Riki, author of Who Said You Can’t Be the President’s Dog, will be at The Learned Owl Book Shop (204 N Main St, Hudson) on Saturday, April 18th from 1 – 3 p.m. She will be reading from her book and signing copies.
Who Said You Can’t Be the President’s Dog is a storybook in rhyme about how kindness and loyalty make for the best pet, whether pedigreed pooch or pound puppy. Bold, bright illustrations depict all kinds of dogs and appeal to both kids and adults.
Riki will donate a portion of proceeds to animal charities. And for each copy sold on April 18th, The Learned Owl Book Shop will donate $1 to the Humane Society of Greater Akron.
Also, you can help your local animal shelter and have chance to win a $50 gift certificate.
April is 'Hudson Goes to the Dogs' month, a time when many merchants in town help charities that help animals. The Learned Owl Book Shop is doing its part by offering a chance to win a $50 gift certificate.
For each dollar donated to the Humane Society of Greater Akron at the book shop, you'll receive a colorful paper paw print to add to their "gallery of paws." You will also be entered to win a $50 Learned Owl Book Shop Gift Certificate.
Spring doesn't just mean lots of flowers, it also means lots of kittens and puppies. This is a season when animal shelters need a lot of help. Every little bit counts.
