A strikingly handsome, three-year-old tuxedo cat, Freddie longs to be loved. He found his way into PAWS when he wandered onto a welcoming porch one cold winter night, seeking food and friendship. Here's Freddie's story from his rescuer:
Freddie was a newcomer who found our porch near the end of the worst part of this winter. When I first saw, or rather heard him, he was under the wooden framed couch on the porch crying pitifully. I went into the house, opened a fresh can of food, put half a can in a bowl, took it outside and waited for him to come out. He didn't - so I went inside to watch. Once I was gone, he dashed out and ate that food in about a minute and left the bowl so clean it looked like I just took it out of the dishwasher. This went on for a couple of weeks as we gradually got to know each other; finally he started coming out when we brought out food and even let us touch him. There came a day, though, that winds were blowing at 35 to 50 mph and temps were in the low teens during the day with promise of increased winds and lower temps for that night. I was out on a run so my wife called and said she was bringing him into the house. I told her to put him in my office. Once inside he got named Freddie the freeloader after a Red Skelton character. Freddie had the run of the house except at night he slept in my office and his personal box was in there too. Freddie is a gentle and well behaved cat with people; during his stay with us. Freddie was an inside visitor for about 2 weeks and everyone was making adjustments to each other fairly well."
Freddie really enjoys pets and belly rubs. He's got such a sweet, affectionate way about him - how can you resist such a big, beautiful boy? He's been neutered, vetted, and is ready to find his forever home. If you're interested in Freddie, please contact PAWS at 440-442-PAWS or visit www.pawsohio.org.
