BOSTON (AP) — A Boston man accused of throwing hot coffee at a neighbor's dog has been arraigned on an animal cruelty charge.
Police said they were called to the city's Allston neighborhood Monday morning after the German shepherd's owner said his neighbor tossed a cup of coffee in the dog's face. Police said they could smell coffee on the dog's fur.
The owner told prosecutors his dog suffered no injuries.
Police arrested 52-year-old Michael Pothier, who told officers he was frustrated and angry with the dog constantly barking at him from behind a fence.
Pothier was released on $1,000 personal recognizance after appearing Tuesday in Brighton Municipal Court. He was ordered to have no contact with the German shepherd or its owner.
