Chapel Hill PetSmart hosting Cinco de Gato cat adoption this weekend

By Ohio.com Published: May 1, 2012

The Chapel Hill PetSmart on Howe Avenue in Cuyahoga Falls is hosting Cinco de Gato, a cat adoption event, this weekend. The event is in conjunction with Paws and Prayers' Operation Meow National Adoption Weekend this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

During the National Adoption Weekend, all cats six months and older can be adopted for $5. The cats will come up to date on vaccinations and will be spayed or neutered. The event begins at 4 p.m. Friday and ends when PetsMart closes Sunday at 6 p.m.

The goal for Cinco de Gato is to have 50 cats adopted from the Chapel Hill location. The goal for Operation Meow is to have 1,000 cats adopted.

"I feel like 'Operation Meow' is already catching on," volunteer Kelly Carpenter said in a release. "W have increased our cat adoptions compared to this time lat year and we could not be more excited about hitting our goal."

If all of the cats at PetSmart are adopted, more will be brought in from Summit County Animal Control.
