A rescued and blind puppy changes one man's opinion about pit bulls

Pit bulls get a bad rap.

Phil Lilly was always a “small dog” owner and liked it that way. He and his wife loved Pekingese and enjoyed the breed as their only “children” for over eighteen years. That all changed, though, when his wife petitioned for a pit bull before his recent deployment. She had always wanted a pit bull, and after years of being a Navy wife, she finally convinced her husband to add a larger dog to their household and increase their home protection while he was deployed. Since Master Chief Lilly believed all the stereotypes surrounding pit bulls, he opted to bring home a Rottweiler pup for his wife instead.

But the pit bull his wife agreed to foster, Duke, was destined to change his view of the breed.
