TOLEDO, OHIO: A trial has been rescheduled for a man who is accused of lying to investigators about the disappearance of an Ohio toddler who was later found dead.
Police last month found the skeletal remains of 19-month-old Elaina Steinfurth in the rafters of a Toledo garage that belongs to the man’s family.
A judge on Tuesday delayed the trial for Steven King II until Nov. 4 as investigators continue looking into the girl’s death. No one has been charged in the killing.
King had been dating the girl’s mother, Angela Steinfurth. She remains jailed after being charged with obstructing official business in her daughter’s disappearance.
King told reporters after his arrest on an obstruction charge in July that he is innocent.
