Giant George, noted as the world’s tallest dog by Guinness World, died last Thursday a month shy of his eighth birthday.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce Giant George died on Thursday, October 17, 2013,” his owners Christine and David Nasser wrote on their website giantgeorge.com.
When he set the Guinness record, George stood 3-feet, 7 inches tall from paw to shoulder and 7-feet long.
George, oddly enough, was the runt of his litter.
“We appreciate the love and support you have given Giant George over the last several years,” the Nassers wrote. “We look forward to honoring his spirit by continuing his charitable works.”
