Dog lost after Ohio Turnpike crash reunited with owners

By jim Published: July 10, 2009

SWANTON, Ohio (AP) -- A family dog lost during a car crash on the Ohio Turnpike has been reunited with his Minnesota owners two weeks later.

Cyndi Evans of the Minneapolis area says her three children were happy to see Thor, and the 1-year-old Australian cattle dog was happy to see them Monday evening in Swanton, 17 miles west of Toledo.

The family was in a crash on the turnpike while traveling to New York on June 22. No one was seriously hurt, but Thor ran off through a broken window.

The dog wasn't seen until a volunteer from a local animal shelter saw him in a woman's yard.

The Evanses returned to Ohio to bring Thor home.
