Beacon Journal staff report
Akron firefighters battled a fire in a house on North Arlington Street early today.
The fire broke out shortly after midnight and was under control by 1 a.m., according to Beacon Journal news partner WEWS.
Two residents escaped safely.
Fire officials said the fire may have been due to a spark in the attic from a wood burner in the basement.
Firefighters battled low temperatures that produced ice and slippery conditions.
