Paws on Parade to benefit Hattie Larlham

By jim Published: September 11, 2009

When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2009
Where: Boettler Park in Green, Ohio

Come out and enjoy a walk with your dog in the autumn air and support Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding, people with disabilities and local businesses. Walk with friends or make new ones at the second annual Paws on Parade.

This year, the Paws on Parade route will be the scenic Southgate Park. Guests will enter using the Boettler Park entrance on Massilon Road and register at the Boetler Park pavilion, but will use the Southgate Park trail during the walk.

You may walk the park trail as many times as you like during the event. Hattie Larlham Doggie Day Care & Boarding will provide water stations for your dog. Guests, however, will be asked to clean up after their dog to keep Boettler Park clean for everyone.

Bring your pet in costume to Paws on Parade at 10 a.m. and join the parade with celebrity guests Malcolm X Abram, Akron Beacon Journal music critic, and Chuck Collins from 1590 WAKR.

At 11 a.m. meet Boomer the Bomb-Sniffing Dog and Summit County Deputy Sheriff Mike Jones. Boomer has protected four living Presidents during their visits to Canton, Ohio.
