heavier caseloads for department workers.
The agency has nearly 4,500 children in custody or placement. Commissioners named Brenda Frazier as Forkas' deputy.
Frazier served as the department's interim director while officials searched for McCafferty's permanent replacement.

GREEN SCHOOLS
Lucas plans exit
GREEN: Outgoing Green schools Superintendent Wade E. Lucas has agreed to stay until March 20, the last day of classes before spring break.
After 20 months as superintendent of Green Local Schools, Lucas last month accepted the job as superintendent of the much larger Olentangy school district in Delaware County near Columbus.
Lucas said Green school board members want his help in the initial stage of a search for a new superintendent.
''By no means am I going to pick the new superintendent,'' Lucas said. ''That's a board, community decision.''
Board members met with a representative of the Finding Leaders search firm Thursday night.
The board previously used Finding Leaders for the search that yielded Lucas.
Negotiations continue over Lucas' contract with the Olentangy district, including his pay. His annual salary at Green is nearly $120,000.
Lucas previously was superintendent in the Coshocton city district.
Heavy snow possible
