Here I am blogging from Sunny California.
Now, before you go getting too jealous: Ohio's weather report was at 80 degrees, and I sat in 70 degree weather yesterday. So, you win.
I took at stroll to grab a cup of joe, and just loved the amount of people and their dogs that surrounded me. California is so very dog-friendly everywhere you go, and folks are not shy about showing off their pooch. I met Haley, a rescued Weim that was abandoned because she needed to run and the original owners wanted a quiet, relaxed dog. Then I met Rob and his really cool pitt/lab mix named Fritz. Rob went on to tell me about how Fritz can totally catch a wave and surf it to the shore. Impressive.
Speaking of dog surfing, did you know that it is a big, big deal? There are surfing contests just for poochies, most of which benefits a rescue group of sorts. One of the biggest, and well-known ones is the Helen Woodward Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon in San Diego.
