June is adopt a cat month at Portage APL

By Ohio.com Published: June 3, 2013

The following is a press release from the Portage County Animal Protective League:

RAVENNA, Ohio (June 3, 2013) – For the entire month of June, cats six months and under will be $30 and adult and senior cat adoption fees will only be $20 (for qualified adopters) at the Portage Animal Protective League.  Regular fees are $50.  Kitten season is here and has the APL overflowing with cats.  The Portage APL is hoping to increase adoptions while also making prices more appealing to potential adopters.

"May was a slow month for cat adoptions and we are really trying to remind folks to adopt from a shelter.  We have wonderful cats and kittens just waiting for someone to give them a chance.” says Chalan Lowry Executive Director.  “Just today, a man found six (four week old) kittens, hungry and trembling after their mother was hit by a car.  We of course, accepted them.”

The Portage APL is a private, nonprofit organization and relies on the generosity and kindness of individuals and businesses to make our community a safer place for thousands of animals who have no voice.  We continue to rescue animals every day and the need is constant. Please give a needy animal a loving place to call home!

For more information, please call the Portage APL at 330.296.4022.
