The group Leadership Akron announced it has selected a class of 34 for its 2009-2010 program.
The class includes participants from the area's business, government, and nonprofit sectors.
The program is in its 26th year.
The group begins with a city tour and two-day orientation retreat and spends a full day each month on some aspect of the community.
Its topics include: social services, government, health care, education and justice, among others.
Members of the new class are: Brooks E. Ames, auctioneer and Realtor, Russ Kiko and Associates; Beverly A. Bokovitz, senior vice president, chief nursing officer, Akron General Medical Center; Roxia B. Boykin, vice president, community relations and diversity, Summa Health System.
